Title: assistance from moderators
Post by: basscleff1 on June 26, 2018, 01:51:19 PM
Hoping I can get some account assistance from a BCT moderator. I've private messaged several times, fior months. with no replies. I promise I'll go away if you can just help :)

Maybe specify what you're having problem with? The assistance you're looking for might be able to be provided by non-moderators.

If your account got hacked or you simply lost your credentials, follow the steps given here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

If you have further questions, feel free to ask.

thank you, I have been in touch with both Theymos and Cyrus.
The problem was identified, and some steps were taken to correct, but I'm now stuck. I require a moderator to 'activate' the original account.

'Activating' / unlocking a locked account can only be done by an admin, which is theymos, or cyrus (CMIIW). As long as you successfully prove that the account is yours (assuming you're talking about a locked account here), they will unlock it (let's hope so).

essentially;
I cannot get the recovery email because the account has not been activated.
when I click the resend activation email link, it says I do not have permission to access...
(my previous account, I am a senior member) so I would hate to lose access to the account - although I've not had access to it for a long time ....
please see error below

Did you try to reset your password?

Your account is locked, probably due to a lost password.

You said that you've been in touch with theymos and cyrus, did they give any response?
As I've said earlier, they are the one who can help you in this case.

yes, I'm hoping someone else can get their attention, or get to reply to pm's. They seems to not be replying to me possibly thinking I am the cause of the account issues, but the account was hacked, and the mods were helping to assist, then they stopped replying.

Can you tell your username? And did you had staked Bitcoin address? If yes, did you sent message to admin with all information that was required?
I would recommend to move this thread to Meta, where it is belongs.

both admins could see the original account was hacked, I had proven my identity. Its just a matter now of me being able to get the recovery email - which cannot be sent because the account in question is not 'active'. One of the mods needs to re-activate the account on their end - so that I can get the recovery email.

It still requires a signed message I'm not sure if you have provided this to the admins but this is the only way they are going to give it back to you. If they havent answered then its probably because you havent supplied this information.

in my conversations, I was not asked for this. The admin said he would unlock the account.
It's just a matter of not being responded to now.

Nothing else was asked of me, so I keep sending requests with no reply.
they just have to reactivate the account. I can't.

if someone can actually get their attention and just ask them to take a  quick look. A response would be great! - since my account in question is a sr. member account.
