So many predictions around, so many reasons why bitcoin and altcoins price went so low from December 2017.

What do u think are the real reasons why?

I think there are too many ICO projects.
So many ICO projects will make money more and more scattered, which will make the price of bitcoin drop continuously.

I don't really think there is a specific, tangible reason you can point your finger towards for this. The market does as the market does.

If you look at the news coming out, it is mostly good news right now, but they receive little to no attention, because the overall sentiment is bearish.

In a bull market, it's just the other way around: during the last bullrun, there were tons of bad news, but no one read them, because everyone was extatic.

Markets are templates of mass psychology. That's it. Point your finger all you want, fact is, nothing, no news will drive BTC up disproportionately. we'll have to wait for the cycles to go through, as painful as it is.

The same goes for alts as a whole.

All I can say is that the market is full of negative news that fluctuate in the market and now it's just for correction and it will be a long correction, so keep your coins and wait for better times.

The news are there regardless, they are just overemphasized. When we were on a bullrun, nobody cared about the fork controversy and full blocks.

Now, we are in a bear market and nobody is looking at the fact that the MtGox trustee will stop dumping BTC on the market, or that satoshis.place shows that Lighning Network works. Half a year ago, everybody would have talked about these news.

Don't get fooled by this. It's market cycles and mass psychology. News are catalysts at best, but not triggers.

If I think we should be patient first wait for the right time, hopefully tomorrow or the day after bitcoin altcoin rise again we must believe that will arrive a beautiful time in time for us all

Nothing unusual. It’s a phase in all currency markets. Try to remain calm. Resist the urge to panic sell. Some people even take this as an opportunity to enter the market or acquire more coins.

cryptocurrency market saw price falling many times so there is no need for panic. the price will recover soon or later. we just have to wait and hold our coins.

There are a lot of reasons to this. It can never be just because of one factor. The crypto market has a lot of stuffs going on. There goes increasing number of ICO projects, new cryptocurrencies, FUDs, banning of ads of cryptos etc. Now, the market is very volatile and can be influenced easily by these stuffs. We can never point out which is the greatest contributor but we can name some.

The market has behaved this way based from the history of cryptocurrency for no particular reason so why wonder if the market is behaving this way again. Most are just being too hasty about the increase because they are anxious to see their profit growing. We just peaked last December and the peak price is really high. We cannot expect the price to go up at all times.

The prices is up 3x from 1 year looking at BTC which is great. 99% of all altcoins are crap, usless and only valued by hype, most of which will go below ICO prices, so be ready to pick em up, the ones you think will have usage!

There are so much good news hidden by all the crap news and regulations so i am sure we will se even lower prices during the summer, keep investing when it drops!

Bitcoin dominance is incresing, due to dump of alts to BTC and then to FIAT...So there is an reverse trend of what you state :)

It's common on cryptocurrencies, their prices fluctuate too much, plus, there's alot of new ICOs everyday, it's probably better to wait, be patient and hope for another rise of the price.

I would say that the big contribution of this price down in the market is the negative news for bitcoin. It is resulting to more investors getting panic and sell their investing coins,they have fear on their minds for any possible lose of their capital.

There comes highs and low but you can consider it as a correction phase for last year's sudden rise from $2000 to $15000 within a matter of couple of months. If the prices rests anywhere above $5000 you can call it a profit in comparison to last years price.

There is a lot of uncertainty about the crypto market right now. But i would like to say that the manipulators will try to dump the price of crypto to the bottom and it can be considered as the best time to buy for long-term and you should not expect it for short term gain because it's too risky. Manipulator is the real reason i suppose.

certainly the most logical reason is the correction and accidents that have occurred over the past few months. and now, the situation has not really recovered. so naturally bitcoin and the market takes time to recover and become stable

December 2017 is an all time high for bitcoin and altcoins.

Real reason of falling? if that is then it didn't happened on December 2017 but during the next weeks of early January 2018 and it cause by a correction.

