This time last year, bitcoin was still around $1000+ and nobody could think or imagined bitcoin is going to rise from 1000$+ to like $18000+. There was a huge market rise of it when closing July, August up till December

Bitcoin in 2018 is strongly adjusted. Many investors have lost hope in this market. However, I think this is a necessary and reasonable adjustment, I believe that the end of 2018 will have a strong rhythm for bitcoin.

A lots of speculations that probably what happened this time last year might also double minded happen but with doubts.

In my opinion bull run is coming at the end of august. Btc price will be between 10000$ and 12000$.

I am very optimistic with this year, I believe the increase will happen faster than last year. but you need to be patient, do not quickly take the decision to sell your bitcoin assets. the market is very difficult to guess because of the many negative news that is not true in my opinion. sooner or later bitcoin will go up  :D

yes I am sure there will be an increase in market prices in August to December. But no one can predict how much the market price will increase by the end of the year. Since June and July I see prices go up and down.

Well as far as i know predicting the price of BTC has become an professional activity. I think BTC from here will go only up with small corrections.

last year this time price was above $2500. in fact it was falling from the ATH of that time which was $2980 and went down to $1830 in a huge correction (-39%) which ended on July 17. and July was closed pretty much around the same price that it started (around $2500).

besides none of that matters. it was last year and now we are in a new chapter. price of July 2018 is more like the bottom and accumulation phase which marks the end of the bear market.

I think Bitcoin was above $1000 as at this time last year before rising to $18000+. Nevertheless, there is still a great chance of Bitcoin rising above its previous peak of $18k+ before the end of the year. I am having a partial feeling that all attention is currently in the world tournament in Russia, and after the tournament, a lot of people will be back to business. Bitcoin might soar again. I hope.

There is no clearer picture for bitcoin or in crypto currency in general if the bullish trend last year will be repeated  again but one thing for sure many investor have already cash out huge profit from the  money they invest before 2017. But many analyst are still positive for bitcoin will close this year end above its 2017 all time high

This is July. Around July 2017 bitcoin price was above $2,500 and not $1000+ as you put it. Bitcoin had a nice run last year but has disappointed many fans this year 2018. All hope is not.lost yet. The price can still shoot up before end of the year.

Many investors lost their faith in bitcoin because they expected too much from it, and also I share you opinion that 2018 will be a year of adjustment.
And yet again some people expect that bitcoin will reach new heights at the end of this year... which is not impossible, but I doubt that. I think, all that we can expect from bitcoin is to reach stability and to start rising slowly. Maybe in 2019 we would see new heights, but as for 2018 I think we should be happy if we see price of $12k.

Yes people are expecting more from the bitcoin every year,we should give some time it to recover from the crashes,fist we need to forget about that all time high of bitcoin price we just compare the price of last year and this year still the bitcoin made phenominal growth.But as OP said we may see some fire works at the end of this year and $12K is decent price and more will be contented with that price so we need to buy it now to enjoy when the price reaches $12K

Yeah cryptocurrency value is volatile in the market, so they can change in short time (although 1 year is not short).
i am expecting bitcoin price will rising in Q4 of this year. Otherwise, 2018 will be a bad year for bitcoin and crypto.

I think that in the middle of  last year,  btc's price value is much lower than in the current year. Most likely,  btc will start to recover in the next few months and I firmly believe btc will pump high soon. Therefore,  it would be better to hold still your btc until the last quarter and let's see what will happen next. Just keep believing for it will make a history soon.

Yes mate last year bitcoin was at the pich getting its all time high and as what i have seen in its graph, bitcoin rises every year and right now, i bought btc for the lower peice and hoping to increase its price in the end of the year, this is my prediction, bitcoin will hit its al time high at the end if the year in my opinion.

Actually no one knows when the price will rise,but you just said it will happen in August maybe you assuming that bitcoin will follow the same path on 2017,but I don't think it will happen this year because the conditions are much different from 2017.This year lot of negativities about the crypto market so we may not see a new all time high by this year.

I am very excited for bitcoins price because bitcoins price gradually increasing. It’s a good sign for this project. Price increase means demand also increase. If bitcoin acceptable by all the countries then bitcoins will become more popular.

You know that there are other factors that affect bitcoin price right,so in my opinion,after bitcoin reached it's ATH,this year will be a long bear market,because the price still adjusted after reaching ATH in december last year.

Yes, BTC the last year was a great year for crypto and it has grown beyond imagination from the middle of the last year towards the end. This year too we are seeing the repitation of the same flow. The price has already started to go up and hope by december will reach much higher.

Last year it was great, and same as that the market can change anytime. Last year people never had an expectation, but they were in speculation of reaching $10000 and above. To the goodness of users it went as high around $20000 making a huge expectation. Hope this gets fulfilled by this year.

I do not know what you are trying to say, but if you are comparing this last year and this year value and how the value change quarterly you are right many article are saying the the last quarter this year maybe bitcoin will reached it new high.

