The past year has seen the rise of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The increase as witnessed in the cryptoworld attracts many investors, ranging from those who understand the ideology of Bitcion and newbies whose idea was to get rich quick from investing into Bitcion world. The growth in cryptomarket also leads to increase in cybercriminals. The rate at which hackers were attacking exchanges are on the increase.

I just need your suggestion on how to curb menace of hackers in order to build investors confidence in this cryptoworld to optimum level.

Due to give performance & get popularity of the crypto currency had attracted to investors. There for the result hackers are also alert & attack on investors who want to become rich very soon.crypto currency should be controlled to hackers, gave confidence to investors.

Teach people to follow recommended security practices when handling cryptocurrency + educate them on the technical basics + create pressure on 3rd party services to implement most secure solutions (i.e. multisig wallets).

If you want hackers to disappear, you need to take the opportunities away from them, meaning legit users need to do their homework.

Do you mean prone to hacking. It does not necessarily mean that if you have bitcoin you have a huge tendency that you will be hacked. If you are not very careful then you may be a victim of small time hackers. But we cannot deny the fact that big exchanges have been hacked and they lost huge amount of bitcoin amounting to millions to billions of dollars in value.

there is a lot of unethical hackers that they do what they want to get money we cant do anything about that

I am blaming the developers of exchangers, They have to put more priority on cybersecurity. We know that hackers are using every means and are using different ways to hack. It is like our residence, as arm robbers are using different ways to penetrate people house, people  also solidify  security of their houses.

It is impossible to curb hackers. But who forces you to keep cryptocurrencies on the exchange? After the auction, take them to a cold store and there will be a very small probability that you will be robbed. It seems to me that the security of your funds is your problem and those who neglect security pay for it with their money.

Crypto currencies are pretty new thing for the world and exchangers or wallet's for its storage appear like mushrooms after the rain, normally not all of them can guarantee the necessary level of protect to customers' founds. That's the reason why cyber criminal is blossoming.

Crypto currency is working on hackers so that the coins get safe. This would be really great. The investors will get more motivation.

As the crypto currency has gained huge popularity and importance it is attracted to enormous people as well as the hackers.

the "cryptoworld" is not prone to hacking. people are. and they have always been as soon as computers and the internet were invented and they started using them without educating themselves first. it is a bunch of simple security measures that if you follow you will be safe from all of the hacks and malicious attempts to rob you.
and it is not the reason for lack of investors. at least not the main reason. the main reason is all the FUD that is around in the media against bitcoin. when the public is bombarded with negative statements from famous people like Warren Buffet, Jaime Dimon,... constantly talking about bitcoin and attacking it, they won't feel safe naturally to buy bitcoin.

Crypto's are connected to the web, blockchain can't be penetrated by anyone but attackers can delay and spam it which causes it to slow down.

If you are not a good keeper of your details and you aren't checking URLs properly, you are the most prone person that can be hacked.

The blockchain technology cannot be hacked and it's a decentralized system that's why it is very hard. Bitcoin too is hack proof. Major hacks have been happening in cryptocurrency because many people that don't study the technology went careless with their innovations. The hacks happen through third party websites. So it's best for people to understand how to protect themselves and avoid exposing their private keys to any how.

It's not just limited to the Crypto world but any new invention has this threat. I believe that the only answer and solution for this issue is building mass awareness among the users to reduce the impact of hacker's efforts. All internet stuff are prone to hackers. Not even just cryptocurrency but also social media accounts, bank accounts and also your car systems. Hackers are unbelievably frightening that even hackers can be hacked. So if you dont want to become a victim, keep yourself a private one.

Sad to say but yeah it is true, it's just there are some people doing illegal stuff here in cryptoworld not just hacking, there are many kinds of evil doings here like scams, using Bitcoin to buy some drugs and othersstuff like that. But hacking is the most popular one. Like me earlier i have visited again another myetherwallet phishing site, luckily i did not give any private key cause i felt there is something wrong about that site and yes i am right, my friend confirmed to me that it was a phishing site. Lesson learned again  ;D, and the best way to counter those hackers is to become vigilant.

Yes but there are many reasons why their crypto getting hack and one of it is the frequent accessing on their digital wallet where hackers could phished out their private key and wallet address. Aside from that there are fraudsters also claiming to be an admin or marketing officer offering good things in return to submit a form which ask for private key and they already phished out by the hackers.

I agreed partly. If you look at the current situation, so many exchanges have been hacked and traders have a lost a lot.

It is not that if you own a Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, you are already prone from hacking. It will always depends on how you handle or secure your cryptocurrencies, if you are careless then there's a huge chance that you will get hacked. So what can be the solution? Since we cannot stop hackers, what we can do is to learn how to protect our investments by our own, do not trust any third party services to do it for you, like leaving your coins on exchanges because exchanges are the primary targets of hackers because they hold huge amount of different cryptocurrencies and even exchanges have good securities, there is no perfect system and all has its vulnerabilities. So what you can do to make your coins safe is to hold it by your own.

Considering the recent incidences, yes it is true hackers primary target has been shifted towards cryptocurrency holders and exchange platforms. We can probably be safe by beend extra careful which site we enter our details like private key and the rest. We also need to activate all the security measures with a particular wallet to keep our funds safe

I think it will be hard to avoid hacking. Avoiding hacking is tantamount to avoiding theft in the real world, even if the security forces catch a thief there will be another thief who commits a crime.

