Yeah that is a major development right now and I saw the Nexo token price go up with that too. I wish I had bought some a few days ago when it was still very cheap but I was busy and had a migraine so couldn't go round the exchanges getting my monies together to buy some up. I like the fact that there will be dividend sharing so you can get your loan and also earn dividends on holding Nexo token. It's a real win-win and I have no idea why some SALT members are being really nasty about the idea, especially when the SALT Admins left their own telegram group lol. They should be happy that someone is bailing them out.

NEXO is still very undervalued. I'd be happy to see it at SALT's current price. 10x is not bad!

you loan against your crypto keeping your crypto to sell at a later date at hopefully a higher price and because you havent sold anything there is no tax to pay so its a win win, thats the way i read into it

Just bought 100K Nexo yesterday, i hope this bear market stays a little longer so i can accumulate more.

guys i like the concept , but can we have a roadmap here!!! there are too many scams going on and u need a road map with proper deadlines. so that investors can see the potential of your project.

This simply does not make sense. Nexo is itching to acquire all qualifiable assets from something called Salt, no sure whats that, along with the crypto collateral in the possession of Salt because Nexo is concerned with what, wounding effects of Salt developments on the economic environment around it. What if theres no collateral whatsoever, whats that they try to acquire, thin air or what?

I like lending projects (Salt Lending, Ethlend) in general and Nexo is no different. Nexo has indicated that they have received early requests and applications for the Nexo Instant Crypto Overdrafts exceeding $500 million. This makes me optimistic that Nexo can be successful in the long-term.

This is a good idea, particularly knowing the potential this industry has over the next few years. Good team too!

I am thinking of applying this week for a Nexo loan. Has anyone had success with it so far? I would like to read a few testimonials. I have seen other lending platforms go down the drain, so what makes Nexo better than the other lending platforms? Also if I want to pay the 6% monthly interest and keep the loan for say 6 or 9 months or when I think the bear market is over, can I just keep repaying the interest? Pls consider trying to get NEXO listed in at least 1 big exchange. Big investors don't have access to buying large amount of coins... there is just not enough liquidity the market provided by the exchenges you'in is just too thin...)

I've been following the updates and announcements of Nexo for a while, but I've got a feeling that Nexo will eventually go completely bankrupt:

Nexo provides mostly upto 50% fiat-value of the deposited crypto; imagine the worth of deposited crypto goes down by 50% - that'll leave Nexo with a loss. Imagine that this continues for a while, Nexo will eventually be left with no cent in their bank and get bankrupt. Risky.

Thing is the drop has to be 50% from today and sustained for over a year on all top coins and at the same time no one pays back any loans with interest.
This is a very unlikely scenario imo crypto has to die for Nexo to fail.

(different coins have a LTV loan to value ratio)


On the plus side, what if crypto do not go much lower but crypto goes up in value, Nexo will become a big hitter, top 10 coin very quickly.
Also Credissimo have been doing similar loans for over a decade, they know how this market works.

If you pay back your loan in the first 30 days, you only pay 0.7%. That's quite cheap compared to the taxes you would pay if you would just sell your crypto.

Well, Nexo might not be in loss right now because back in December/January, taking a loan wasn't this easy. Imagine if they had crazily provided loans at the rate of $10,000 per bitcoin deposited when bitcoin (nearly) touched $20,000, Nexo would have been in a good loss by now.

IMO, crypto is still pretty young and can become extremely volatile again in the future; Nexo needs to be very careful with their maximum collateral coverage ratio.

Right now, if for any reason, the Tether crashes, then it'll be disastrous for Nexo as they've provided people with the loan ratio of 1 USD:1 USDT, and in return, if later on the Tether loses its parity, the people will give Nexo back <1 USD:1 USDT, which would be a pure loss for Nexo!

I have both NEXO and ETH deposited for collateral. Only after I took my first loan from Nexo did this thought occur to me and I posed it to Nexo support: How do I know which collateral my loan is based on? Can I specify my NEXO tokens to be the primary source of collateral?  

Here is their reply: At the moment you cannot specify that. We are having some updates planned regarding that will be done in the future. At the moment the more NEXO you deposit, the more discount you will get on the interest rate. If you end up with having only NEXO tokens as collateral - you will get 8% APR.

While banks are starting to engage with cryptocurrencies, there is still a long way to go. According to Antoni Trenchev, cofounder of Nexo, “banks are if not hostile, then at least suspicious of cryptocurrencies.”


