https://i.imgur.com/AkQKs.png Hes baaaack...and this time he brought his wife. http://michaelpascaziscammer.com was the last attempt by these people to trademark bitcoin and now they have successfully done so in France under the "Financial" section of the law. Magical Tux is attempting to register the name globally and release it to anyone who wants. they are regging it as a "commodity" not a money. Lets hope this is successful and/or this trademark gets repealed. This means they have the trademark in 166 countries. Title: Re: Bitcoin trademarked in france. Unless my memory is totally screwed there are heavy duty penalties for "misleading public offices" in France. What do they do to you if you own a trademark on that ? :D There is no way to make Bitcoin illegal, Bitcoin is a network of p2p, a commodity with value only because of the demand for it's supply and what people are willing to pay for it. This guy didn't copyright bitcoin, he copyrighted the word bitcoin. He lays claim in France to anyone using the word bitcoin in their business. I'm excited to see how this holds up, I kinda want to incorporate 'Bitcoin, Inc.' in France and have him try and take me to court, just so I can set the precedent and use the case to argue a wrongful copyright claim in court.
