A preorder from BFL? Think about it...

BFL will be facing multiple lawsuits this year and I'm not sure you would want to put your eggs into a company that may have to pay severe fines and restitution.

Like the ANTMINER? Well try to look at the Price at CEX. It's at least dropping to the proper buying rate and not just a trading rate.

Buy FAS > Instant GPU Mining.

I hate cex.io... I lost so much money there hoping and wishing it would always turn around....   what an idiot I was...

I made my own solution.

I have 0.5 GH/s there, was planning on buying more but from what people are saying that might not be a good decision?

Cex.io hashrate is always highly overpriced, while BFL has really bad history in meeting its delivery schedule for pre-order units.

So, just stay away from both the 2 sites. :D

BFL is the last company i could place my money at,

price at cex right now is 0.023, you can buy usb antminers that run at 2ghs for 0.044

or even better is the S1, with price/ghs at 0.008 at the moment.

I think you guys are honestly just bashing. You all do understand that the price of a GHS on cex.io is determined by the people who are trading it right? You all bitch about the high price for a GHS yet people are buying/selling it at quite a rather large volume.

The only cases where anything would be an apparent scam would be the retards who don't use 2FA and have had there accounts hacked because they think downloading this magical bot program that will make them a ton of money on cex.io.

So please enlighten me on how cex.io is a scam i've been one of the first registered members there and I can say I made plenty of money on there with the "cloud" mining as well as day trading. With 0 fees its not hard to flip and flop 500 GHS at highs and lows throughout the day manually for a couple easy BTC to make WHILE it also mines for me when i'm holding.

This is what most people don't think about. Though I agree it IS overpriced, that's part of the negative part of CEX. The positive is that you don't have to pay for electricity, deal with the heat output, space restrictions, etc, and you can buy/sell GHS like nothing. It takes a few seconds. You can't expect a company to make you billions just because you buy a GHS or two.

Indeed, cex.io does charge you hosting, electricity and repair costs.

CEX.IO has its faults, and its benefits. You really have to put things into perspective...

There are plenty of reasons not to invest, which I've heard and agree with:
-it's an illiquid market. Your investment, if placed all at once, will have an immediate impact on the price - as will the removal of said investment.
-you pay a premium to let other people do the work for you. If you have enough know-how and capital to do it yourself, why pay more?
-I've heard the argument that it's a constantly depreciating asset - but as long as the BTC network grows, every GHS is. It's worth the consideration though.

If you have a reasonable amount of money and are looking to invest in the long term... cex.io is not the place for you, I'd say.

Now if you're a newbie like I was am...

I think it's a pretty swish deal for newcomers. Here's why:

-you get to let other people do the work for you, for only a ... "small"  premium.
-you invest any amount at any time, and get exactly what you pay for. No pre-orders, or waiting of any kind. If you want to try, you can use $20... or $5...
-you can cut your losses (or make your profits) and leave at any time. No one's got your money locked into a contract.
-no trade fees and a real-time trading platform.

Honestly, IMHO, cex.io is an intro course to the topic of trade and cryptos. If I was sitting on a few grand, and I wanted to just invest ... I probably wouldn't go near cex.io, because it would likely be cheaper to buy some hardware myself and just point at ghash.io.

Wait for KNC (https://www.kncminer.com/?) to finish their 10PH mining datacenter. They are so far the most trustable vendor, and in 3-6 months when they start selling Cloud hashing, their prices will be the lowest (due to the size of their datacenter (http://www.datacenterknowledge.com/archives/2014/02/06/bitcoin-miners-building-10-megawatt-data-center-sweden/)).

If you cant wait so long, buy their Neptunes (https://www.kncminer.com/products/neptune-second-batch?) and mine yourself. That's at least my plan.