After an all time high that correction is expected even until now.

Well ever since that huge run last december, bitcoin went on being too popular that some did become too bad for bitcoin. I mean just look at it, more and more people are here damaging the reputation and the essence of bitcoin without them ever really knowing.

That is how markets works and it doesn't constantly goes up and up it also comes down to bottom to make new high.  Also in this situation most of newbies panic and sale there coins in loss. You need to much patience and ability to hold your funds for longer periods to make big money.

And back again to the law of the market where a lot of demand then the price will rise, Then the lower the demand the cheaper the price. But a lot of opinions about the price decline that occurred in this month.

I agree with you. The capital has been divided too much into ICO projects. Then the development teams sell the ETH they get. Should be so that the price of the coins are reduced.

the reason is mostly the same, there is a big correction and accidents due to the past. and now the market is difficult to bounce back, even more so there is no lightning network found from blockhain to bitcoin.
consequently the situation is very difficult to predict

This is not the first time in the cryptocurrencies market, they can rise in double or triple in few hours, or drop the price to the bottom in the hour, I believe the cryptocurrencies is the future and no doubt to holding it for my long-term investment.

     According to the news with different sources, hacking incident is the main reasons for the crash since huge amount of Bitcoin and Altcoin was the count and may the reasons of the price crash, If these was not happened maybe the recovery of the market were already completed, but this is not the end of cryptocurrency because as I notice there are many ICO projects that has a good platform and have a potential to grow, and in my assessment, these projects will make cryptocurrency popular again.

I still see this is a natural thing, very reasonable, if you have long in the world of crypto, then you will not panic with conditions like this, even you will continue to buy it

Fluctuations in the crypto market become commonplace and there is no need for panic. Currently the market of bitcoin and altcoin is in a state of correction, but the likelihood of returning up is very high. This is the usual manipulation of the market by major players. Look at the news background, it is positive, and the price goes down. Soon there will be a sharp increase, so now a good price to enter the market.

The price of bitcoin and low altcoin is because there is a lot of news about big exchanges being hacked. So people can not have the security of using these exchanges

because too many new coins are popping up so that they can have an impact on the coin "which has a high value of being down.

Everyone is full of negativity. The attention of anyone is not deep, nor is anyone willing to take risks, conditions are also very much. This is also a step of monetization to get its maximum cost. Keep abstinence.

The real reasons are that large exchanges sell large volumes of bitcoins directly to rich investors, then they need to make up for what they have sold and they specifically ruin the price to pay off.

The fall in prices is a normal phenomenon in the financial market. The price of the market is affected by many factors. The recent market decline I think is related to the hacking of the exchange and the prohibition of cryptocurrency in India.

I just think that the expectations was very high, expecting the crypto world to deliver all the profit this 2018, and this is the challenge faced. The mid 2017 performance was out of the usual experience and investors expect such to continue without a little shake up.

I think that the main reason is that Bitcoin grew by 1500% last year. And not only it but the whole market. After such a huge growth, a large and long-term correction is a necessity for further growth.

Well the low price of bitcoin and other altcoins is  good opportunity for people to invest in crypto currency because you will buying almost all the coins at a reduce and cheaper price.

I think that is not the reason on why bitcoin price drop. More people believe to bitcoin rather than just ico so people who join in ico is just small part of the party. We must trust that ico will not impact to bitcoin. But i can say, because ico is part of the cryptocurrency, it could drop the trust to cryptocurrency include bitcoin getting low because so many projects are just scam.

There is nothing much to say. It is sad to see these coins suffering, and I wish there was something from my end that I could do to make the market condition better, but there isn't. I think that we shouldn't give up on the market yet. All of these are only temporary, and very soon,, we will see some increase in the prices of both bitcoin and altcoins again.

I read and I don't know if this is the real reason, people coming from ICO I mean the devs of these ICO are selling or dumping their ethereum, if this is the case, then Ethereum will still have a chance to get up because people are here to trust Ethereum and there is still no other token than Ethereum.

