Last December or prior to that, FOMO was very real. You will see that everyday bitcoin rose like $500-$1000 or even more. Personally, I was able to get on board before the madness that was December. So I didn't FOMO that much however, I was really amazed as how many irrational buyers are there around that. time. Well maybe being agitated in not good though. I think its better to used our common sense and think everything and not just FOMO in my opinion.

I experience FOMO usually on some new coins/tokens that I learn about. Unfortunately I always learn about them just after they pumped in price. I've definitely learned my lesson. So right now, due to lots of lost money due to FOMO, I stay patient. Always waiting for a correction if ever the coin/token has already increased in price significantly. Patience is key.

when the price of bitcoin reach to $19k i was decide to buy and i expect the price will rise up more than $20k because at that time all of market were uncontrollable with dominate by green mark and my biggest mistakes is i was hold my bitcoin even though bitcoin already hit to $20k but apparently that was big mistakes and eventually to solved downtrend situations i was decide to cut loss

FOMO is a very common psychology in this market because a lot of strong bull growth in a short time has led many FOMO followers and as a result they often fail. Be prepared for the psychology and proper investment to avoid FOMO in the cryptocurrency market.

Going FOMO do give me sometimes either positive or negative results but mostly i do experience on the negative side. When you are still on a state where you do lack experience and knowledge will always lead into bad results. FOMO when the price is rising rapidly but you didnt even notice that you are already late on such decision and later on you would realize that you had already bought on the ATH range.

I FOMO in a lot of coin this January because I was new in the market and thought the best time to buy is to rush and buy when the price is going up so as not to miss the project.

My first fomo - TOMO in march. Bought some under 0.00087 ETH.
The next day I waited for the lower price to buy more.
Went to sleep, but in the end I spent hours checking the price on my cell and was lying in bed chating with people in Tomo Telegram chat.
At one moment I said to myself, that's it, I logged in to Binance, sold some ADA for ETH, moved it to MM, went to Idex and put an order.
Then went to bed again, tried to sleep but then wasn't able to do (again) it so I canceled order, market bought it and was finally happy. ::)

Bubbles start pouring out of my trousers.

That's when I know it's time to put down the internet and go outside.

These days I've been around long enough to know FOMO is when you should start thinking of doing the exact opposite of what you want to do. It rarely ends well. You want to be the one provoking it, not yielding to it.

I think that's a rite of passage ;)

Also... For Tomo I researched everything, I liked the project and that was the reason for fomo.

But the real fomo (as I think of it) - I bought few coins just because of the crazy Twitter shills, Eve, Auc, Sgn...
That was on the spur of the moment. Didn't even checked some indicators. Was thinking about it for few minutes, checked their web, Twitter and stupidly jumped in. Even today I can't believe how stupid I was. Jumped in because I needed more ETH for some ICOs, I had a plan to sell everything after few days... Let's say I'm a mini bagholder now. :D

The FOMO is real but it is not something I have experimented myself, at the time when bitcoin was skyrocketing I did not had any more money to invest so I knew that I had no chance to put more money in bitcoin and that is probably what saved me from having those feelings and investing at the worst possible time, this showed to me that I still have things to improve since I was basically saved by my own luck.

had the same experience when I first invested all my savings to bitcoin and that was my college years, felt uneasy and unable to concentrate, cant even control myself not to look at live trades. I don't like the feeling of investing what you can't afford to lose  :P the anxiety of losing everything was very high. So I ended up selling and missed the ath after the fork  ;D and buying again due to FOMO

If you are a newbie it might be difficult for you cause you have not experience or have that fear of losing out cause you will always have the feeling that everyone is leaving you behind and you are or might or will loss out if you don't invest immediately. It's a normal phase, even it happens with experienced cryptos enthusiast. You should not let it over take you, you should be able to know what your next action will be.

When you are talking about FOMO then there is a greed, people are afraid they are going to lose the chance to make profit, I restrained myself to do FOMO, because when we do trade based on the FOMO, most of the time we ignore all the analysis and market condition, just put all of our money and it is quite dangerous

My experience following the FOMO is when there is an Airdop Ethreum Classic.
If it is not wrong to hold Ethreum Classic then you will get ETC "Diamond".

And when in question to telegram group it turns out it is not from the development team, but from the people who so fun to enter coinmrketcal.com .

