Encrypted Bitcoin Wallet - Generate a new BIP38 wallet or generate a BIP38 wallet from an existing private key or vanity address. Create a distributed passphrase backup to ensure your passphrase is protected. Perfect for long-term Bitcoin storage.

Print on 4x6 photo paper for a high quality and long lasting paper wallet.

You can try it yourself here: https://encryptedbitcoinwallet.com (https://encryptedbitcoinwallet.com)

Wallet generation is done client-side using Javascript. No data is returned to my server.

The project is open source and available on Github as a fork of bitaddress.org to help ease auditing: https://github.com/iceburn2003/encryptedbitcoinwallet.com (https://github.com/iceburn2003/encryptedbitcoinwallet.com)

Note: Internet Explorer users, be prepared to wait over a minute to generate your wallet.

After making a few wallets manually in an image editor I decided to customize bitaddress.org to make encrypted wallets to my specifications including support for distributed password backups.

Distributed passphrase backups are a key feature of the site. The shares of the passphrase backup can be distributed to several people or places without exposing the passphrase itself. If the passphrase is forgotten or the passphrase holder is gone, the passphrase can be recovered by combining the requisite number of shares.
