Title: Your reports: Status confusion or unnoticed bug?
Post by: mdayonliner on June 28, 2018, 02:23:04 PM
First, I thought to post this finding on the [Guide] Reporting effectively (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4519248.0) topic then I realized it could be an off-topic reply for the topic, I am not so sure. With some hesitations, I am creating this topic. I need to understand how it's working or is it an unnoticed forum bug.

This is a part of my Your reports page. For better understanding I drew the arrows with specific colors. It's easily understandable that...
1. Once a report gets deleted then it's a good report.
2. Until it's not deleted, it's Unhandled.
3. How about the rectangular one? The post has been deleted yet the status says Unhandled.

I hope a mod or anyone knows about it.

Thanks.

If a thread has been moved to the trashcan then the report isn't automatically handled. That only happens if the post/thread is deleted, so it will still have to be handled manually.

Ok, what I understand from here is - when a post/thread gets deleted disappeared then two actions possibly happens.

1. Move to the trashcan
2. Delete

When move to the trashcan happens then the post/thread has not gone for forever, it's possible to restore. Like Recycle Bin (Delete).
When delete happens then the post/thread has gone for forever, removed from the database and never can be bring back. Like Recycle Bin (Shift + Delete).

Did I mess up anything?

Pretty much, though admins can restore deleted posts/threads, though probably not indefintely.

Doesn't the first paragraph in your quoted explanation explin this?

One of my reported post has been marked as bad though I only report when someone violate the forum rules. So how can I missed that one report? So I want to know what I have report incorrectly. So then I can correct my mistakes. But I don't know how to checked? Do I need to wait for reaching my reports to a threshold value in order to check my reported posts?

Generally, you can only check your report history once you've hit a certain threshold of good posts which is believed to be around 300 currently. However, moderators have been known to let people know in the past which one was bad if you ask nicely. No guarantees though.

However, if you get 300 reports you can check yourself from then onward. ;)

It was for this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4543040.msg40894629#msg40894629

How to earn Cryptocurrency by completing simple tasks!!   vphasitha01   This user posted this thread not in the correct board which should be posted in Altcoin Discussion board

Looks like it possibly may have been incorrectly handled, though it's a tricky one. It does say you can earn bitcoin/eth, but then further down looks like you might earn some other token that you exchange so who knows without looking into it further.

I had very clear answer from hilariousandco on this topic, thanks hilariousandco.

I thought to lock the topic now then I had this 2nd thought in mind to keep it unlocked for the next 24 hours. May be some members will be able to have their answers too.

Keep spamming (LOL) digging/sharing your knowledge until the next 24 hours  :)

Cheers

Thanks for clearing my doubts, this was popped up me when NickVasilich (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1256877) promoting this Altcoin (with his refferel code) all over the forum boards. So I think I missed this one.

Btw i think this platform only paid with Altcoins not by Eth or Btc. So he/she ultimately mislead all of them (even mods) ;)

Come on mods... This time you're deleted one of my post by saying off topic. I don't know mods will read the whole conversation before deleting a post or just delete by looking at it's content only. In fact content is not violated any of the forum rules. ( Don't know mods will detect as a death threat)

This is my thread>>https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4529244.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4529244.0)

This is the massage I got from mods by mentioning the content is off topic.

But do you guys think am I violated any of the forum rules?

Who said it was deleted for being off topic? The post you quoted is pure spam and not allowed per the rules so that was likely deleted along with your redundant response.

I think it's time for me to lock the topic. Seems like hilariousandco is ending up responding unnecessary replies. No offence vphasitha01. I am glad that you had your answer.

I needed to have very clear about my understanding.