FOMO can be extremely heart wrenching.  I've learned my lesson in the past by selling too early and the thoughts still linger with me.  I prefer to sell my stack off in portions so that if the price keeps rising I'm not depressed.  I know its cliche but it's better to just hodl long term because thats the best way to get guaranteed gains.  The crypto market is extremely hard to time and trying to buy the bottom or sell the top will be a game of luck.

I have experienced this twice when I am trading.

First is when QLC has been listed on Binance and second is when the VERY BIG PARTNERSHIP of VERGE with PORNHUB (FUCK THEM). When I did this, I felt a little regret and sadness but I am thinking "I got FOMO'ed because of my own emotions". I lost some of my money because of myself too so I need to move on and don't think of it too much because it will depress me if I did.

Most newbies experienced being FOMO'ed and lets think that if we got FOMO'ed, its either you sell your coins at a loss or hold it. In any way, we must ready to face the consequences :)

of 2017.

Yes, when I was tormented by FOMO, I really did not sleep well. I thought for a long time before going to bed, and then all the time I woke up I checked the price  ;D. Fortunately, I learned to quickly fight this feeling. I adhered to the rule not to buy a coin when its pamp. So I didn't regret that I didn't buy something, I clearly understood that I adhere to a clear rule, so I was no longer tormented by FOMO.

So far i didn't get to experience this too much because i've been following a certain rules and guidelines. So that if i experience that FOMO maybe is it because i don't want to get lost as much than my investment today compared before. By the time goes by you will eventually be more careful of your action.

It is very common for FOMO to start entering into the cryptocurrency market and most new investors are faced with it. FOMO makes it possible for traders to continue trading without preparation or planning, which will lead to very poor results.

Always. Just a little pump makes me jump and says to myself I might be lacking bitcoin before it pumps to the heavens.

It already happened so there is a chance it could always come back.
Problem is it just take days so you always got to be ready.
Panic sellers want profit so they will do it no matter what. Dumping the price of bitcoin.

Fomo is a feeling where you bought at high price or in a hype and thinks that it will go according to your will which is going higher. I don't feel sleepless instead, i am always watching the chart the whole day for its price to go up.and sell withoit a clue. That's a fomo you are in fear of missing out the opportunity but in the end the worst is you loss.

FOMO is a feeling when a certain coin is on the increase momentum in a short time other Trader will have a great deal of sales from the sale and this prompts you to buy that coin immediately to make a profit. This action is called FOMO.

I have been here long enough to not get really expressive on these kinds of ups and downs. These swings do not make me feel anything anymore, the last one has went down for a long time before going up again so it was a financial crisis for me for a while however it is a lot better now.
The FOMO is just something I see and get a bit happy about the day I will have. Like if I see a good movie came out or something like that, nothing major but not like finding a penny in your pocket neither.

I can not avoid, I believe, everyone must experience these feelings, in order to gain experience and learn to recognize them. And this will happen all the time until you take all of this experience, and you will be able to go further. It is very difficult to resist this, especially when all media, forums, people who surround you, tell you, sell or buy!
There is such a rule, if you sit down to trade, you want to replenish your portfolio, sit down and just think, what are you experiencing now? What emotions?)
If they are, take your hands off it and go take a walk)))

Last year I bought BTC at $6k and later on at $ 8k before the hype started and had no Fiat to invest further so I missed
the FOMO. But in general I never invest in coins if they are rising 2-10 times in short period. My last investment in XRP
last year was at $0.5 before it went to $3.4 . Some of my friends were buying at $2-3 and I warned them on the risk
that it could crash later on.

Well, I think we all have experimented something like FOMO but the most important thing is to never fall victim of this, when we were at the beginning of December of 2017 I was very nervous and like most people regretting not investing more in bitcoin when I had the chance, but fortunately since I knew what was FOMO I understood that investing at that moment would be a mistake and that saved me.

I bought bitcoin at a higher price believing the experts that it will go up much more. But, now I'm still holding some if it with the expectation of rising up. This is my FOMO experience.

So you bought when the price was already going down? If that is the case then that is not FOMO that was just terrible timing, the price at which you bought is not terrible but at that point it was obvious that we will need to touch the bottom before the price became stable again and that there was not any chance to see any kind of recovery, I just hope that you learned your lesson since then.

