Title: Issuing alternative money in the European Union
Post by: User500 on February 15, 2014, 11:17:24 PM
Hello,

http://www.theverge.com/2014/2/9/5395050/russia-bans-bitcoin
"The official currency of the Russian Federation is the ruble. Introduction of other monetary units and money substitutes is prohibited,"

Since Russia banned bitcoins, I am wondering if issuing alternative money in the EU is against the law too.
