Pixie started as an idea back in 2013 when the founder, Greg Barden, was on a mission to create a more local world. In 2017, Pixie launched its first app and began trading. The Case for Cryptocurrency

Pivoting from our existing centralised architecture to a decentralised model will allow the business to scale rapidly and globally. Taking advantage of frictionless, fast and low-fee transactions will allow Pixie to reach into new territories.
 
Pixie will create a dual wallet for users, retaining the existing e-money wallet for day-to-day transactions, and then creating a new open and transparent cryptocurrency wallet through our Pixie token.

This dual-wallet approach gives businesses the stability of taking day-to-day payments in fiat currencies, whilst simultaneously introducing cryptocurrencies to users in a safe and exciting way by awarding Pixie Tokens for transactions.

Over time we foresee that cryptocurrencies will become established and mainstream, and during this period we anticipate that use of the Pixie Tokens will increase, and that trust in the cryptocurrency space, in general, will increase.


Pixie Token Specifications:

Whitelist Process Opens:		Tuesday. 3rd of July 10.00am BST.

For Merchants

• The increasing encroachment of chain stores to high streets across the western world has pushed up ground rents and rates to a prohibitive degree, forcing independent businesses to locate further away from the centre of towns. The reduced footfall of these areas causes a discovery problem--how to attract new customers in-store when they are harder to find?
• Merchants have many options for taking payments in-store, but none are tailored specifically towards independent businesses, and merchants perceive that they are getting poor value for money for the service provided. There is a desire for a lightweight, fast and cost-effective alternative.
• Merchants lack a means to rewards customers in a cost-effective way, without having to buy expensive hardware solutions, or fall back to basic paper-and-stamp loyalty cards.
• It’s very difficult for a small independent business to collect and utilise customer data in a meaningful way compared to the intelligent systems that big chain store franchises have available to them.

For Customers

• Customers value having a unique and positive experience in-store, instead of the bland, homogenous experience of chain stores. There is no single curated guide to independent businesses that customers can use to locate this kind of experience easily.
• There is no way to be rewarded for supporting independent businesses, and no way for a customer to demonstrate their affection for independent businesses and the variety, experience and quality they bring.
• Payment options are very limited in independent businesses, often requiring customers to walk to the nearest cashpoint to pay for smaller items (due to the high charges levied on smaller purchases for the merchant).

Vision

The vision is for Pixie to become established as a payment platform of choice for independent businesses, and a one-stop solution for customers to discover, pay, and earn rewards at independent businesses across the globe.


The Pixie Platform comprises three aspects of Discovery, Payment, and Rewards, to provide a ‘virtuous cycle’ for merchants and customers.

Token Distribution

The Pixie token will be distributed as outlined below.


(1) 40% of Tokens will be allocated to contributors and will be transferable at the end of the Token Sale.
(2) 30% of Tokens will be set aside as a reserve to strategically raise further funds to ensure international growth of Pixie is achieved.
(3) 20% of Tokens will be allocated to a Community Distribution fund, used to incentivise users for use and to sign up to Pixie in new territories.
(4) 9% of Tokens will be allocated to the team, long term investors, and third parties.
(5) 1% of Tokens will be allocated to a Bounty Fund, used to award early investors with bonus Pixie Tokens during private and pre- token sale phases of the Token Sale.

We already have a rapidly growing platform of independent businesses and users that are conducting fiat payments through our existing conventional platform. However, the key point which I think you raise fairly is how can we ensure that the utility of the token is successful once it's introduced.

We have designed our currency to ensure that we distribute it quickly and directly into the hands (wallets) of our ever-growing network, both businesses and users. We want both parties to begin trading with it and allow business to begin issuing rewards to their loyal customer base.

I find this PXE project far more interesting and definitely usable compared with so many other ICO projects in the past, presently and even those who are coming ones. A project must have real-world uses or applications otherwise it can just be an exercise of futility or in the case of many ICOs just made-up to haul millions into their scamming purse. Pixie can be different and if the team will follow what they have envisioned (the roadmap) then this project can be leaving many legacies for the future generation of entrepreneur to appreciate. I rarely appreciate ICO projects these days but this is one that I like. I am looking for the formal bounty program aside from the airdrop in Twitter...if that can be possible. Thanks a lot.
