The good thing is that it can be easely fixed and will be fixed! But the have to let go the possibility that they can track every bitcoin transaction person to person. because btcoin transaction are like one big Thimblerig game! you see everything but without the proper context you see NOTHING :) http://www.spellengrot.nl/spellen/Thimblerig :) The exchanges took a risk by not using full protection , in favour of the possibility tracking and blocking/reversing transaction. this time to control and track was now used as exploit to get more bitcoins. Solution payout and wait for 6 confirmations https://btc-e.com/ is doing this correctly! Bitcoin is not doomed, or even flawed beyond what the developers already understood. I'm sure we haven't seen the bottom, but I wouldn't bet on anything below $500.
