Title: [ANN][BLA] BLADE
Post by: bladecoin on February 07, 2014, 05:01:01 AM
A coin inspired by the Classic Science Fiction Movie BladeRunner

BLADE [BLA] | POW/POS
Website

https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fbenbrigade.files.wordpress.com%2F2015%2F04%2Fblade-runner.jpg&t=585&c=4df9jGgpkmjL7w

Blade is a proof of work/proof of stake hybrid for the future. The proof of work portion will be fast and end in a total of 28 days. Proof of stake will take over as the main protocol at that time ensuring the network can run forever. This is similar to Mint's POW to POS distribution model. The stake is a more generous version of Hobo. Blade is currently on the exchange Xnigma.com and we are looking to get it added to more. Please vote for blade! The more miners that mine blade early the better distribution there will be. Make sure to get in before the POW coins are all mined out. Giveaways are hosted in the various trollboxes throughout the crypto community for now and Twitter in the near future. I am currently seeking more exposure for Blade. If you would like to create a reddit, facebook, or other social media please PM me! Faucets are also needed at this point in time.

Blade will be used in the future to fund bladerunners hunting down rogue replicants on earth. Seeing as we should all be humans on earth, obtaining some Blade now while you can is a must. POS will ensure you have a size-able account to properly fund the future bladerunners in their mission by the year 2019.

Specifications
Scrypt 1024
5 minute block times
Proof of Work and Proof of Stake
There are 2019 tokens awarded per block
The stake is set at 10 days minimum coin age and 30 days full weight 20.19% annual
Coins take 6 confirms to send and 120 to spend after mining
difficulty retargets after each block
Starting difficulty .2 not zero so no easy mining just because you hop on quick
16,305,444 Proof of Work coins wil be produced
The Proof of Stake settings will make sure the network can run forever

Are there any other pools available?

It seems like this one is more or less dead, but it could be because of low interest for the coin I guess...

Title: Re: [ANN][BLA] BLADE | POW/POS | PURE POS IN 20 DAYS!
Post by: bladecoin on February 10, 2014, 01:48:22 AM
Updated source code and an updated wallet has been posted.

As it stands 8076 Blocks will be produced with 2019 coins each.

This means the coin will run for just over 28 days total which 7 days have passed so for.

Ironic that just as in the movie Blade Runner the replicants are designed to be human but have a limited life span.

The proof of work stage of blade shall have a limited life span but the proof of stake phase may outlive us all.

Note, you need to redownload the blockchain AFTER you've added the addnode or you'll have a checkpoint issue.

Thanks again to xnigma.com (http://xnigma.com) for adding Blade!

The 1st of 2 Bounties was paid to this address:

F3BRbfamtHLdFGpGbg7Uq85rCobGPTG2xR

The confirmation is on twitter.

http://twitter.com/X...620025538764800

Might be cool if I 'timestamped' these into the Blade blockchain.

Mining continues!

The money supply stands at 7,371,432

The total money supply from proof of work is 45% exhausted.

In about 15 days all proof of work coins will have been mined, and proof of stake will be the only way to mine new blocks!

The money supply from proof of stake that is produced will depend on how many Blade you hold and how long you hold them.

Pretty sure there is no virus, considering that false flags are way more common than real ones and that NOBODY else has complained about it out of everyone who has downloaded it.

Sorry I'm not trying to defame this coin, but what is so special about the specs that it will trigger even any of these virus scanners? try scanning your other coins, see how many shows up with a trojan on the .zip file and another Trojan/Win32.BitCoinMiner on the wallet.exe... I mean common....

Yeah, There are some VERY mainstream wallets that I have to completely shut off NOD32 to download...  This one actually didn't alert me at all and I think NOD32 is a pretty solid package.

Mine away. it won't be long before this thing takes off with the POS :)

Diff has been between 11 and 2 in my time of mining it for the last week. 2 being earlier in the release and 11 when there was a high-roller with a lot of hash power on the pool for a couple of days. With the very fast block diff readjustment it makes it really nice that we don't have to wait for a thousand more blocks before diff comes back down. There have been a few coins that had to fork because of this issue. It's also cool that it won't make it to the radar of pool-switchers since BladeCoin is targeted as a long term hold rather than a quick dump of the most profitable flavor of the hour.

Current diff is 4.64782599, and I'd say that is about average especially considering the current network hash. GL in mining the POW, we can only go up from here! And remember to keep voting on those exchanges. Some of them let you vote once per hour, so persistence pays off :)

That's funny. This coin is practically impossible to mine.

If anybody wants to make new blade, go to cryptorush.in and buy some and mint new coin with your stake.

This coin is pure Proof of Stake now for all practical purposes.

[edit]

I should mention that the block chain is healthy. Minting is confirming transactions at the designed rate. Bladeoin is working great.

