There is a rumor that facebook is gonna buy Coinbase. Last 2 month we saw that facebook ban crypto adds but last week they step back and now let some crypto adds. just after that a new rumor come out that Facebook will buy coinbase. If this happen btc will jump +10k quickly and this will help all market. after that facebook can accept bitcoin/eth payment too.

what do you think about that ? is that just rumor or gonna happen?

for me this is not a surprising move by facebook, i believe mark zuckerberg in time will be realizing to venture on blockchain but the thing to buy a big exchange is a really quite shocking but a good move for me. It seems most of the whales here in the internet are now realizing the next path of the technology run for the next 10 to 20 years. Well this will be a good indicator of further developments for the whole blockchain industry which i wish will be a good effect in order for us enthusiast here to celebrate and watch this industry grow more.

Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. Mark Zuckerberg is very intelligent man, with the technology of blockchain he know that he can do more with it. Sometimes riding in waves make you become more rich. We don't if that's true but sooner or later a lot company will adapt to this technology.

That is just a rumor and i should suggest you don't take it seriously. That's just a reccomendation from the former of facebook employment. The real news is about facebook lift its ban to the crypto advertisement and this has been mentioned in some places.

Dont really see it happening even tho it would be good move for both sides,just imagine every facebook being spammed with buy btc here adds in their profiles ;DCoinbase is already working on their "pro" platfrom that should be used for trading securites and them being sold to fb doesnt add up imo

I think its can be real. Not so long time ago Facebook allows again advertisement of the ICO. We see that facebook relation to cryptocurrency changing

Very interesting rumor. If this were to happpen, the news in itself by facebook i think would attract a lot of new buyers into crypto.

Its a plausible enough story

Coinbase values itself at about 8Bn

Facebook has a value of over 600bn, to purchase coinbase if they raised new share capital it would only take about 1% of their share value to purchase it.

Coinbase has a billion in revenue a year so its a pretty healthy investment if you can afford it.

I doubt it will happen because;
-, Coinbase is a big trading platform and this platform has a good track record, this is still the beginning of cryptocurrency adoption and Coinbase has high potential in this business, I doubt if Coinbase owners would be easy to sell this money machine
-, Facebook is a big company, they can easily get into the exchange business by raising funds from Investors and build a new exchange

This has gotta be total BS

As much as I don't like FB, the takeover would be massive news for the market. It would attract tons of new users (FB user base is +2 billion), it could attract fresh capital from investors, and it could also be the trigger cryptocurrencies needed to begin the 'adoption phase' worldwide.

Just rumours and speculation, nothing more.

As usually. I try to find any proof but don't found anything. Rumors only. if it happens we will see a loud announcement but not any silent rumor. I'll be glad to hear about it but it's impossible

Wow that's pretty outlandish. I've seen a lot of big rumors since getting involved in crypto and the amount that were actually true is minimal. I think maybe the industry as a whole may me more susceptible to it and many people believe it because it is what they want to hear and not because it is actually logical.

I don't think Facebook will be buying coinbase. I think the chances of that happening are slim to none. Just my opinion

I don't think the rumor is true because facebook started a fight against cryptos early 2018 by blocking ADS lead to coinbase ,blockchain or any bitcoin advertisement , I think rumor generated from desperate investors looking for quick pump .

I don't think that it is true, for me it's a rumor but I heard few days ago I was reading an article which says that facebook allows again now the ads about crypto currencies.

So maybe they have a plan about it ? It would change a lot of thing in my opinion if a company like facebook make a big move into crypto.

Hope this happens but do not expect more because it will probably make the market a bit of a shock, still a rumor, between reality and never happened, but it would be amazing if there is a clear deal, the market will move up again because Of the many fresh funds that go into Inside, Mark Zuckerberg may be interested in cryptocurrency where many advantages when his condition is in good condition, he is a smart person who will complete the relationship to produce extraordinary things in cryptocurrency.

It seems to me that most likely this is true and this is the right decision from the head of FaceBook. After this event, FaceBook will again be in a trend.

A good news for the cryptocurrency community. Facebook has a lot of audience and getting involve in crypto will go a long way to bring these audience into crypto and help the price of various coins to increase since it is going to bring more demand.

If they did buy coinbase they will help to pump the markets with their huge membership base. Mostly likely they will want to create their own coin and list it on coinbase, that will be a huge altcoin.

Do you really believe people don't already know Bitcoin? They don't need fb to tell them to buy or not.
Only people in crypto are buying current ICO or not. BTC won't get pumped. Also this news don't seem plausible.
Also people don't like fb and be followed everywhere.

Facebook supports blockchain and new technology. But doesn’t mean they support altcoin. Same as Warren Buffett. They don’t trust how coins work.

Woow, thets will be green light for BTC and ETH pumpers <3  and theta will be new pump and bull run.

I think This is new era of cryptocurrency

For me, Facebook's impossible to refuse cryptocurrency, who refuses to call cryptocurrency who will perish.

Although I also hope that the market will have good news to drive development, I think such news should be false! This conflicts with Facebook’s policies. Facebook has implemented regulations prohibiting all cryptocurrencies from advertising! This shows Facebook's position to reject cryptocurrency!

Allow themselves they can, and if you look really, everyone gets income, why not have an additional one. And rumors about denial and prohibition can easily turn into freedom of action.

Facebook has bought instagram. so facebook couldnt make new app like instagram ? no its about that . its more about people now instagram and insta has many users already, people knows insta. so if facebook buy coinbase that doenst mean that they cant build new exchange but they will buy a trusted , wellknown , big exchange. so why not ?

As of the moment it is just a rumor and if there is no official statement from facebook we should take it with a grain of salt, however if this turns out to be true then it will be a great move by facebook. As there are emerging social media platforms that thrives through the blockchain technology like steemit it is inevitable for them and they would really need to make a move if they want to also be competitive using such technology. And if it is true then them having their own cryptocurrency might come true.

Is this true news? I doubt it, I think FB is more suitable for issuing its own cryptocurrency.

it is very possible, the owner of facebook is a person who is very understanding about technological advances and good prospects in technology so merupakn very big possibility if facebook will acquire Coinbase

i personally dont like fb too and closed my profil but still they have so many users and money. If facebook buy coinbase this can help a lot cryptomarket. Everybody , news channel , newspaper , finance sectors news they all will talk about bitcoin and cryptos will get attention again. those news will follow new pumps. This can be huge for crypto. I hope it happens or something big as fb get into cryptos. currently we need that so much.

To be honest I just wonder what would facebook do with blockchain technology and the repercussions it has for users and the information they input in facebook. I always believed that facebooks main products is not really the social media platform people use but the real product is the information willingly being put by people there, their likes and dislikes, demographic, group affiliations, ideaoligies and beliefs. All information is now paid information I think and benefits corporations in their market strategies.

I think this is a rumor. If Facebook makes such a move, then it is very conflicting with its policy. I don't think Facebook needs to rely on any cryptocurrency to make money!