Fomo is everywhere mate, and that bad timing we had experienced was just a bad dreams for us. However the lessons learned makes you stronger in the next picking of coins to invest with your trading assets plan. All of us who became good traders had such experiences like this when we're just starting to roll over our money with cryptocurrency.

December last year is  for  the first times iam in FOMO and just thinking the price will keep going up more. Then iam decided to hold all my crypto and hopely the price going up more,  but the market did different thing,  all crypto was going down and i missed huge profit.  so we should be avoid FOMO whenever put money in to crypto because in crypto market there are always top price and bottom price.

I got Fomo last time from altcoins especially ICO tokens newcomers to exchanges and their product releases most of them are from my bounty that time I got it that it makes me want to borrow some money to my friends good to know I got nothing from them neither I got much money that time so I did not get into that hype now the price was really worse beyond the ICO and the last time is the December hype but I just invested little money.

I experience this thing before when the market is on a great bull run before and before of that greed I lose some of my money. Luckily I was able to exit early that time, well I've learned a lot from that experience and it proves to me that FOMO is really not a good emotion. We must not follow that trend, not unless you hold that coin since the beginning of the hype then you have the chance to take profit during the peak. Its too risky, so be careful when buying a hype coin.

I believe this is true.
One friend of mine got the idea of riding the boat or should I say the Titanic.
They all saw it like it will go to more like 50-100k dollars because of the sudden increase in price.
I too almost taught about that. Pushed him to get in and I hope he is not blaming me anything.

It was almost real to me until I see that there is something wronng.
Made him to get back the investment if he did one and wait for a few more days before buying again.
But as we can see a sudden dump came that week which I think I saved him from a sudden hell. ;D

Hi everyone,

We all been there and still do it but everyone does things differently 8). That is when I was in my FOMO mentality I was sleepless and agitated. How did you experience it? So curious to know ;D

I believe this is true.

That was a close call because you like it or not your friends will definitely blame you up if he do caught on that pump. These are the common mistakes of a certain investor where we do buy coins when they are pumping.I dont know why us dont consider on buying while the price is in the bottom yet this is the right timing or opportunity for us to get in and secure out our places on possible gains when the market recovers or reversed.

Fear of missing out - FoMO. Obsessive fear of missing an interesting event or a good opportunity. FoMO is also often called a sense of regret.
It is the fear of losing the profit most often and leads us on the exchange to the fact that we really lose this benefit in reality!
To combat FoMO, I use the following steps:
- a clear plan drawn up before I start buying or selling anything. I calculate the point of purchase and the point of sale.
- After issuing an order, I just start doing something else. I calculate and open the next deal or just leave the laptop and do other important things.
If after the sale, the price continues to grow, then I try not to regret. After all, I made a calculation and it turned out to be correct, I earned money, so why should I regret it? This will be a waste of the most important resources: time and moral strength.

My first FOMO experience was when I bought BTCTC in aroung 11,000$
thinking it might go back to 15,000$ up
So you bought when the price was already going down? If that is the case then that is not FOMO that was just terrible timing, the price at which you bought is not terrible but at that point it was obvious that we will need to touch the bottom before the price became stable again and that there was not any chance to see any kind of recovery, I just hope that you learned your lesson since then.

Fomo is everywhere mate, and that bad timing we had experienced was just a bad dreams for us. However the lessons learned makes you stronger in the next picking of coins to invest with your trading assets plan. All of us who became good traders had such experiences like this when we're just starting to roll over our money with cryptocurrency.
While FOMO is everywhere as you say at the same time it is way more likely that people buy for that reason when the price is going up, because they feel they are going to miss in a lot of profits if they do not invest right now and they do this without thinking that perhaps we are in the middle of a bubble, as we were, so buying for FOMO when the price is going down is a little bit odd to say the least.

I have observed the main thing that FOMO takes place when there is the uncertainty and the core root of uncertainty lies in the lack of research and confidence on that research. I have lost my capital multiple times in my initial days of trading when I used to trade based on others opinion just because I didn't have my research or with me so any update was enough to put me into the FOMO mentality and that was really a bad experience.

Trust in your own analysis and set up your stop-losses correctly. There's no need to be anxious when doing so, if the worst-case-scenario happens while you sleep, if your SL is placed correctly you should lose maximum of ~1% of your investment. That's all.

FOMO into pumps is ludacrious, every parabolic price action should be traded with caution. "What goes up in an escalator, comes down in a elevator"
