So i finally got my own decentralized exchange by forking EtherDelta. I’m not sure what to do next. Any suggestions? If you wanna list for free let me know I’ll add your tokens. Download Metamask  to use it, as usual, don’t be putting your private keys in. I’m youtube expert but I’m not computer coding expert. Let me know if you have any suggestion on what I can or should do with it. Also how do you get on coinmarketcap? Thanks, any advises are much appreciated 👍👍👍 Let me know if any other DEX or cool decentralized app is open source 😋 I wanna make a bunch of other stuff for fun and practice.

I decided to change to ForkDelta UI instead, the right site is now at https://globaltradesignals.exchange

The site looks 100% like a clone of Etherdelta which is a red flag for those who are familiar with Etherdelta even with the warning not to enter a private key. One would simply assume your site's goal is mainly for phishing purpose. If your goal is to help list tokens for transactions, maybe something not looking like a cloned site will be better.

Secondly, the download metamask text should be converted to a text link for convenience to your site visitors.

I am not able to see your website, look like you have a hosting downtime or DNS issue. Following @kevoh you should change some things here and there to not look like Etherdelta otherwise people could consider it as a fake website. If you want to promote your website you should change the UI. I am not good but if you can change the colors and things like that.

You are not the first one to do this. There is already cloned version of etherdelta called deltafork and the pople behind it was part of the team, I think they had inside fight or something like this, also if your forked the site you should know that getting listed is not a must thing to be able to trade there, plus from the look of it you are taking this as serious you are just testing and practicing, do you really think that people should risk there money on a non serious project let a lone a clone site that do not need any real experience to make ! . And by the way you site is down .

There are a lot of more trusted exchange that the one you created and yet they wont be popular. This is not an easy job. If you are saying you did it alone then you are also the marketing team and you are everyone behind it then are you saying we should entrust everything to you? You can have records of our private keys and how can we make sure that you will not get it for your own purpose?
Just dont get a wrong thing of doing that. It will be jail time.

This is the clone of forkdelta. and we need to enter our private key. But I cant trust this. because there is no team there is nothing to get trust from the trader. so I think we should avoid this shit decentralized exchange and be safe with your own hard work money.

People, don't be bothered on the context of this post. The OP isn't serious on running this forked exchange. It's all clear that this is only for fun and serves as a practice for him.
He even suggested to use metamask and tips us to avoid putting private keys on it.
I don't see any bad intentions on this and in opposite, I admire him that he's testing out complex things like this.

I am curious what is your website looks like but unfortunately I can not access to your website, but seeing other replies to you that more suggestion to feature different display then I can guess your website display has similarity with etherdelta. I don't understand also that you said you are not an expert on computer coding or programmer, so if there is any technical problem is there any expert available to help you? This is important as I believe new platform launched shall be bugs, how can you debugging your platform?

For some reasons I am also not able to see the website. Most of the traders hate the UI of etherdelta so I too will suggest you to change it for something else. Also there are lots of decentralized exchanges popped up recently so you need to make something attractive if you want yours to be used by common trader.

I cloned EtherDelta at first, but then i decided that EtherDelta is outdated. so i re-forked it and use ForkDelta Github repository straight from Github official account of ForkDelta. Im 100% sure now that its safe because i checked the codes. But yeah, Im just doing this as a hobby right now and practice my coding. Im not expecting alot of support, just wanna see where this go. Regarding safety, since i checked the code and i used the official repository on Github, all the functions are exactly the same as ForkDelta, only visually different. Same order book, same volume, same pretty much everything. When you use decentralize exchange, you can download Metamask and it will automatically connect without entering the private key. The private key should never be entered online anyways.

Yeah, honestly I'm not an expert at all. Im an expert at googling stuff  ;D But I've been debugging the interface and working on improving the UI. It's not as hard as it looked, just in another language lol. It's a good learning experience on how computers and websites work so far for me as i now understand the files system and computer commands. Beside, Im not rewriting the smart contract or making the fee schedules, i just adjust the visuals, change links, adjust sizes  :P You can do that too with the developer tools on your browser.

