Title: Reasons for political instability among citizens of a country? Post by: change7 on June 28, 2018, 05:41:18 PM Changes is usually felt in all aspect of life, reasons for this changes differs from one situation to another. It is observed that most time citizens of many countries are found not to be stable in participating in politics of their country, every non participation or changes in the mode of participation is propelled by a reason. I keep asking myself what the reason behind this instability could look like. In a close examination I conclusively tag unfulfilled promises by our political leaders as the reason behind it. What do u think is the reason?
Title: Re: Reasons for political instability among citizens of a country? Post by: carizmerlin31 on June 28, 2018, 05:49:44 PM There are so many reason why there is political instability! Base on what I've encounter and witness in governments in different countries as i study political science here is a list of some of the larger causes of political instability: (1) The government is too weak. (Think the Articles of Confederation in US history; think Afghanistan or Somalia for more recent world history., Corruption in countries like Philippines and Africa) (2) The government is too strong.(Just about any modern dictatorship qualifies in that regard.) (3) Rival religious, ethnic, or tribal elements within the society. (In the Middle Ages, you could point to the Crusades, or the Protestant Reformation; many of the societies of Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia are more recent examples. Specifically, think of the Balkans conflicts of the 1980s & 1990s, or Rwanda in the 1990s, or South Sudan, more recently.) (4) Resources - either in terms of a general or specific lack, or too much of just one or two major resources. For example, wars over oil are now giving way to wars over water. Post by: Starfranko on June 30, 2018, 01:18:24 AM I think injustice is one of the greatest contributors to state instability . When people feel and believe they are not getting their fair share of state allocations the natural reaction will be to agitated.

Post by: criza on July 12, 2018, 04:06:54 PM Political instability is not just simply the non-participation of the citizens of the land during elections; it is more than that. I think that political instability is our refusal to use our power to vote that shows our low involvement when it comes in making long-term decisions. It also denotes the opportunity we waste that will result to uncertain future of the government of our country. However, I believe that there are always reasons behind that. I think that (a) people do not see any hope and faith about the government; they think that none of them deserves their vote and no one has the capability to do what is right and appropriate and lastly; (b) people just simply were not able to vote because of emergency that they think is more important that voting and/or, they were really 'hindered '.

Post by: vik254 on July 12, 2018, 08:22:46 PM there are numerous reasons why many countries always face political instabilities when election time is around the corner. one of the key reasons facilitating this in my county is tribalism. a good sum of people only vote basing on tribal lines. the elected members also do not focus on making the entire country progress but they only help out their tribesmen. this has led to war among various groups since most issues being faced are politicized basing on tribal politics.
Title: Re: Reasons for political instability among citizens of a country? Post by: wolf_norris on July 26, 2018, 04:32:50 PM I think that a big cause of political instability can be when people are greatly divided in a country or region. If half the people want one type of government and half want another this can cause big problems. There will often be minority governments. Of course, one person will always get elected, but half the population will be unhappy. They will protest so many of the decisions that are made. They can even cause a reelection to happen. If there actually is a reelection and they win, then the other half of the population can be unhappy. I don't know what it is that can cause such great divides, but something I think it's done on purpose. It's all a big show. Companies throw around big money behind the scenes. They want people to be divided and focus more on that than what the real problems their country is facing.
