Title: Buying and Selling Bitcoin for Dollars? AKA Coinbase worse than PayPal.
Post by: miragecash on February 12, 2014, 08:16:13 AM
O,K.

I've gotten a bitcoin wallet, I got a coinbase account and verified my bank account, but I cannot verify my credit card and the identity verifier keeps asking me crazy questions about crap that is nothing about me. Coinbase gives me a BS copy and pasted scripted answer by email and offers no solution. They have no phone number to call. These jokers are worse than paypal. Paypal has zero customer service but at least their credit card verifier and identity verifier works.

As I am going to be a merchant accepting bitcoin, I cannot hold bitcoin because I don't want to risk big swings in exchange rates. I plan on cashing out for dollars from bitcoins at the end of each business day.

What's the best bitcoin market where I can buy and sell bitcoin easily for a business. Local bitcoins is not convenient as it couldn't be done online.

Please advise where I can buy and sell bitcoin for dollars in the USA. Thanks.

Try a different payment processor like Bitpay.

Bitpay will be a better option for you then.
You don't need to sell your bitcoin yourself, but Bitpay will do everything for you.

Try a different payment processor like Bitpay.

However they have a lot of fees!

Well they're not gonna do it for free. I'm sure they're still cheaper than creditcards.

I will give bitpay and bitsimple a try. I don't mind paying fees as long as they are less than credit card fees and if they have good customer service to earn those fees. Bitcoin and Paypal have zero customer service, so no matter how low the fees, they have done nothing to earn them. What I really need is for them to answer the phone when I don't get an email response in 24 hours.

I would definitely recommend BitPay as they are more established as far as merchant solutions goes.

I'm new in bitcoin mining and i know this is a dead thread but i want to ask you guys if it wouldn't be better only exchanging bitcoins in a few years when the value probably will past the 5000 USD/BTC.
There is out there some thread about the right time to exchange bitcoins for real money?

I am not sure how much 1 bitcoin will be worth a few years later, but I am pretty confident that it will be higher than $400.

You can take a look at the speculation section (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=57.0) to read some discussion on bitcoin price speculation.

On Monday, eBay announced that Braintree, the company’s payment processor subsidiary, would begin accepting the virtual currency in the “coming months.”

While users will not yet see Bitcoin integrations in eBay’s marketplace or on PayPal, Braintree’s customers, which include Airbnb and Uber, will eventually be able to start accepting Bitcoin if they desire.

Braintree’s announcement is a step toward the complete acceptance of Bitcoin in the eBay universe, said Ready, who noted that the company wanted to ensure users’ safety and security before taking the plunge.

So, it looks like eBay or Paypal will not be accepting bitcoin directly in the near future, but they will start testing bitcoin payment with Braintree and see how it will work.