Everyone wants to see only Bitcoin pumping price. But they don't think that only pump can't make a good future. Last year who thought bitcoin will hit more than 19K USD? Like this year everyone thought bitcoin will not go under 6K USD but it went. But who knows at the end of this year, the bitcoin price will hit in which mark. We can again hope for a high market. Bitcoin can hit 30K USD in this year. No one knows the exact amount but we can at least expect for good.

Patterns are not really that helpful nowadays. It seems that after the fall, many are hesitant to invest again. I think when people are just waiting like today, its hard to see specific growth unless everyone is valuing it as mode of payment which is a part of everyone's daily living. I see that many are just holding and do not want to spend their bitoins until a sudden pump happen. I think change i price is a bit hard to see.

That's they thing you see, but still people do nothing but complain about how the markets are nothing but bearish. In December last year, some people had the best time of their lives when bitcoin was worth 20,000$, most of them cashed out, while the others were greedy for the price to continue rising. Bitcoin is still not in a bad spot, it's just that there's not enough hype in the market to speed things up a little.

Almost the same, the difference is just the price variation as well the usage. With the past price increase it gained the attention of each and every users who were unaware about cryptocurrency. Upon that now the usage around the globe has taken place, based on which more positive news too were getting circulated. This assure growth for the ongoing year at the earliest.

I do believe that we still face a correction and this kind of correction is a sign of an healthy market. We need it. I hope soon a new money will flow into the crytpo world where this correction could be ended and the rise will continue.

Around this time during the last year the price of bitcoin began to rise and then for the last few months the prices began to drop. Investors expect a bull run where the prices began to climb in the coming months. Yet still the market of crypto currency is very unpredictable therefore the investors need to be very patient and optimistic of the market.

I hope that bitcoin of this year will be the same as bitcoin last year or even more, but it seems that we are now in the middle of the year and still their is no sign of crypto bull run! we just wait up to December then and see it if it will happen.

The price rally that took place in the last year of last year was the result of the involvement of the big whales and institutional investors. However, when they decided to take the exit from the market it created a panic selling wave and ultimately a correction of 65%. However, I don't think that next time the price will fall at this rate because of the mass maturity of the investors is increased as compared to that of last year. I am expecting the price to reach an all-time high level in this year itself.

I always say that its better to have lower but stable price, than to have volatile and unpredictable one. Last year was a year that we experienced massive bullish run towards the ending of the year. However , cryptocurrency has  faced a lot of massive dip this year as a result of SEC  regulation. We still expect bullish run this year so we can smile again and be happy for investing into cryptocurrency.

I think that soon there will be a big boom and bitcoin will again grow to huge heights this way in December. Everything happening on the market in recent months indicates that soon it will rise. We can only wait and hope.

Yes it seems like bitcoin price go back to its price before it pump so high last december 2018. As we see the price of it now there was a huge different and still we are thankful because it still give profit to us. Way back then in the year 2009, it was in a cheap price and almost hundred Thousand was difference between the two. I believe that this year before it end will rise again the price of bitcoin.

It's true with what you say that bitcoin has soared up in late 2017, and I strongly believe that by the end of 2018 it will happen again.

I haven't imagined last year that bitcoin will surge and will finally hit $20,000 by December. Now, everyone has an idea that everything is possible to bitcoin and to other crypto's as well.

The price of bitcoin isn't so good now from $6,700 dropped to $6,100 and keeps on dropping. But this can be the fueling before it finally recovered from this huge drop.

We had too many crashes this year

I see the 2014 pattern again in 2018 we are half way from a halving, and the year before was a strong bull year.
When the market turns, nobody knows. But I think everyone thinks I will turn and a new ATH will come within the next 2-3 years, hopefully sooner than later.

Everyone here seems to hope for bitcoin to rise again and reach an ATH again. Some speculations are already happening. I jus hope so that the crash of price this week will be the last one. Then th start of bullish market. Expect the unexpected.

All markets go through these bear cycles. Within the last 2 decades this generation has seen more crashes that at any time in history .... oil, housing, gold, silver, stocks. Even in Forex the largest crash in history happened in 2015 when the EURCHF lost close to half its value in ...... 1 day. ALL have ended.

So, bitcoin will return, the only question is when will it get back to the all time high. And this has only been about a 6 month downturn that has never even tested an all time low.

The last stock crash of 2008 lasted about a year before the start of this current bull run. So we have been in bull run for about 10 years. Just for perspective, the average s&p bear market historically has lasted on average for a little over 1 year and the average bear market 9 years. So we are overdue for a crash. Even Warren Buffet and most pundits have said as much.

Gold is still waiting for this downturn in stocks to return to its 2011-2012 all time high when everyone was dumping out of stocks and into gold. I think this will be the turning point for Bitcoin/crypto .... the impending bearish downturn in stocks. I think we will then see a bull market in crypto to rival all others in history.

Unfortunately/fortunately, the dime that every market turns on is the S&P/stocks. With bitcoin going "mainstream" trading on CME/futures market and attracting institutional investors we now know what to expect and when. The only ones that will be left out are those that are caught on the sidelines saying the sky is falling. Just as those who took all money out of stocks back in 2008-2012 when everyone never thought the market would recover ......And it did .... more than x2 from the ALL TIME HIGH before the crash.

