Title: "Sorry, you have been blocked". WTF is this?

Screenshot from phillipma1957 posted here
 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4567197.new#new)

Both phillipma1957 and I got this screen when attempting to post (negatively) in a self moderated thread here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4565688.0). Look here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4567197.new#new) for the reasons for the attempted posting.

What's going on? No other page access was affected.

Allowing newbies self moderated threads has got to stop, it's a fucking joke.

I got the same message after posting in the thread...

Was it when you hit the 'post' button or the 'reply' button. Reply works for me, but I didn't try to post a comment.

It will be something to do with cloudflare.

I got something similar recently while posting some sql command. Is supposed to be some kind of protection system of cloudflare indeed.

I wonder how he is picking it up then. I've just made a post, and deleted it.

I remember LoyceV had this problem I was helping setup his website - I believe it has something to do with your message contents.

Hopefully it's fine by him to quote the line that it happened to him in:

I'd be okay with any subdomain (LoyceVsBasement.domain.com) or LOVE* (domain.com/LoyceVsBasement). As long as I can upload through command line FTP I'm good to go.

* Replace "LOVE" by "directory". Cloudflare blocks (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2614247.msg%msg_id%) me if I type that! I've just reported that to theymos.

In the quoted link, someone else has a problem when they try to type out command prompt (except in the executable file name).

Do you still have/remember the message contents? It could be the same issue where you're trying to type out a blacklisted term on CloudFlare.

I've got a url shortening site, but I think it's use is banned in this forum.

Whenever this happens, please email or obfuscate-then-PM me what you posted. Cloudflare has a ton of rules, some of which seem useful (like detecting fake robots), but others do stupid stuff like that.

No problem :)

That message scares me each time it happens, and it can be triggered by the most unexpected sequence of text.

Yes, I was attempting to quote (for record) NotFuzzyWarm's post in this thread. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4565688.msg41173152#msg41173152) Even previewing that quoted post, I got the Blocked notification.
I have since retried by removing each component of the post separately, and still get it.
You have a go.

Edit: Bizarrely NFW has just (04.59:14) edited the post, but it still cannot be quoted without the Block notification appearing at preview stage.
Surely, if the term was blacklisted then it would have been picked up in the original post?

I looked into it a bit, but I couldn't figure out what was triggering it here. Next time it happens, click the back button, copy exactly what you were trying to post, put it on pastebin, and send me the link.

That "blocked" page is almost always a Cloudflare WAF false positive related to some data you submitted. If you're banned, you'll get a different message, and IP addresses are almost never blocked like this.

I can quote his post just fine:
For a start - wrong area folks! That is hardware - not software... Requested the mods to move this to Mining Speculation (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=81.0) for now.

So far gotta say this looks promising. Aside from being a company no one has heard of before I do not get any red flags yet -- and as folks who know me here will testify that is a VERY rare statement for me to make. edit: This may change of course as more info comes out.

Went to their site and in Chat asked the all-important question: Can these run on any sha256D pool or is asicboost support required. Answer is they run on ANY sha256d pool. Damn fine start.

Seriously thinking about ordering one to try out/review.

Are you still unable to? If so, then I suppose it's some sort of interaction between the post and some of your headers. Not sure.

Whenever this happens, feel free to obfuscate the post in order to bypass Cloudflare's blocking until I'm able to fix it permanently. Cloudflare isn't smart enough to notice this, and you certainly won't be banned for it.

You have a go.
If I remove the Subject:, I can preview the quote.
If I remove the quoted text, I can leave the Subject as is.

Cloudflare seems to be trigger happy on certain combinations of keywords.

I can quote his post just fine:
But can you add the title?

But can you add the title?
It's the "DOUBLE" plus the "(" and ")" strings in the title.

Edit:
@theymos: I can't quote your post (which is a quote of someone's else post). Can you bypass the Cloudflare rules?

@theymos: any chance your account has more access than mine? I can't quote your post above this one.

Update:
Quickseller makes it interesting edited the title :P

Maybe his IP address is while-listed, or is listed as someone who is normally performing certain functions? I am also blocked when I try to post that with the title.

Check my post above yours. It's probably the use of the "DOUBLE" string with any "(" or ")" after it;

Either remove the "DOUBLE" string or all the "(" and ")", and it will work.

I got blocked when I wanted to post the message saying that the post was off-topic for theymos (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4572498.msg41231582#msg41231582).

I tried it on different IPs and accounts which I know to not be explicitly whitelisted, and it always works. I guess CF is tracking IP/cookie reputation or something. Annoying.

Based on the responses of people here, I think that I found the trigger-happy rule and fixed it, though.

I just made a post to that thread and quoted @NotFuzzyWarm's entire post; no problems.

Unfortunately, it's a bit of a shitpost... please don't report to moderator!  :P

EDIT - Just saw theymos' last post which was made at the same time I wrote mine to the thread in question. If confirmed solved I'll delete my test post.

EDIT 2 - I deleted my post to that thread.

I guess my next question would be, why is NotFuzzyWarm able to post that in the thread? There are a number of red flags with what the OP of the thread is selling, NotFuzzyWarm is giving what is close to an endorsement and those trying to point out red flags are having their posts almost immidiately deleted.

This is correct. I've pm'd him twice to aware him of the red flags but he hasn't responded. I have started a scam accusation thread regarding ASGARD. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4567197.msg41169524#msg41169524)
Bizarrely, NFW's original post (two versions ago) read

I pm'd him to tell him that the identity mismatch I had noticed and posted about had been self modded.
Very shortly after that he edited the post to include the bolded

That really confused me. Even if he didn't rate the evidence of stolen photos (since deleted) how could it make him even more supportive??

The third edit is the addition of the back pedal phrase

He still has not acknowledged my pm's.
Strange.

Anyway, getting rather off this topic now, the Scam Accusation thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4567197.msg41233440#msg41233440) continues, and I'll lock this one.
Thanks for the inputs guys.
