Title: There are no more escrow services?
Post by: Flashstein on July 03, 2018, 12:49:44 PM
As a new member around here i started talking with another member to buy miners from him etc. I contacted the escrow accounts around here (even the ones that are painted in red now) and nobody responded. I did my research and noticed that most of those accounts are already sold out to scammers. Why there isnt a ban policy for that? Is someone responsible or controlling for that sector, or there is some service here that i don't know of? Please enlighten me. Thank you.  :)

Most likely, you used an outdated thread.

Because it's not against the rules:

18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.

is some service here that i don't know of?
Yes, refer to this thread: Recommended bitcointalk escrow services (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0)

this thread is still live look for more escrow providers here for detailed information with there thread. Escrow agents usually charge some thing from you for holding the funds. in some case Seller rejects the escrow service and deal closed. Due to high escrow fees. IF buyer ready to bear fees the escrow person come to deal with seller and buyer if amount is bigger such as 0.10 Btc or 1 btc many more.

- I went through the same phase recently and I can understand how frustrating it could be to find a suitable escrow for your deal. Most of the highly trusted accounts are too busy to reply or just don't have  interest in the deal.

- I would rather go with an escrow who has lesser trust ratings but is very responsive and active whilst the deal is in progress. I suggest messaging Lutpin/minerjones but not sure if they take such deals.

You don't have to go with an escrow from any list, but anyone who you have dealt with in the past who you think is reputable, usually at least DT2 green trust for me with multiple sizeable past transactions, and understands the process of escrow (which is simple and most reputable people on the site should know how it works) should be up for the task. I haven't used anyone on any 'list' for escrow in quite some time, but I haven't been scammed since my first few months on Bitcointalk.

If you choose to go down this path and aren't sure who will escrow for you, just message whoever you think fits the profile of a potentially good escrower. Some people don't accept messages from newbies, but it really cannot hurt to ask- asking's extremely underrated these days. :)

I can't tell myself if any of these are still active but I'm pretty sure we've got some regulars who continue to offer escrow services, perhaps you should just be patient and clear in your approaches to them. You can also consider using some escrow services online although I fully support efforts to do everything P2P.

SFR10's list is by far the best, and more than half of those there I recognise and trust myself. SFR10 is on that list himself, so there you go, one fully active escrow provider.

Who are those escrows you contacted? they have a life to live so maybe they are busy with their own lives. And you didn't know that one escrow posted already and replied to this thread.  :D

You may contact SFR10 himself if you still want to use an escrow.

Or while looking at that list, check their "Last Active" dates on when is the last time they logged in here in forum and contact those that logged in recently.

Online escrows are a big fraud and not to be trusted. I mean they have nothing to lose if a big amount is involved in a trade. Most of them from the list are just 'active' but not actively escrowing deals. So I would suggest people going beyond that list and using somebody you personally/professionally trust.

The experience does count and the type of service they provide also makes a big difference. For instance, an escrow that does account deals will be a bad choice for a trade between a programmer and a client.

You should pay close attention as there are still many escrows that provide excellent service. Look at the liveliness and usually an escrow will create a thread that specifically addresses the transactions they are doing. I'm sure you can do the analysis and that's a pretty easy thing, choose your best version of escrow and take a look at the reputation of each escrow you're analyzing. congratulations to conduct financial transactions with a trusted escrow premises and also convince the business you have.

There are many trusted escrows you can find in the forum. I think you may checked with the busy or the escrow who might be in offline that time. Please use this updated thread link to find the escrow mate.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0

I suggest you to go with SebastianJU, Lutpin, Ognasty, Actmyname or Blan4code

You may not find the two people in this list on that link. You may search them member search bar.

Escrow isn't something that is controlled or moderated by anyone. Anyone is able to become an escrow given that you are trusted enough and there is demand for your services within the community. If someone goes scam, then they will be given negative trust, however, they won't be banned.

I don't know why you can't find any escrow, because clearly, there is a ton. Look around the services section, and you should find some trustworthy ones that are still active. However, just be careful because a lot aren't trusted at all. Ask around the community before going with one particular person.

I personally would trust Darkstar (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2724325.msg27877712#msg27877712 is his escrow thread), and SebastianJu. Both of them are fairly active. Darkstar only charges 0.0005 BTC or 0.7% of the escrow amount, which is pretty much close to 0 fees.
