Post by: paularmstrong on February 12, 2014, 10:29:45 PM
so I decided to have a little go at mining memory coins seemed easy enough and I followed an online tutorial. But I am not sure if it is working or not.How can I find out if it is or if it isn't its not like I have a mate round the corner who can tell me. can I give some one remote access t my computer to tell me. I am using a programme called cpu coin miner to mine with and memory coin wallet.. memory cin wallet says 0.110527 hashes per min not sure if that's good or not. all advice welcome
regards
paul

You shouldn't give remote access to some random guys...

Just did a google search for you, and found two pages for you.
Memorycoin hash per min VS processor: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1498.0
Memorycoin profit calculator: http://agran.net/memorycoin2_calc.html

It turns out your hashrate is pretty bad :)

can I improve my hashrate and I just want to know if I have set it up right or not or if I have wasted my time. I don't give access to random guys neither but these sort of forums are usually the place to go for that intrested in ripping you off or stealing. any how even if they were laptop is used for university and pictures that is about it

I see, so you are using a laptop.

To be honest, you shouldn't try mining at all with a laptop because (1) It is very bad and inefficient (2) It will very likely be overheated.

Depending on your CPU you can get much better performance.
YAM is a really well optimized mining program.
The developer and community support it very well.
Here is a link.  https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2609.0
I use it on my laptop and run it when I am on it.  I get 1.5 to 1.9 running an AMD A8.
As others stated though if your laptop is getting hot do not run it.
I actually had removed my laptop heatsink fan system and replaced the garbage thermal gunk with Arctic Silver and my laptop stays cool and quiet.  Do not attempt if you don't know what you are doing or you could brick your laptop.

Here is a great thread to start on for more information on MMC.
It is a great coin with an excellent community.

I hope this helps you out.