Yeop, you nailed it right on the head. Im doing it as a side project, and to learn more about computer language, how Dapp and cryptocurrency works in general. My full time job is trading lol. Metamask should be use for all Dapps, and private keys should never be online anyways. I don't even create wallets online. Thanks for seeing my intention  ;D I only take people's money on Binance or BitMEX lol. You can find me on BitMEX trollbox all day  ;D

I never said it was complicated, it is very easy to clone it because it's only an interface that interacts with the smart contract that exists on the blockchain. It's decentralized because nobody is technically in charged. You can list it for free on EtherDelta, ForkDelta and any other forks that use the same original smart contract. I learned that because I made the fork  :P But an official listing provides Official display on the Token's directory and Volume column instead of a link (Which is how the original EtherDelta got hacked btw).  The only way something bad can happen is when the domain get hijacked and phished, or someone on the inside put in additional malicious code asides from the original smart contract code to record private keys. Using a Dapps browser wallet like Metamask can protect you from this. Plus i don't think anybody would be putting 100 ETH on my exchange or any other new exchange anyways, right? right?  :P I really hope not. I was thinking maybe like $10 worth of tokens here and there casually, and depends on the demand i'll scale it up. Just like anybody here, I don't wanna risk my hard earn money either lol. If there is a demand, I will supply.  ;D My site is up now.

I used the Forkdelta UI instead of EtherDelta now. I cloned the files directly from their repository on GitHub 😬👍

The exchange is not an actual exchange, it uses smart contracts to interacts with all the orders.

If there's a problem, click refresh. If Metamask doesn't load, refresh.

If transaction didn't go through, check gas price.

If your order got returned, someone bought it before you, probably paid higher gas fee.

It's the same smart contract with EtherDelta and ForkDelta, which mean your orders will show up on the other forks as well, i put an order in for VERI and saw it on ForkDelta lol.

The exchange runs itself.  ;D I'll list some tokens for free, but the site hosting still needs to be paid, by me, so it's reasonable for me to charge the listing fee and make updates.   :P Just being honest here. If there is a high demand, i'll up the service. If for some weird reason this gets popular, ill put the profit aside to make my own smart contract and collect the trading fee, then i'll hire people, lower the trading fee and do more free listings because of residual income. You don't know why you even forked it or what to do this is why you will likely to fail, forkdelta is successful because it has not been forked from etherdelta for no reason.

Fail to make profit on the listing, probably  ;D I knew why I fork it, i learned new stuff.  :P I don't make any money off of fee people pays to trade anyways lol. If there is no demand then I still have my own trading interface my friends and I can use to trade with Etherdelta's volume. There is no different between my exchange and ForkDelta's interface, but here I'm the admin!  8)

Major improvements? No. Selling points? none. I have my twitter feed on it and i give free trading signals so that could be considered improvement lol. I don't get fee from any trade, and I said i'll list some tokens for free right now to see how is the demand. IF i have a good amount of traffic going to my site by watching Alexa or Google analytic THEN i'll start to charge for listing fee of 0.5 - 0.8 ETH or something ridiculously cheaper than other exchanges. Plus it's immediately respond to listing. I'm already watching ICOs on ICObench anyways. If I like the coins, I'll list it for cheap. If it's a really good project, i'll do it for free lol. It takes me literally 30 seconds to add a token.  ;D The main overhead cost is the traffic hosting for me.

Just as a request to keep people safe what you should do is a have some popups for people to use metamask on the site instead of exposing their private keys to you. This is, without a doubt, going to help in making people feel more secure on this site (even if your main goal isn't to get customers, it's just to have a little hobby on the side)

I must say this is pretty cool though, may I ask what code you're proficient in? I may have some work that I may need done, unrelated to Bitcoin completely but I am looking for some coders.

I'm learning coding as a hobby right now, Im learning how to build automatic bots in Python. What do you need done? I'm specialize in trading, data analysis and i do market advising for ICOs. I know a lot of developers that are more capable I don't mind connecting you with. I can build websites, especially Wordpress since it's easy.  ;D Wordpress has plugins for crypto stuff too, I was contracted for a few builds and they seem happy with it. I accept major coins, tokens, free lifetime services, plaster my name on your site, free puppies... lol Like I said, its a hobby Im learning. I'm not greedy, if all you need is advises i can just give you for free.
