I'm also new to Bitcointalk and NEM, having been referred to NEM by a friend - and asked my friend to pay for me before I could register - SORRY! I decided to joined NEM and hopefully can make a contribution in the future.

Myself - I have travelled around the world and understand the problems with money payments etc, and hoping with NEM we can have a better future. I am reading all the articles and glad the team are documenting which helps me to learn quickly.

hi all. my name is Norman. i am from United Kingdom. several weeks ago I learned about NXT. the idea of 100% of PoS very much was pleasant to me since powerful ASIC miners and huge accounts for electricity aren't necessary any more. but there that receives all stakes at whom most coins. than I liked NEM? that that all of us here build egalitarianism which is opposite to elitarism and therefore very much it is pleasant to me that all are equal. I love equality I don't love when someone surpasses before me and it is necessary to cave in before it because its power is higher than mine. and still very much it is pleasant to me in respect of forging. here PoS/PoI hybrid. it means that the system doesn't depend on that how many at you coins. all of us on an equal footing also aren't present here the main. these to me also like NEM. Well, i've been into cryptos for no longer than a month, but i've already catched the fever!
I'm a medicine student who got caught into the wave after joining several computational neuroscience groups. Since then everything just snowballed. Two weeks ago i bought my first gpu (yeah, the first one in my entire life, i have no experience as a gamer or any friend to request any help whatsoever) and i'm a new proud miner!
I like how the crypto world makes its way into the so-called "real world". I think there's a lot of hidden potential in a lot of cryptos, not just three or four of them. I'd like to join because i enjoy new experiences, just like when i decided to read almost 24/7 about bitcoin, litecoin, dogecoin, and promote the system to my friends. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be potential investors in the short term because they have never heard about what can cryptos do for the world, and just think that this could be the biggest scam ever. But i think we know that isn't true, right? This is about innovation. This is about the future, as we envision it. Giving bits of control back to the people should raise awareness that things can't be done the same way as always because "it's stablished".

I was introduced to NEM by a friend. I work in sale and don't have time to check the forum often but I can see a potential in digital currency. Will check-in to see more updates often.

I'm a 22 y/o computer science undergrad. I initially began mining bitcoin 2 years ago, but soon stopped due to the slow rate and lack of sufficient foresight. I bought a few in August of 2012 and let them sit in the wallet until just recently, when I managed to recover the password. Over the past 2 months, my cryptocurrency intrigue surged to borderline obsession, one that pays for itself.

One could say that NEM is among the first altcoin 2.0. I like fairness and this looks like a solid coin :D

Heard about BItcoin about a year ago.  Never could figure out the basis of its value, so did nothing about it.
About a month ago it came to my attention that it jumped in value -- at that time to near $1000.

I thought that maybe I should investigate crypto currencies a bit more and am still investigating.

I might decide to invest seriously.  But right now I am just playing around with a couple of bitcoins.

If I can be included in NEM, I would be happy to participate to the best of my ability.

I'm a french Computer Science graduate in my early twenties. I currently work in energy trading and I've always been passionate about trading and currencies (i used to trade FOREX and still keep up to date with economy, numbers and everything impacting the currency market and commodities). I have started looking at crypto-currencies not long ago (around 4-5 months) and i am investing some money (and some more time) in them because i do believe in their future and their use in the long run.

I was looking at putting up some money and buying some NXT because i found the idea and characteristics interesting. But the fact that the original distribution was so shady made me look into alternatives and that's why i'm here and why i want to be part of NEM.

Been in crypto since around the times of the april bubble. I'm one of those people who believe this will be a strong and everlasting force for good. Some people say it will be as powerful a technology as the internet itself. I think it's a different thing entirely, something the world has never seen before, and we don't know what the ramifications will be. If we get to the place where people can comfortably live on income paid in crypto, then things like software development will truly have no borders. I'm looking forwards to the future.