Don't you hate these little TROLLS?

Any wallet that has a built in miner will trigger these flags. Here's the complete virus total output:

Many other coins get the same FALSE POSITIVES when the miner is built in.

Lot of people are suddenly mining, I see. The POW period was supposed to end in February, but it seems by now 15964*2019=32231316 coins were mined. That means of the supposed 16305444 coins, we've got an extra 32231316-16305444 = 15925872 coins. Is there a maximum to the amount of coins?

The money supply created by POW currently stands at 15,202,265.
It will be over at 16M. Very very soon. The block count of 16176 includes POS so is not a good indicator of where we are in the POW.

New wallet is up and has been updated on OP.

updated, combination of hardfork and stuck crons
update crons stuck due to hardfork with checkpoint hash
200+ blocks from wrong chain got removed.

see cryptocoin talk for support

the coin is far from dead

it is not a shit coin if you consider the alternatives.........

it does not have the real world 'mass appeal' of bitcoin but what alt coin does ??

use these nodes to connect to the network , I have 7 connections right now the block height is 18670

addnode=107.170.21.110
addnode=107.170.123.55
addnode=192.241.158.155

Make sure you are using the latest wallet see this tweet for a link to it

If you cannot connect for some reason, run it (assuming you are on windoze) from command line with -connect=x.x.x.x

where x.x.x.x is one of the nodes I posted above. .......

https://twitter.com/bladecoin_/status/452739727192752129

The strange thing about this coin is though when max money was hit, proof of work blocks are still alive on the network !!!

Some saying it is a 'haunted' coin .........    I heard a rumor there will be a fork in the future to stop proof of work coins but the developer posted that he is letting it run for now.

I loved the movie Blade Runner , was and still is my favorite of all time......

I have not been able to synch since April 1. Anybody else was able to?

I am not able to connect anymore. What is a community fix?

I will release new wallets and source code that fix the problems of this coin, which are:

1. poor connections
2. PoW not stopping

The wallets will also have better features. Most of the community would need to update to these wallets.

Then I get the exchanges to adopt the wallets.

All previous transactions in the blockchain are valid up until the longest chain of those who switch to the new wallets.

The original dev will lose control of the coin, but at least the coin will live.

This coin is dying because no one can connect to the network any more.

Who's on board?

I am in, although, can you answer me one question as a skeptical person?

"You're in a desert, walking along in the sand, when all of a sudden you look down... Maybe you're fed up. Maybe you want to be by yourself. Who knows? You look down and see a tortoise. It's crawling toward you... You reach down and you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping. you're not helping! REVOLUTION TIME!

I was getting pretty irritated by all these great coins that lost the support of the developer, so I'm trying to start an independent foundation, the Coin Revival Foundation (CFA), that revives these coins and keeps advancing them.

My aim is to give altcoins back to the community and away from speculative whales! :)

Come to the topic to discuss this if you like and explain why Bladecoin would be a good coin to take into consideration.

Come and join! :)

It looks like we are only earning 1% interest on Blade unless we update to the new wallets.

https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/4178-blade-bla-information-on-xnigma-and-cryptorush-mandatory-upgrade-to-new-version/?p=87093

20.19% interest with the new wallets!

OP has been updated with latest 4.0.0.1 wallets.

POW is complete and only POS remains.

Since Crypto Rush's demise you can now only buy Blade on Xnigma. Compare the price to HBN which has more coins and less stake.

Blade Runner is my fav movie of all time !!

I think I know the script by heart !!!

Do you like our owl ??

The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long

I've done... questionable things.......

You’re watching television. Suddenly you realize there’s a wasp crawling on your arm.

You're watching a stage play - a banquet is in progress. The guests are enjoying an appetizer of raw oysters. The entree consists of boiled dog stuffed with rice. The raw oysters are less acceptable to you than a dish of boiled dog.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, I'M NOT HELPING?

i don't think there is ,

cryptorush went south

xnigma seems to be off line............

who knows what the going 'bribe' is to be listed on the various new exchanges i see

even though they had trouble and are working out of things i still like vircurex since they have been around a long time....

i remember when you could trade all the coins against each other.....

that was pretty cool.......

to rebuild their reputation they should list some more coins, this would be a solid choice

seems to run smooth as silk

In time there will be a big player that offers everything and will exist longer than a couple of months :) In the current climate, it's better not to trade anyway. :)

Stay tuned everyone. Coin is still cheap compared to the total and the stake percentage.
It's all stake now so you can only buy it on the exchanges! Let's show them some volume.

You know the Atlanta Dragon con is Aug 29th. Maybe we could give out paper wallets to people there? Maybe with like 100BLA each? I'm in atlanta and have a bunch of friends who go to it.
Can we get a paper wallet design made and printed by then?

not a bad idea,

code it up and do a gitpull maybe the developer will merge it if it works well !!!