He explains: “Early on Bitcoin has been associated with the dark web and all sort of dodgy activities. But nowadays these illicit transactions are a single percentage of the overall transactions volume. The number one currency for criminals and money-launderers still is the USD and no one would fantom to remove fiat currencies. KYC and AML for crypto are harder and are expensive for the banks, hence a lot of the banking institutions shy away from it.”

This explains why banks have traditionally been reluctant to accept crypto as collateral. This has forced crypto holders to sell their cryptocurrencies for fiat before they can use it in any bank-related activities. But many who believe that the price of their investments will rise are reluctant to do so. Here is where crypto lending projects come in.

By accepting crypto as collateral, these projects allow people to hold on to their tokens while being able to make use of their wealth. According to Trenchev, “We have had people borrow for all sorts of purposes from buying a car and going on a vacation to purchasing a new home, which are pretty significant events in people’s lives.” The same people banks turned down.

Nexo, which is backed by TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington, has introduced several initiatives over the past few months and recently became the first project to accept XRP as collateral. The company, which functions as a bridge between the crypto world and the financial world, has also offered the only protection on the market for stablecoins by guaranteeing a 1-to-1 conversion for any stablecoin that is registered on its platform.




Recently, Nexo ranked as the coin with the highest ROI since this October.  (Nexo hasnt even warmed up yet  ;D )
 It is unlikely this was the result of a pump and dump scheme as there was no peeks nor sharp drops.
 But whether the steady increase continues remains to be seen.

Only just starting to learn about nexo now (it got listed recently on an exchange I follow, trade.io). Do you need to do KYC for the interest earning component? I prefer to not send personal information.

The Medium article about interest doesn't flag if KYC is needed, but it feels like something that would require that level of information.

They have changed LTVs without warning, they have changed nexo LTV from 30% to 15% effectivelly trapping people who got loans using NEXO as a colllateral.

They have changed the whitepaper - they no longer mention NEXO being a security token or that NEXO holders should get dividends, there is 0 mention in the new whitepaper of nexo being a security token.

Is there any comparison available of NEXO vs. CELSIUS? From the looks, it looks like Celsius is better than Nexo for the purpose of providing loans, only undervalued.

Are you talking of service or token? Celcius token is absolute shit, its never going to go up , it has no reason, no utility nothing, its a pure garbage. In contrast NEXO token, is just a turd... Both tokens are shitcoins, maybe nexo slightly less shitcoin, but still stinks as hell.

If you are talking about getting a loan.

1)NEXO - minimum 500 USD, maximum 2M, no waiting que, loan deliverd from 30 min upto 1 day, interest 8% .

While

1) Celcius - minimum loan 10k, you have to wait, interest is variable from 5% (30%LTV) to 12% (50% LTV).


Celcius has much worse token, but a cool community and great manangement, in contrast NEXO has banned half of the people, most of investors sincerelly hate nexo, nexo management  shits on the investors.

In terms of loans, NEXO provides easy loans, while Celcius has a waiting list, and very high minimal requirements.


Other things to consider - celcius pays interest on your crypto weekly, NEXO pays daily only on stable coins.

In. terms of toke. comparison - NEXO has very limited utility, and dividends are not guaranteed on the token as per terms and conditions. So as of know the only utility of nexo is reduction of interest rate from 16% to 8% (if you pay the interest with nexo tokens). In contrast Celcius, has more utility, yet its still bad  coin.


I wouldnt recomend buying Celcius or NEXO - both are bad.


I do cincerelly hate nexo. I do hate it. Cant sell tokens as NEXO doesnt allow loan repayment with NEXO tokens, otherwise would have sold my stack long time ago. They promise a lot and deliver nothing.

Also, tried Celcius, didnt get a loan, but send some coins to get weekly interest - seems nice. Well, have no negative feelings towards Celcius, like the company, but would never buy CEL tokens.

NEXO censors community, doesnt answer questions, does shady stuff. I would not recomend holding large sums with them. For example, they had 30% LTV on nexo token loans, then out of nowhere reduced it to 15% trapping everyone who took loans using nexo coin. And they dont allow loan repayment with nexo shitcoin. So if you put 90k USD worth of nexo, and took 30k USD loan, suddenly you need to add another 110k USD worth of NEXO just to be on 15% LTV.


God how much I hate NEXO.
