I am happy to announce the new I0coin website.  The latest wallet and source code downloads are available, plus news and links to pools, exchanges and other resources.  A wiki is provided to allow the community to consolidate important I0coin information into a single resource.

Be sure to check out the forum as well.  Over the next few days I'll be adding categories and a few current topics to get our discussions going.  Please visit us whether you are a long time supporter or just curious about I0coin.  We believe it's the best crypto-currency and welcome your participation to make it even better.

Well it's really a team effort.  I've been working lately to find a web developer and I'll be administering the forum.  Klazzik and adfountain.com will continue to administer the website.  rsnel has been brilliant at incorporating the merged mining features and latest bitcoin updates into the I0coin client.  The Mac client was compiled by maxpower.  lightlord designed the I0coin logo a while back.  Plus, we can't forget all the miners who have continued to maintain I0coin's network hash rate in the top 5% of all crypto-currencies.

It's one of the first cryto-currencies.  Released in 2011.

If you're asking what the zero means, it originally referred to the "zero premine".  As part of our branding of this coin we'll need to decide as a community what other meanings it may have going forward.  Eventually, it could mean "zero inflation".  Other ideas?

This has always been in my opinion one the best of the original coins, with superior design in many respects. Great to see it on a new exchange, with a new website and so much good publicity. Good to see it on a new exchange - it has been traded on Vircurex for a while now.

Yes.  I think I0coin found an excellent balance between speed (90 second blocks) and security via merged mining.  Other coins which came later where lacking in one or the other.  Many are way to fast to be secure over the long term.

Its about time someone took care of this coin, it is trading 40000 times under fair value since I started trading a year ago. What about starting some crowdfunding site based on I0coin?

I see buy orders.  i0coin trading just opened so it might take time to get orders.

Like IXCoin, its volume has probably been low so long simply because until they are worth $1 or so per coin it is hardly worth firing up a wallet and getting caught up to the blockchain, since thanks to merged mining the difficulty is so high that even after years of mining it one hardly has enough coins to make a nice hefty year or few of salary let alone make one a millionaire. So it has always been like lets wait a few more years, they are way too undervalued so far to bother worrying about. Lets just forget about them until we have a huge enough pile and/or they are worth enough that they will make me rich...

(Since one gets them pretty much free anyway. So like airmiles or suchlike, why penny-ante with them, why not wait until ready to retire and then check how much of a retirement they will buy you?)
