Title: Most Scalable Altcoins
Post by: boomboombazookajeff on July 06, 2018, 03:10:09 AM
I do not doubt that Bitcoin will eventually scale. This is does not concern me. However, I do think that other coins will not have the same effort put into them as Bitcoin - which brings me to my overarching question of which altcoins have the most promising scale solution. To me, this is one of the most integral parts of cryptocurrency besides privacy (again this is my opinion). This being the case, I would like to start a discussion as to which coins we ought to look to for ideas to solve scaling in a way that is actually feasible and not vaporware. To start this discussion in an impartial way, I have purposefully left out the coins that I think can scale well since I already have a stake in them.

Furthermore, I do think that we should keep this discussion organized in a way that clearly states what type of coin we are talking about and how it solves scaling e.g. to solve CryptoNight scaling issues, this coin will do this to fix this problem. Do not merely state that you like a coin and that we should blindly go to your Discord or website. Instead, explain how the coin solves scaling, why it is important, and how it can contribute to the cryptospace by solving a problem. Also, if you are capable, please explain in a technical way as well as a non technical layman way for non technical people to understand and contribute to the discussion.

The biggest Altcoin I think is Ethereum. with the highest price compared to other Altcoin Ethereum make a coin that is very capable to be relied upon and is said to be the largest coin than the other Altcoin is not necessarily. is very good with this Ethereum and is able to generate the considerable profit.

yes I also think so because now Ethereum also has good growth and so now many people are investing in Ethereum because  this coin has decreased and with this decline I am sure can quickly return and can be profitable quickly let alone this coin many in relying on by people

altcoin is the most bitcoin and so now Bitcoin is still in decline hence from that I am sure with Bitcoin although now the price of Bitcoin decline is still a lot of people who invest and many people waiting for bitcoin prices rose by way of investing

Coins using the DAG Technology have one of the fastest transaction times. Coins like IOTA in fact get faster as more users start using it. Also Ethereum will be able to scale to millions of transactions once plasma is implemented. There are many other altcoins which can handle large number of transactions.

it is hard to tell, but i think that this technology is good, though i have heard some bad revies as well from some people

It doesn't exist yet. At least not without making a compromise on decentralization/security.

Worldwide scalability depends on layer 2 solutions like Lightning Network of Bitcoin or Raiden of Ethereum. Yes, Ethereum also having problems with scalability. I was reading complaints about the problems regarding of high GAS prices on ETH network just yesterday.

People should understand, there isn't any block size big enough to handle all the traffic coming from 7 billion people.

I think that the bigger coins no doubt will solve scalability since they have the interest and the funds to do so. The question now is, which one of them will do it first? Also, what is the news about CN coins scalability. I have been interested in a few that say they will scale but who knows whether it will happen. One of them in particular, a CN coin that is trying to be like ETH, says it will scale but there is no public source code and it is kind of sketchy.

Anybody got any microcaps that focus on scalability?

As per I think the most scalable altcoin is ETH. It is really good and promising. Moreover, now the growth of ETH is good and it is capable to make profit. Without this the transaction speed of ETH is going to be more fast.

Agree with you on this. After bitcoin it is Ethereum which is most potential now and scalable too. I hope a brighter future for this coin and can see it as a future leader of the market.

Another scalable altcoin that you want to check out is Waves.

Also, below is a really good article discussing cryptocurrency scaling.

Some peoples are saying most profitable altcoin is ethereum because this coin is less risky than other coins and also stable in the market. But for me bitcoin is the best because their profit margin is large and also more stable than other coins. They use great technology for their customers.

when you talk about cryptocurrencies it is so wide that it is hard to just narrow it down.
speaking of Scaling, it depends on the project. for example a centralized altcoin can scale up to whatever level you want it to. just like VISA, Paypal,... are capable of processing a lot of transactions! so of course there are altcoins that are more scalable...

but when you talk about a decentralized cryptocurrency then you can not speak about scaling and not its decentralization because you have to scale it in a way that you don't harm the decentralization.
in that case bitcoin is still on top. but i can see the potential in altcoins that are using DAG. they have been reported to be able to handle larger number of TPS but i personally don't have enough information about their pros and cons.

Lightning network will help to scale bitcoin to the levels of VISA, No other coins are needed to be store of value, Tokens are good for distributing the shares of crowdfunding projects and the blockchains like ethereum are good to launch these tokens. Most of the coins able to scale are either centralized or scam :D

I probably should have narrowed it down into different categories. In terms of scaling, I think BTC will win it. However, I am also interested in smaller alts that are trying new approaches to scaling. As for centralized coins, I think that they can scale but I am uninterested in them since it requires trust in their leadership and I am not one for that. Do you have any coins that in mind that use DAG? I'd love to check them out.

Byteball (first DAG), IOTA, and NANO. But in fact it doesn't really important about how scalable the blockchain is. The only important thing about how useful the blockchain for the community.
There is a lot of things that need to be considered as important things such as security, immutability and many more.

I would call IOTA, the first crypt without blockchain using the The Tangle architecture, which provides endless scalability and free transactions.

Scaling is a big issue for cryptocurrency.  Regardless of wonderful technology that is opening up possibilities for better way of doing things in every area of our lives,  if these coin can not accommodate as many people as possible then it benefits the limited few.  Ethereum is the next candidate for better scaling crypto.  Pos mining is in the pipeline and that when it happens will be the biggest achievement as far as scaling is concern!

True. If you don't have a use, there is no reason for scalability. However, I think that looking at their attempts can foster more development into other coins as they could use these novel ideas for testing their own concepts. Byteball has interested me for a while but I am not so sure about the other two.

For me it is obvious that most scalable are those, which are having smaller in comparsion supply size and also those which are more demanded, like the top ones, with 18 decimals included.

Clearly NEO is one of the most scalable coins. The transaction throughput and the consensus reached on PoS make it a really powerful tool for the future. Recently it made an expansion to further decentralize the nodes with excellent results.

Bitcoin is the first coin in this market of crypto currency and it is the leader of the market. The market is known by bitcoin. Bitcoin is also superior to others in terms of scalability and that’s why it is popular and reliable. There are other coins who are trying to adopt different technology to increase the scalability of transaction.
