Title: BITCOIN GOT HELD
Post by: Hashcesar84 on February 12, 2014, 08:09:32 AM
Hello,

every exchanges and blockchain wallets has been blocked and bitcoins are now held from these companies waiting to resolve some issues.

Does anyone have an idea about how long could it take? Is possible that bitcoin crashes in this days before withdraw will be allowed again?

Is anyone stealing our bitcoins?

IMHO exchanges should block immediatly trading.
I've a lot of bitcoins in my pc wallet and I have no way to sell it.

BitSimple still works fine.  Also we don't hold client bitcoins so if we ever did have to take our wallet offline, no client bitcoins would be "frozen".

Yeah you might want to hold your coins yourself in order to prevent others from just not giving them back. That being said, you will also be responsible for the security part then. A Secure hardware cold storage gets sold on www.pi-wallet.com. You might want to have a look at it. :)

Ironic, isn't it?

Well you'll probably need to if you plan on trading or selling them.

The currency of maths. Private key is the answer to a very complex question, and you don't want to show the answer of your question to the world, so you can keep it on a safe place.  Internet is the medium.

You're stating something without any facts backing it up, and of course this isn't correct.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

selling at a loss is not good. so these exchanges and web wallets holding your funds is actually going to stop those that panic, from doing something stupid.

bitcoin will rise again and correct itself, and in a few months the price will be higher.

so the simple solution is to not panic about the price changes every hour.. the only risk is if the exchange is not legitimate.

Nobody is stealing coins. People need to stop panicking. This whole commotion was caused entirely by gox.

I can't comprehend why people would sell their coins at a loss.

Same. If the value falls, just hold them till you're in profit again.

Do you need to withdraw it or are you just worried? I'd leave it there for the time being, but you can go check if it's possible to withdraw but not actually go through with it.

I'm just worried that's all , no need to withdraw yet. It don't block the withdraw page in any way , seems like it's possible but i'm afraid to try it , what if it gets lost

I doubt it will get lost. Just wait if there's no need to withdraw it.
