Title: Multibit V0.5 & WinXP Post by: transITX on July 08, 2018, 04:12:26 AM So I'm in the catch22 of a V0.5 wallet installed on a WinXP laptop.
Can't move the BTC and can't replace the wallet with a 'new" XP-compatible alternative. Is an online wallet my only hope and if so how to organize it?? Many thanks in advance! ??? ETA: I see little point in exporting into another wallet that also doesn't support the dreaded XP. but if you value your security then i suggest trying Linux. there are a lot of distributions that are light weight and even if your computer is old and not-strong you can run them much faster than you run Win XP. my suggestion is Lubuntu, it is Ubuntu with a light weight desktop environment https://lubuntu.net/ and it looks like windows a little. you can install it then install Electrum and move your funds from Multibit to the latest version of Electrum. read the sticky topic for migration tips: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2293714.0 Title: Re: Multibit V0.5 & WinXP Post by: transITX on July 08, 2018, 05:30:22 AM Many thanks for your quick response.
