Post by: beebopbryander on July 04, 2018, 02:19:50 PM
Electrum 3.1.3
Electron Cash 3.2
iOS Cash App/Square

Windows 10
intel celeron quad core n2930 (up to 2016GHz)
4 gb ram
64-bit

I purchased aroung $100 in bitcoin using the cash app.  I then tried to withdraw the same amount into my electrum wallet.  No luck affter some newbie queries I came to the conclusion that opening up wallet with electron cash would solve problem...still no luck because I've since learned that these are two different currencies. Before I went back to electrum I got these two screenshots.

You bought Bitcoin, and electron is for Bitcoin Cash
You need electrum, https://electrum.org

Did you redownload electron cash?
Or did you download the real electrum (from https://electrum.org/#home (https://electrum.org/#home)) ?

You can simply download electrum and move your wallet file (from electron cash) to the electrum folder (make a backup before doing this).
But you should create a new wallet and transfer the funds out of this wallet. I would not trust a seed which has been created by electron cash.

Another option would be to export the private keys from electron and importing them into electrum.

It looks like Electron Cash v3.2.0 may have updated the wallet file... and Electrum v3.1.3 cannot read the file correctly anymore.

I would suggest that you try downloading the latest version of Electrum, which is currently 3.2.2, from here and see if that works: https://electrum.org/#download

If you still get the same error, you should be able to simply restore your wallet in Electrum 3.2.2 using the 12 word seed that you originally wrote down when you setup the wallet ("File -> New\Restore -> Standard Wallet -> I already have a seed").

NOTE: If you don't have the words, open Electron Cash and goto "Wallet -> Seed"

I don't know how I didn't find that most updated version until now.

IT WORKED!

Thank everyone for the replies both on this and my first post about the same problem.  I'm in awe of the generosity offered by the members of this forum.  Can't thank you all enough!
