While this is true, you cannot order just one chip from Bitmine and this price covers air shipping to anywhere on the planet.  So I needed a little extra to cover this expense. Thank you for your interest.  Why don't you buy a chip, and check her out my friend!

Might I add if you buy 4 chips you get 1 FREE so that would roughly come out to $100 each, same as on the site but with no quantity restrictions or waiting period!  Man I am just giving these things away....  Your welcome, I get more from giving than receiving anyhow..

I don't mind opportunism, but please don't do it on ignorance.  You can buy single chips from bitmine.  However, if you have chips on hand, and will air ship anywhere, that is a valuable service.

Off course not, don't be silly, Giorgio has zillion of chips, not just ONE ANTISTATIC BAG, they gave away for DIY projects, almost for free...

This is somebody that claimed they have DIY board ready for soldering, and opted for small ASIC chip package, but either decided to sell chips and stop and further development of the board or didn't have any board in the first place at all...

Found this thread while looking for alternatives to Bitmine's own website, which it appears has just stopped accepting BTC for payment.

Are there any chips remaining?

From Bitmine, yes.  I was hoping to hear from WinterParker if the 1-chip minimum offer was still on the table.

So what would you do with just one chip ?

Prototype design.  They're expensive chips, so I only want a couple for testing.  Once (if) the design works, I'll order more.

How are you going to test the chain with just one ?

Principal problem with this chip is in the fact that they shutdown when overheating occurs...so you must manually restart the box, and with only one chip you can not test anything serious. My advice, test at least two. There has been a DIY board made for 2 chips for such purpose...but it's not without bugs...so unless you have your own board design...it's just souvenirs...

One, two, whatever.  I can't afford 500, so I want smaller quantities.  I'll buy as many as I can afford, once someone confirms that I can get them in prototype quantities.

If you must know, I'm planning to build a single chip unit so I can figure out if I can even make it work.  If I can't get one chip to work, what business do I have testing a chain?  Once one chip works, I'll chain them together, look at efficiency and packaging, and go from there.

Why the hate for cautious baby steps?