I think last year the price of Bitcoin was at $ 10,000, until at the end of the year Bitcoin rose to $ 20,000 with a percentage increase of 100%. November to mid-January price Bitcoin peaked.
nobody ever thought Bitcoin could achieve such a fantastic price, I could collect 3 Bitcoin in one month, but first Bitcoin still at the price of $ 100 and do not think Bitcoin can penetrate the price of $ 20,000.

Last year in this time the bitcoin market was just blooming. Currently the market is quite down but by the end of this year it might blast again.

I think the same thing will happen this year too. Infact they will raise much more than last year. So all in now we need to be patient for this. I think very soon this gonna happen.

Bitcoin prices keep fluctuating every now and then. It is uncertain when its prices rises and when it falls down. Apparently all we can do is hope for the best.

According to the analytics, there is still time. Bitcoins are supposed to go up by the end of this year and there are still a few months left. So, we should not lose hope. Although a lot of investors have lost their faiths in it, we should still remain optimistic.

Although Bitcoin price is currently low, it still has the potential to end the year twice what it is currently valued at. I'm sure towards the end of the year we will see a positive market trend.

Bitcoin last year was great because from a very low price to a very high price which is 20,000 USD and now bitcoin from 20,000 USD to below 10,000 USD which is a huge loss for the people who bought bitcoin when it was at least above 15,000 USD because they are now drowning to a huge loss and i hope that they don't go all in or else they are now screwed up.

The price was still very low in the past year if we compare it to the current price since most of the growth happened in the second half of the year, but I really do not think we are going to see a repetition of what happened in the last year, the previous year was the year of the bull run and this year will belong to the bears and they will keep trying to make the price even lower during the rest of the year.

Definitely speaking, last year  the price of bitcoin was so very high specifically on the month of december to January but suddenly it will go down when the month of february was entered. But as of know it is okay because if you are a strategic person you can survive bitcoin even if its price is lower or higher. :)

I like this type of post because I am wondering where the people that are starting topic like bitcoin is dead, it over for bitcoin are coming from. sometime you will even see an old member of this forum making such statement. If bitcoin could appreciate to such price by December 2017 it means it will do better than that before the end of this year.

I'm not really sure about the status of bitcoin last year, but as of my research. Bitcoin last year is way up high than this time.

We are now heading towards the month of August and though we are going stable, I still don't see any sign that the same thing will happen last year. I also hope August or September will be the start but the reality is that the interest in crypto has declined so much which is biggest factor needed to make a strong bull run.

The performance of Bitcoin in the market last year compared to what as posted on the Thread have a lot of difference, on the market price, the fundamentals, market structures, the trend on the market, and the over all market status, Bitcoin able to survived a lot of beating from a lot of issues as posted on the social media, print,and on broadcast media, Bitcoin is all over the news. I am optimistic that Bitcoin once have a break on the market resistance it will go up again to a more favorable status.

Comparing last year's chart is also what I'm standing of believing that this year's going to have same flow of increase and decrease for its price.

Bitcoin price last year 2017 obviously is much better than the price this year 2018, but for the new investor now is their time to buy a volume of bitcoin because we do not know when is the time the price going up, imagine 6,000 USD price now let say you can buy 1 BITCOIN then after the few  months the price is gradually higher then it will raised up to 18,000 USD like the price last year? that's nice right.

You're right but te expectations are high thsnear because we have from from an ATH to a very low pruce, comparing to the ATH. If Bitcoin had not gone to 18k, 19k or 20klast year, no one would have build hope at a higher peak as we are now. We would've still predicted a rise but we wouldn't have anticipated for a very high one.

Nobody knows it was Bowser price in future. I still believe that price will grow up at the start of the next year. Is the price near $10,000 is very real.

This year is hard to rise as fast as last year, and there are too many bubbles in the market, and if some of the ICO random access to the market does not disappear, it's hard to have new investors willing to enter the market.

Actually no one is certain if the market this year would be good. It is hard for some but there are still willing to enter the market as months cam might go up its value. There are still a possibilities price of bitcoin can increase but were not certain if same as last year.

The year 2018 is a year of patience because the market is not as good as last year, I think by the end of the year bitcoin is more likely to reach 10k.

I think what you say has started now, look at bitcoin prices have grown from now on, and I hope this growth continues until the peak exceeds the previous record.

History repeats itself every year and that's what i observed from bitcoin's histogram. It may look like bitcoin's market value is been manipulated for so many reasons over the years and here we are now again, bitcoin is showing signs that it will repeat its feat last year.

It's like deja vu when you look at its graph. You will see how bitcoin falls down rises back each year and remains dominant in the cryptoworld. We've experienced the half of this year with crisis but now bitcoin is starting to come back again as i realized that we are already near in the final quarter this year that something happened last year is going to happen again this year.

We cannot make investments in this market thinking the story is going to repeat itself, the markets do not work like that and the circumstances are completely different, in the last year the cause of the bull market was the activation of segwit and now the cause of this recent growth in the price of bitcoin is the possibility of getting approval for a bitcoin ETF.
