Im dual mining ETH + SMART and this days the profit is going down.

Same problens with new upgrad in smart? Still dont know.

Are u still dual mining? And if yes what are u mining?

I stopped dual mining few months ago because it increased my power consumption and electricity is quite expensive in my country, and it's currently not as profitable as it used to be.

I compared dual mining Eth+ any of the Sia/Pas/Lbr/Dcr which pair well with only mining Eth and the result was that it looks better to mine Eth both in performance of the cards, less heat and less consumption.

And that so called 20% increase in profit , I didn't see it anywhere, I was making with Nicehash 1.01 mBtc daily with mining only Eth and doing the same amount dual mining , but in dual mining paying more electricity and putting more burden to the cards.

I think it is not worthy to continue dual mining.

Not anymore. I tested it heavily but the power consumption is much higher compared to solo mining and therefore the cards need more cooling and for me the noise level was just too high.

Furthermore there is no real profit with dual mining in my opinion. You will have a negative ROI when you take the electricity cost into consideration.

No, dual mining has died out thanks to the very high difficulty level on the secondary coins you would be able to mine. Just mine one of the coins - less noise from the GPU cooling fans and lower electric bill ;)

Would dual mining still make sense for people with free electricity? If so, which coin is most profitable?

Yes it would make sense for people with free electricity. Dual mining is about Ethereum and choosing another altcoin to dual mine with. Based on many computers I manage and I have seen running from some months now, I can say that the pair which was most profitable for most of the time was/is Ethereum/Decreed.

I tried dual mining for ETH/DCR pair, no luck. Profit was not so big as I expected, while power consumption became sooo high. So I gave up dual mining, I see no point in it.

Im just a new bitcoiner and i dont know anything about mining and stuff. But i think dual mining helps many people cause its easy to earn money just by mining and you dont have to go outside of your house. And i know it will help many other people. Keep up the good work. 👍👌

You are right ! " You dont know anything about mining and stuff"  ;D

The profitability of mining Smart has fallen very low. I mined this coin in the winter but then I realized that it is more profitable for me to disable double mining because the Smart pool takes a lot. This coin has ceased to exist for me. Probably for this reason, the price of Smart are reduced. I can say the same about the other coins. After the appearance of asics dual was not interesting.

profit is subjective to the entire eco system of BTC BTC.

I am mining BiblePay (BBP), it is CPU Mining Only coin,
so it would be great to add to dual mine setup, GPU + CPU
With Ryzen 7 1700 I am getting $1-3/day

I have not been working on dualism since DCR

Never tried dual mining but I think it can hurt your cards if push your card on dual mining.
Solo mining is fine to me and I think it can give me more profit and less power consumption.

However, if you are not paying for electricity bill why not try to mine other coins with ethereum but don't expect to live your cards longer.

I tried claymore's eth and dcr before asics killed dcr for gpu, but I lost 10% of my eth hashrate when compared to Phoenix mining eth alone.  I've tried a couple of other coins since, but nothing turned out to be as profitable as Phoenix.

Nice point of view.

I dont pay the electric build so i prefer dual but u turn in important point.
I just need then to work for 2 years that is the ensure lol but love to work more time.

Since i dual with smart or verge or dcr i always get like 40 euros a month and now if i get 25 is good :( so im thinking leave dual mining.
And the days becaming more hot and single mining dont give much heat as dual.

Thanks again thinking on that

Not counting with that lol

The last few months I use only ethereum mining, although I used to mine sia or decred. But in terms of energy consumption, decided that only the ether mining is more profitable.

I was doing dualmining almost for year. At the beginning I mined sia just for fun! Then I switched to decred I found that quite profitable. That was year ago. In the beginning of this year I switched to XVG dualmining. Since prices are down now and difficulty is up because of asics almost nothing is minable with profit on dual mode right now. MAX coin can give some small profit if electricity is not very expansive!

I have tried mining many different coins in dual mode. Previously it was profitable but after some coins killed asics some coins increased the difficulty I don't use this mode. Dual reduces the life of the GPU while the profit from dual is now minimal. Even if you do not pay for electricity it is not profitable.
