I am opening this thread because I am having issues with DiabloMiner. When I launch the application I get ERROR: Cannot connect to localhost: Connection refused. How do I solve this? One more thing.... I read that I have to insert in my bitcoin.conf my user and password... but where do I get them? Do I have to register somewhere or I can just put anything? Where do all this people trying to solo mine come from? Is the mining tutorial aimed at solo mining or something?

You can register at http://deepbit.net for example. Now add your user/pass and the pool URL to the miner. See here for instructions: https://deepbit.net/help.php
Since you seem to be casual mining, don't forget to take a look here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison Find your GPU card on that list and then input the Mhash/s value here: http://tpbitcalc.appspot.com/ You can now see how many bitcoins you will earn per day (probably not many...) |
