They aren't actually double spends. Blockchain needs to fix their definition... Duplicate transactions with different txid's are fine and no cause for alarm. Transaction maliability is irrelevent to bitcoin functioning. Pretty useless for the attacker but also pretty annoying for the users to have the client filled by all those unconfirmed transactions... And I can bet that some novice might get scared and think they are spending their coins twice. |