Yes, you are right that the market sometimes goes up and down, it is a natural thing in the crypto.Then by looking at a market like this is a good time to buy it and hold it for a long time and to make a big profit.

Really nothing much to say about this. Prices of both Bitcoin and altcoins have been down a long time now, and time has gone when it really scared me and got me all panicking, now I have decided to see this as an opportunity, co I know that the market will rise again, and I'm taking this as a good time to invest in coins.

I can say only the price of bitcoin and altcoin is now normal even though it is very low now because it is so sometimes sometimes rising sometimes the price drops so the need to do is not panic sell to earn big.

in my opinion, the reason for the price of bitcoin to go down is because of the coin-coin scam that sells homemade coins and to make big profits and then run away. cannot be denied if there is a large mafia playing, selling all the bitcoin that has been obtained from the bitcoin scam website they made last year and this is probably the reason.

I think the fundamental reason is that there are too many ICO projects, and almost every day there are many new ones. And most of them are scams. I think this is the group that affected the cryptocurrency's decline.

i think its the market itself , based on others it is happen yearly so you shouldnt panic , all you can do is wait for the right time untill the value of it risen or back to the way it supposed to be.

I think that's because many people afraid of loosing their fund if they keep on holding their coins, since there are some bad rumors going around.
Giving bad influence on many investors, especially everyone who are just join this cryptocurrency community.

So many parties are using ico to get the funds from the investors. Remember that's the easiest way to get a lot of funds instantly with do a little effort to build a platform. But that's not the point. For me personally so many scammers on this case. Remember centra and the CEO of centra use investor's money to buy a new bentley.

the reason is sure about this quite difficult. many who mention this happens because of the many rejections occur for crypto in that time. but in fact appear much support for crypto but never make things get the better. Perhaps this is indeed a regular cycle that occurs and only that understand and can survive that will get results.

I think this situation is the  greatest punishment for me. I can take 50% drop in my altcoins but at this moment, it already sunk more than 200% in my portfolio. Only adoption can save my investments and not that stupid ETF proposals.

But simply the truth is that the market cannot remain in a bull forever, the price was bound to fall at some point and after the bull market comes the bear which is what we are experiencing now

the possibility that there is a point. many are afraid and panicked by the circumstances of the case. could probably just at the beginning this is a regular decrease since the rise in the market is so big. but a lot of people who just entered on the hype and then fear is going back to the price originally so much selling and causing considerable market volume down and even up to this time.

The low price of bitcoin and altcoyin at present is a good opportunity to assess their risks and invest large sums. In the crypto-space a large amount of money is drawn, but this is only 3-5% of the possible increase in crypto. The growth of the market is inevitable, because interest in it is growing. Bitcoin and the top 50 altcoins will grow.

It's very hard to predict and understand the market situation mate. Yes this looks scary day by day as the value of the coin is dropping, the entire crypocurrencies are flopping that's the reason it's tough to understand. Lets wait and see.

I think that the low price of btc can be explained by the changes in price on the market which is unstable because many factors have an impact on it however this doesn't mean that the low price will remain like this

All I can say is that bitcoin and altcoons today are having a bad or negative problèms in terms of value. We all know that it is normal to go low and high because the value itself isn't stable. It has some postive as well as negative effects on the people. The positive is that they can choose when to sell or to buy coins in order to have gpod earnings and profits. And the negative effects are for the long term holders that will experience losing on its profit.

