Have you checked it by following the steps in this link: https://support.ledgerwallet.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005198565-Switch-browser-support ? You can only connect to MEW if browser support is enabled. Open the ETH app -> press the right button to select "Settings" -> both buttons to open it -> press the right button to select "Browser Support" -> both buttons to open it -> right button to select "Yes" -> press both buttons to select it.
