Tangram

Tangram is developing a blockchain based platform to provide decentralized video encoding services using peer-to peer technology.

Tangram has been developing the proof of concept and alpha components for the last 9 months, capitalizing its founders’ experience in video encoding, network optimization, user authentication and concluding the test phase of the test network.

The Tangram private test net is already running and we expect to release a closed beta of the test net soon.
Tangram already encoded 1000+ hours of videos in different resolutions and formats on its private network.

Tangram is not a decentralized storage and it’s pluggable with cloud storage services. Tangram do not deliver nor store the video content, it provides the encoding service with its decentralized platform.

It is faster, thanks to the processing nodes that will encode simultaneously different portions of the video instead of encoding the full video from start to finish

It is more secure, due the fact that video is never processed by a single entity

Scalable
It is highly scalable thanks to the cloud network nature and to the fact that the peer network can be quickly and easily extended at no cost
 
Low-Cost
And it has lower costs, thanks to the business model, that utilizes “third parties” unutilized CPU and rewards them with a token, so that lower hardware investments are required.

Token sale / TGE
The token sale date is yet to be defined. It is not guaranteed that the token sale will happen or that it will be public. If Tangram raises the expected amount of private investments there will be only a token generation event.
In any case, the TGE/sale will happen simultaneously with the release of the main net.

There will be bounties for translations after the release of the whitepaper.
There will be the chance to run two types of nodes on the Tangram test network, both worker agents and validator nodes. For any information about this, contact us privately on Telegram.

Files to big to upload to streaming services are also to big to upload for converting...

Uploading and encoding of large video files already happens, Tangram is just the encoding service to make the compression and the conversion of these files faster and cheaper than traditional services (like Amazon AWS). Tangram is built to be compatible with cloud storage services like Amazon S3, to encode files in multiple profiles stored by video content providers without relying on large infrastructures or high costs.  
Also, Tangram splits the video files in chunks and the nodes of the network only encode little parts of the file. Tangram starts the transcoding process while the file is being uploaded on its network

Tangram runs a permissioned blockchain to track the jobs in the network and to validate the encoding outputs from the nodes, but TNGRM is and ERC223 token on the Ethereum public blockchain.
There will be bounties after the release of the whitepaper for translations and social interaction, as well rewards for partecipating to the closed beta

It is highly scalable that can be quickly and easily extended at no cost.

We never store the video, even while it's uploading we start to split it and distribute it through the network, so it's impossible for an attacker to obtain the full file. When the chunks are encoded, Tangram delivers the video back to the storage of the submitter