A coin inspired by the Classic Science Fiction Movie BladeRunner
LMFAO, good movie though. Best of luck. Just hope we don't see a bunch a new movie coins now?
Would be cool to have a coin that was just for movies though, maybe even one with a built-in movie player?

there are still several active nodes for blade

new blocks appear to be produced daily

i consider a dead coin one which has zero nodes and you cannot connect to the network to send coins

blade was to my knowledge the first coin with a short proof of work stage to be followed later by only proof of stake

this is an idea later copied regularly in the alt coin community

Bladecoin lives!

I am one of two active nodes although I am not sure if the other node is current day human or a replicant from the future who is running their wallet's connection through a time portal in order to earn high stakes and gain 51% control in the future bounty economy.

Now is the time for all current day humans to stake and secure this bulletproof coin.

thx Jonesd

i also LOVE  blade runner

update on above node

i could not get the blockchain beyond about 70k tall

no time to babysit had to update nodes for blakecoin / Photon : family & fix my old abe crawler

anyway / for a second run I 'tweaked' a few normal protections in the source so it will not be so particular about how many blocks it gets so fast from certain nodes (i found only two)

i will fix it back stock if i ever get the blockchain !!

i have a pretty tall (about 189К) blockchain on win 7 but i don't have a static type ip or connection to use -connect=x.x.x.x -maxreceivebuffer=999999 on the cloud node/daemon to pull it from myself

I figured it could be considered a 'cyber attack' or at least 'cyber rude' to try to rip it all from one of the two nodes...

One has only about 180k height too .....

If my tweaks don't work i'll have to try something else / guess i am adopting homeless coins like an old cat lady ...

I figured it could be considered a 'cyber attack' or at least 'cyber rude' to try to rip it all from one of the two nodes...

One has only about 180k height too .....

If my tweaks don't work i'll have to try something else / guess i am adopting homeless coins like an old cat lady ...

Thank you for coming along!

Something shook up the network and I haven't been able to connect since.

I will keep my client open.

Any suggestions?

only suggestion i can offer is make sure

addnode=192.241.188.98

is in your conf file

which will likely work best with these in there also

server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
noirc=1

 I'm pretty sure I have the whole chain. I have been running blade since day 1 of mining. I made a post back in Sept on the other forum about the chain issue, but you all acted like i was crazy and it was fine. It did seem to sort itself out as I think others fired up there wallets to see, but took a shit again back in mid December and I shut my wallet down as well 12/16.

I am up running and synced as of 1/20/16 and ill keep it up.

thx Jonesd

i also LOVE  blade runner

update on above node

i could not get the blockchain beyond about 70k tall

no time to babysit had to update nodes for blakecoin / Photon : family & fix my old abe crawler

anyway / for a second run I 'tweaked' a few normal protections in the source so it will not be so particular about how many blocks it gets so fast from certain nodes (i found only two)

i will fix it back stock if i ever get the blockchain !!

i have a pretty tall (about 189К) blockchain on win 7 but i don't have a static type ip or connection to use -connect=x.x.x.x -maxreceivebuffer=999999 on the cloud node/daemon to pull it from myself

I hope I am not the one being "cyber rude" If so it's not intentional. The reason I say this is I have a large amount of pos blocks hitting the network 1350+ a day and there is only 1440 minutes in 24 hrs, so   :-\

I have a my reservebalance set at reservebalance=1575000 witch is 45% ish of my coins. I have to send my coins to myself after 5 months as my wallet locks up because the transactions start to steamroll in I think? The last time I reset my coins was 8/18/15 and in 5 months i have 11,341 transactions. I am ok for the first few months but come month 4 it blows up and the wallet will lock up and go out of sync even if I have 2 connections. The funny thing is no more 40-80k seem to be staking at one time in the later months.

For the mean time I am going to set my reservebalance=999999999 as that seems to stop the wallet freezing and all staking. I'll send my coin to myself after the dust confirms and wash, rinse, repeat in another 4-5 months, though it does not seem like I am getting the advertised annual stake.

I'll send you the bootstrap if you can't get the chain cinnamon_carter.

I am running your latest build from this summer. https://github.com/thebladerunners/blade/releases

Config

rpcport=45557
port=45555
gen=0
server=1
daemon=1
reservebalance=1575000
addnode=68.148.28.13
noirc=1

I also have no clue wtf I am talking about.  Is this the official thread or is the other forum?

Thanks for stopping by KJMZNine. We have some internal issues we need to deal with first before we think about another exchange. We do appreciate the response though, they seem to be rare when it comes to Blade.

Yes the network is still running. We are looking for help in the continued development of blade.
Currently there is a full time node up, latest blockchain data and wallet available on discord, where there will also be bounties and giveaways.