The conditions that occur on the market today are only a matter of supply and demand, and we can all determine the price of cryptocurrency on the market. when many people sell their assets in exchange, the amount of the coin tends to fall

We all know that all these crypto currencies bitcoin and altcoins are highly volatile in nature and then a part of investment too so these are highly responsible for the flactuation in the valuation of these currencies, as we know that the valuation of crypto was very high in last December’s month of all the coins almost but with the beginning of this year, prices started to fall again and its investors were in panic selling of their coin but still there are assumptions that the valuation will further increase in the coming months of this year.

in my opinion there are some things that make bitcoin prices go down after December 2017. many governments forbid the existence of bitcoin because the price is very unnatural at that time, the reduction of investors entering crypto, the lack of demand for supply and demand that made the price of bitcoin dropped and of course negative news about bitcoin that often pops up.

It was very expected that the market decline may last six months or a year. Maybe even more, if we do not see the influx of new young investors who will be ready to buy bitcoin at any price. This should have a very positive impact on the overall market mood. It's not low price. This is the price that investors are willing to pay.

I find this thing very rubbish to talk about bitcoin and the altcoins valuation every time as from the very beginning we all know the these crypto currencies are highly volatile in nature and therefore their valuation tends to flactuates and varies according to market demand and supply and to everyone’s knowledge, the valuation was too high in the last December’s month and started deflating with the passing of this year but now there are assumptions that valuation will again inflate in coming months of this year.

i had looked at the past few years of bitcoin price more closely, and it seems to be normal that comes after an extremely high phase a correction. in this time we seem to be and the time has always been different lengths.

For me it is because of the scammers, last year a lot of scammers enter bitcoin and put some investment in bitcoin that's why bitcoin price pump. They are getting a lot of multiple investors and put the investment with bitcoin so that the price of bitcoin will improve and the big investors will put more money and invest to them more which is, they actually didn't know that it is a trap. After scammers get profited, they run away and get all the investments they get to those multiple investors. That is why bitcoin price gets low as fast as how it also grows last year. Now, a lot of big investors are not trusting bitcoin again.

I think we should be patient and wait for the market to appear green again.

Bitcoin price now is at good track, the one that is abnormal was the crypto price when December, the hype is too high, the growth is abnormal, that is why the price went wild, and the after effect is the major correction, and since then people keep on comparing the price, we need more investors to invest but it is difficult to attract investors if the market is full of manipulation

The only thing that i can say for now, is to watch out for the next bullrun, so far, if we compared this market condition since last year, this year maybe the worst, but its a good thing on the part of the investors and traders because they can top up their portfolio. Sad news for short term investor like me.

There is too many speculation about why crypto market fall more than 70% from highest value. My opinion is because too many people panic with negatives news. Negatives news start from rejecting ETF approval and hacking on exchanger. Peoples panic with thats news and they selling their coin on cheap price

I think thats normal the value of altcoin and bitcoin are always experience this situation because of thier volatile value.

A normal market needs go through a correction. A year ago bitcoin has been called as a ponzi.

And now that bitcoin is correcting, they never stop throwing bad words to bitcoin. A real market needs to experience this so that's the real reason.

I think the price of Bitcoin is not very low, because you are referring to the price of Bitcoin last year, and I am referring to the price of Bitcoin in all time in the past!

although the price of bitcoin and altcoin fell, but still arguably the price is still quite good compared to the previous period. but the bad thing about the current market red is the impact on ico which also dropped very dramatically. I can say this year is the worst year of ico, for the crypto market itself is actually still quite good.

Everyone keeps on talking on how high bitcoin was during the bull run of 2017. But looking at the past months of that year, you'll see on how low bitcoin was during Q1 and Q2. And as we compare bitcoin's price now to the current month of last year, well its kinda a bit lower.

Mate  they pumped for earning money from cryptocurrencies like before and now they are dumping to collect more coins with low prices. That is the law in crypto market. Whales doing some pumps and they are selling their bags to fomoed newbies and after they asre starting to dump these tokens . Newbies lost their money and whales are earning money.

Good day! Its been months that bitcoin and ethereum stayed at a very low price. Very disappointing I may say especially if you had bought at a higher price. No confirmation of any bull run and some says it will happen on 2021. Anyways cryptocurrency market is unpredictable so I'll just stay posivite.