My name is Jay and I'm new to cryptocurrency. I was always interested in the concept of the Bitcoin and was intrigued by its growth and concept. I am usually very strict with my finances since I don't have much however was quite disappointed when I avoided investing in Bitcoin before it hit $100+. This year my resolution was to help give myself a little extra cash and begin to take on the mindset of making investments and learning markets. I figured that cryptocurrency would be an excellent places to give myself some semi-relevant experience in both areas and I've seen a large amount of potential in some of the new coins release. Upon doing research I came upon NEM and found that it looked promising to me. I bought my first amount Bitcoin ever for the sole purpose of investing in NEM. I think with enough people interested and enough hard work NEM will be on par with NXT and even go above and beyond it.

I'm glad to (hopefully) be a part of NEM and can see it being a successful coin in the future. I also truly believe that PoS coins will increase in popularity over time as the general populace gathers more interest in cryptocurrency but have no interest in mining.

The fact that there have been so many people willing to invest in this coin tells me it will be successful.

Hi im Mark from QLD Australia, Im 18 and I been into cryptos for about a year now, I invested pretty much everything i got into crypto, but because I dont have a job, im self employed and Im independent of my parents I never really had a substantial amount of money to invest, at one point I had 10 bitcoins, which I sold most of to pay for schoolies (its like spring break but Australian version). Then 2 weeks later there was the massive jump to $1200 btc and I felt pretty sick as u can imagine hahaha.

I used to mine in the early days, made about 100ltc mining on my 6870 but i lost alot of my crypto trading on BTC-e, hate that fucking manipulated site. Im doing super great now on cryptsy and building up my altcoin portfolio. I spend the majority of my time checking out coins and finding ones with the greatest potential, and NEM is definitely one of them. I would really love to be included in the initial distribution of the currency.

I'm from Sweden and I've been following the crypto currencies since the first articles hit the main stream press years ago.
Lately my interest in crypto currencies has increased again. After reading about NXT and then NEM I'm confident that NEM could be the currency that to dethrone Bitcoin, by correcting flaws and bringing new new features.

I've been critical of the mining process because I think it is not an energy efficient method and I think NEMs even distributing to share holders will help the currency to the gain traction and prevent the massively uneven capital allocation that is widely disliked. I am interested in translating NEM-related content into Swedish, as I am fluent in both Swedish and English.

I would be delighted to be included in the genesis block.

I recently discovered the exciting (and frequently turbulent) world of Bitcoins, originally thinking that it was Ponzi Scheme only to realize later that the underlying premise (decentralized currency) is something that is much needed in the world today as every other form of currency is controlled by a central government who pushes their own agenda.   I personally have a background in finance and understand how the markets work and while I think Bitcoin won't get to the point of acceptance in it's current form, the concept will most certainly survive in some shape or form.  After researching NEM, I realize that it has great potential to get us to that point and I especially appreciate the transparency and activeness of the developers of this project.  While I unfortunately missed out on the original IPO, I would very much jump on the opportunity and purchase a stake if a second round opens up.   Thanks!

I love reading anything about economy in general.  I've been very interested in crypto-currency since one of my friends introduced me to NXT last year (unfortunately, I did not get on the train). Hopefully I won't miss the train this time again!  :D

As I dig deeper into Crypto Currencies I noticed that there are many btc and ltc clones without any own innovations. Many of Crypto alternatives just exists because of the hope and greed of the founders that their Crypto Coins could become valuable and make them and the early birds rich. Then I found Nxt which was/is really innovative. The most innovative Crypto since Bitcoin imho. But as every coin has also Nxt some problems which delays its success. The main reason is probably that most of the stakeholders are inactive or hoarding Nxt until it becomes more valuable. So I'm looking forward to this project and I'm excited how it will evolve. I found the fundraising was very fair and it will prevent that few hoarders paralyse the development and the success of Nem. That's a very good start and I like to join. At least I would appreciate to get information via newsletter when the project will start, that would be great.  :)
About my person: I'm a physics student in Germany with programming experience in Python and a little Java. Unfortunately not enough programming experience to help out in such projects but maybe this changes in the next years.

