Running a blockchain is expensive (in form of mining), so it shouldn't be used if not necessary.
If you want a messenger that is censorship resistant you just need a P2P protocol, you don't need a blockchain.

Hi,

I agree with @aleksej996. Blockchain is not the right element here but p2p should be considered to create a messenger to maintain anonymous and unrestricted environment from government or any regulatory bodies to control the application.

If any one is interested to develop this application let me know its an interesting project and I would like to do.

Indeed, blockchain is not the right tool for this.  Have you looked at Bitmessage?  They did a P2P messenger similar to what you propose - it was quite popular in the crypto community some years ago, but I think no longer really is.

Why is it that you want to use a blockchain? What value does it add to a messenger? What would you want to record on the blockchain?

Sounds like you are looking more for something related to cryptography, but not a blockchain.

You have to make a great messenger, but i dont think that blockchain is an essential part of it. Maybe but i am not sure.
