I'm with you, those guys that DDoS the exchanges and pools really piss me off.

The only logic behind it is, I guess, that they reduce the overall net hash and get an advantage. However for any coins with more than a dozen pools I really can't see that this would be worthwhile?

However if we are looking for faces to punch first for me would be the bastards who scammed me for 2.8 bitcoins in an elaborate Butterfly Labs phishing exercise.

Edit: Exchanges are something else. Either other exchanges or, more likely, NSA and their lap dog GCHQ.

Hi,

maybe you already put that in place, but just in case : don't forget that  you can manage secondary (and more!) pools easily with cgminer or cgwatcher, in order for your miners to stay active when a pool is down

Yet purposefully forking a coin doesn't? Interesting.

Indeed. People using networks of computers to deny access to pools and exchanges is highly unethical and merits physical violence. However people using networks of computers to hard fork coins because some dev insulted the size of someone else's e-peen is highly ethical and merits bouquets of flowers.

Sorry, but whether I step in dog shit or cow shit, my shoes still stink.

NSA? FBI? who's got access to a SUPER COMPUTER that have this capability?

hackers who's got access to zombie botnets?

I've read that JP Morgan could be behind this

:) DDoS are mostly undetectable IF DDoS makers are pro hackers :P
Anyone can DDoS some page or somthing.
Me, you, him - but we could be arrested

But...  they are using pro tools :) like botnets ... and to find them is like realy hard.

Its easier than you think to find botnet IP addresses, just copy and paste the list of Quark miners and blacklist them (+ all TORs of course)  ;D