I signed up for Bitcointalk about a month ago to look around and read up on a few other coins. It didn't go so well. I believed what the devs were saying. I was new and I was too trusting. Somehow I got stuck on the wrong ones? I don't get how I didn't notice NEM. I wasn't on here enough and I got confused and sent money to a similar fundraising structure. Once I noticed NEM it was too late. Or so I thought. I just came back to look into some other coins and came by to see how NEM was doing and to my surprise, there is a waiting list now!!!!

I want to be a part of a community that isn't pretending, but actually being REAL about their goals.

I think that the NEM community and the team is serious, and not just trying to pump a coin. This coin could really change things and I want to be a part of it. Please tell me what I have to do. I seem to have missed the signup period for NXT and now NEM.  I just came about this project after reading about NXT.  I installed their client, entered my ID in the faucet, and received 2 shares.  Since it is 1.0 tx fee, I had 1 share to reshare.  The only way was to buy in. I didn't like the idea the shares were all held by a very small core group.  I then found this project and I support the idea of distributing it to a large group of people.  I see that as the only way to allow the currency to take off. 

I know I don't have a very high post count here.  All my talk about bitcoin has been in the real world.  I haven't spent much time chatting on these forums.  I don't know how to digitize my "real world" chatter... Hopefully, I can still get in on this initial distribution. 

I would be willing to help sift through applicants to look for duplicates or something like that for an IPO.

I have been following cryptos for over 4 years now since the early days when MTGOX was used for cards :-) although more recently I have felt that a lot of the community had learned from the current financial system and engaged in pump and dumps and manipulation I have always held on to the notion that one day a few coins would come through all this and offer a real life solution to many of the problems our current financial system is facing.

I like the idea of this and it seems to be the start of a growing movement to move away from a centralised and manipulated system that only benefits a very small number of people to a more fair, open and transparent system.

Given the current policy on QE and the the now locked in unlimited QE that results in massive drops on the markets when they even mention the word taper it now seems we have reached the point of no return or probably did a couple of years ago. When this current bubble bursts (which it will) we as a people need to be ready to face this challange and use the coming kaos to bring in a new system that ends central planning and I would very much like to be a part of this.

Hi, my name is Dan, I'm a mathematics student, first post I know, but this has finally piqued my curiosity to the point I just had to register. I'd like to join the waiting list if at all possible, I've been following and using bitcoin for a couple of years now, and although I never really delved into litecoin, the ideas for decentralisation in vertcoin, NXT and now NEM really interest me, and I'd love to be a part of the promotion of NEM.

The potential to revolutionize the way we think about currency and transactions is incredible, and while it might take a long time, a lot of education and maybe even new derivative currencies, promotion of the very principles behind these coins is nothing but a good thing. It'd be great if i could fling a few nemcoins around to people while I'm doing so :)

A bit late to the party here, obviously. My research for the next iteration of crypto has lead me here. I'd definitely like to be on the stakeholder list.

I'm tired of my government printing free money with 0 accountability at the expense of those of us that actually take responsibility at home and balance our budgets (after all, I can't print money when I'm in a bind... well not legally). I'm tired of a few special interest groups of power in the banking world manipulating and controlling everyone else without any accountability. It pisses me off frankly. For me, crypto is as much religious as it is interesting and fun. It isn't about getting rich or mining for me, it is about investing my time and money in something I feel is fair, secure, and open. After spending years investing in stocks and money I grew very disillusioned at how crooked the system really is. Even precious metals and the like are totally silly. Before learning about crypto I was ready to put my money in bullets and water. This is my last hope for unscrewing the corrupt geo political alignment that exists due to the centralization of wealth. NEM seems as good of a fit as anything. I'm a relative new comer to crypto but now that I'm in I'm obsessed, and looking for something a little more progressive (the next evolution if you will) to pour myself in to.

I'm a web specialist/j2ee dev/sys admin/sys eng/generalist/whatever for a fortune 50 hospital =). Would be happy to contribute where I can. I write transactional Java code, maintain hypervisors, and undervolt/overclock my chips, design web pages. My interests run the gamut from mundane to quite complex. If it is IT related, I probably dabble.