Of course when we say money, it is too powerful and me, you or us want an easy money that can get more easily.  They not think on what happen if they got your money because he didn't know you when they got it.  In every advantage, there are disadvantage to get better life because they are no scammers when they can't scam anyone, so please be careful because when the scammer they get hard, it don't do it but there are a chance that they change they plan.

We cannot eliminate scam but we can reduce it.

bitcoin earns a massive rate of popularity among the users because of their facilities but the problem is that eventually it attract the hackers as well , that's doesn't mean if you have bitcoin you will definitely face this problem it can only happenes if you stay careless about your wallet security.

I have to admit that I have read a thread saying an ICO was hacked and lost all of their investments.The manager is the one responsible in returning the money of the investors which is worth 1million. this kind of things might leave a big wound to bitcoin especially that it is known for its blockchain technology.

Everything that is online can be hacked. There is various measures that can be taken to stop the fraud and hacking event.
Website also get hacked but with passing time security is enhanced, system make more robust.
But here in crypto world anonymousity is taken so much precedence that you do not know is hack claims are really true or not.
Since field is not regulated by government as such , even known owners has no incentive to spend in security.
System hacked or not hacked, they are taking their profits and I did not hear any high level executive went to jail because of negligence in security aspects.

I agree with this fact that the hackers increases when the market condition is good. As the market contains more money at that time for this reason the hackers do target a lot. For this reason carefulness has no alternative. You must have to be careful while doing transactions and keep the wallet offline after the transactions are done.

actually the role of hackers in cryptocurrency is also important because they also need bitcoins to make transactions. I do not think hackers ever hack into an exchange, if hackers hack on one of those crypto exchanges, it means there is an irregularity or something wrong in the exchange. My perspective is like that.

Mainly it’s not true also this types of news have enough value based on this it’s really impossible to hack this crypto market based on this situations it can be but it’s possible with wallet or other but not in this market also few days ago news was different case.  ::)

hackers attack wallets and account only when they have the chance to, if your wallets are secure properly with 2fa and other security measures, there is no way you can be hacked.

All I can say is that your security and safety is in your hands. Everyone will take responsibility for that. Keep your wallet details and keys safe, don't keep your assets on exchanges, don't give your details to a third party. These are all that is needed to be done.

One reason why there are still a lot of hackings in crypto is that the users are lacking the knowledge to keep themselves secure. People still fall to a phishing scam, malware, etc. So how to keep yourself secure?

1. Never download anything suspicious from unreputable source. Always verify!
2. Put 2FA on all accounts. Use a Google authenticator instead of email/phone authentication.
3. Use hardware wallets.

Hackers are everywhere even in social media there are lots of them hacking accounts.So its not different in crypto.When there is money involved theres always those type of illegal jobs.Thats why you should be more careful in every actions taken and do not trust anyone especially when it comes to your account.

It's only normal when a community grows the consequences of harmful situations also increases. However, Bitcoin has always been safer to use than most other cryptocurrencies which makes it the most trusted one. Nevertheless, it's always good to be extra cautious and not fully dependent on anything.

Yes many hacker right now are using and creating fake site to victim the other people who cannot understand and cannot see the safe site at the top of the URL im also the victim but im sure im using a safe site and my account was hack and nothing left in my account i was so angry on my self i want to kill that hacker stupid they need to teach a good lesson they are studying but they do not use it properly.

There are really some people who wants to take advantage of other peoples weaknesses. Today on wards, hacking will be the most profitable hobby but this can create very bad impact into crypto discouraging people to use it. The blockchain itself is unhackable but due to human error and carelessness hacking has been very rampant nowadays. yes right, does not mean if you have bitcoin you will be hacked. if you keep it in the wallet it might be a bit more secure. some time ago many exchanges that have been hacked we can not do anything. I have some tokens that I save and I still use the mew address and stay safe. recommendation from me use hard wallet like ledger or trazor.

We need to hold our horses right here, Hackers can get a hold of your private keys, your passwords and bank accounts but I don't think they can hack directly the crypto currency, they can just hack a wallet of either a user or an exchange. When your store your coins in an offline wallet, your coins are safe. It's almost impossible to find the private key. But an exchange or any other website can be hacked. It's same as a facebook account or an Instagram account.

Anyway, those hackers target large companies, BIG people and even like us, downloading software thru online makes you prone to it, unless you store your coins using cold storage or if you are able to use two-way authentication. Maybe what you mean is "prone" to hackers not "prune" to hackers. If that is what you mean, then yes, I think BTC is. Because now, BTC is the largest honeypot bounty to whoever will be able to hack the bitcoin network. But goodluck to them because the bitcoin network itself is unhackable. But which is the next best thing to hack after the bitcoin network itself? It is the people who hold cryptocurrencies and bitcoin in their own wallets by hacking their passwords for their wallets. You can't blame them at all, there are just people who wants easy money and one of doing this is to hack someones account and steal his/her money  and identity. Exchanges also learns from the past and developing the security of their website to a optimum level. We don't know the other vulnerabilities of an exchange just like what happen to etherdelta in which i thought a unhackable exchange but the hackers find a way to penetrate users information by attacking the DNS. I just suggest that these exchanges should update their security and reward those who can see its vulnerabilities.
