Not a Ponzi scheme. They just played and lost everyone's BTC and USD (although I am sure they intended to play and win), so they had to replace them with Goxcoin and Goxbux.......

.......and now they can't pay everyone back.

Perhaps if the price can be crashed to $100 or something, Mr Karpeles can get back the BTC that he needs to level with Gox's customer base and make some profit for all his great efforts, and then everyone will be happy, right?

Is not a ponzi scheme. It 's a proof on how even the best things and most profitable ones , when having some clowns for workers can turn into a mess where people are losing money.

I have to agree that with this

Perhaps if the price can be crashed to $100 or something, Mr Karpeles can get back the BTC that he needs to level with Gox's customer base and make some profit for all his great efforts, and then everyone will be happy, right?

But to have got in to that position ,they may well have been playing  a classic ponzi scheme along time ago, hence all the withdrawal problems, unless the price drops a lot more ,no-one apart from a couple of teaser withdrawals to keep the masses quite, will see there cash or coins. I'm not buying this blockchain issue they have had serious problems since  July last year,so why no fix?
The worst part for the whole crypto world,Bitcoin may well get labelled, wrongly because of Gox incompetence

PONZI

and that's all the matters when it comes to regulation and new investment

all the mainstream investment will vanish just like the GOX bitcoins

This will not end well, damage limitation needs implementing ASAP

They sound like a bank. What did they actually do with the money?

You apparently have no idea what "ponzi scheme" even means. ::)

What almost every people who have suddenly found themselves immersed in cash do. Spend it around like morons. (one possibility).
