Title: Any feedback on kraken?
Post by: TonyZX on February 12, 2014, 05:04:35 AM
Has anyone here dealt with kraken.com?

Don't want to go to btc-e, wanna try something else?

I'm also curious. They seem really legit, but no one really uses/talks about them just yet.
Don't know why.

Been trading on Kraken since november. Made many withdrawals (SEPA), they almost always come in the next business day. Support is a bit understaffed I feel (so it can be a bit slow), but they are helpful.

Kraken.com is great.

A reason for why their volume is low could be the deposit/withdrawal limits (100k usd each per month).

Might have to try them out.

Been avoiding them because their logo is a symbol of nazi era anti-zionsim propaganda.

Oh well, pretty sure jew-nazis own every other exchange too

!? I assumed it was a stylised sea monster. You know, a kraken. :)

Signed up with kraken a few days ago and am really impressed so far. Slick site, GPG-encrypted emails, sensible levels of account verification that aren't onerous to obtain. A Euro deposit I did from UK to their bank in Munich was completed same day.

I've used them for a while; generally excellent, the biggest problem is that the volume is painfully low, esp. on the USD markets.

I think there is something fishy about Kraken not releasing a list of countries where verification can proceed

There is something seriously wrong about uploading documents only to be given "pre-verified" status and no service rendered, its disturbing because your documents can be used to commit fraud.

Kraken should either provide a list of countries/states they support or simple close registration to those countries that they do not support, it would be the honest thing todo.

I am unimpressed also.  I just wanted tier 1 verification (crypto deposit/withdrawal only) but as soon as I signed up they told me I had to do tier 3 verification so they could verify where I live due to "regulations".  If tier 1 and 2 don't exist then don't jerk me around and list them as options.  Alls I'm sayin.  I am not interested in sending a bunch of personal documentation so I can trade cryptos on an exchange with no volume when I can already do it on many exchanges with a lot more volume without giving them all of my dox.
