Title: Poll on the telegraph about bitcoin please vote
Post by: Axewax on February 11, 2014, 08:11:43 AM
Matthew sparks has written an article about bitcoin,

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/10628946/Fewer-than-one-in-five-Britons-trust-Bitcoin.html

There is a poll at the bottom. Currently "I believe it's a fad" is winning

Bump.

Permissible answers are:   1) I use them regularly to buy goods/services.  And 3) I'm intrigued but don't know where to begin.

Bhenchod!

They're so shrewd when drafting options of Poll.

What is your stance on crypto-currencies?
I use them regularly to buy goods/services
I own some but only for speculation
I'm intrigued but don't know where to begin
I don't trust the idea
I believe it's a fad
I think they will be criminalised

Currently, option1 is on 48.2%. Need a clear majority in favour before I hand over to someone on day shift.

Actually this guy has written some informed pieces about bitcoins including his article "10 places to spend bitcoins in the UK". Which featured my business. So he's got a fan for life in me.

Step 1: Mass media creates FUD around Bitcoin which influences the people who pay attention to mass media
Step 2: Mass media polls those very same people and find they have a lot of fear, uncertainty and doubt when it comes to Bitcoin
Step 3: Broadcast the negative poll results throughout all of the mass media channels
Step 4: Repeat step 1-3

Once what we know as mass media is dead- these simple tactics won't work anymore- their manipulation techniques are pathetic BUT they are fighting Bitcoin now and not ignoring it which means soon they will lose.

Quote
with a further 29 per cent saying that they did not know if they would ever try a digital currency
Lol, that's funny, when the majority of normal money only exists as bank credit on bank computers. Apparently 29% of people don't even realize they use a "digital" currency on a daily basis.

There's never going to be enough options to cover everyone, but I currently own some but only for speculation, but I want to use them regularly to buy goods/services, so I don't know what to vote.

The Telegraph is read by the sort of demographic that could put a lot of money into BTC. So vote away - no log-in required.

I want to say this, but I can't yet as I haven't bought anything. There's nothing I really want to spend my coins on yet, but hopefully that'll change.

Ha, I thought about doing that just to help out the poll a bit, but then I'd be a liar. I wish there was a I currently own some but only for speculation but I want to use them regularly to buy goods/services option.  ;D.

Me too :( The only thing I actually bought with bitcoins were USB miners. I'd buy electronics but there are no retailers accepting BTC nearby.

Not anymore. "I use them regularly for goods or services" is way ahead now.
