Title: I0coin starting to come back
Post by: lightlord on October 05, 2011, 12:10:06 AM
I was quite smart; i saw everyone left in a hurry and difficulty dropped to 150 in i0coin from 900.
http://allchains.info/
So i went from earning like 2K to 16K a day; and i have well over 73K.

And now after two days; its already just starting i mean just beginning;
https://btc-e.com/i0c_exchanger

The first few buy orders popped up; just for like new currencies;
Its super rare that you get to mine at 150 difficulty; i mean super rare.
If i was you i would dive into it quickly before it sky rockets back up.
And its already started at the bottom.

So you don't have a lot of time.
I started two days ago; the only few people mining. And the hash rate on the network been going slowly up.
And once people know this;
It should skyrocket.

I know you might say its dead;
But that's what everyone says when they see it just starting.
Go back a year ago; i would say bitcoin is nothing; and now i am like its $$$.

Same thing can occur; all it takes is people jumping in; putting in bids, and asks,
and boom its back on track.
And i think 0.0001 is too low.

Solidcoin looks dead; and i0coin has pretty good rules in; just needs more hash power.
Perhaps this will replace Solidcoin.

Jump in before its too late.
I already started; so you can call me a early adopter;

And i can even toss some bounty to a few that gets in.

Prizes for using exchange + mining,
post hash rate; and exchange usage.
-----------------------------------

5000 for 1st
2500 for 2nd
1000 for 3rd
500 for 4th
250 4th to 10th
50 For all after {limited offer}

Be quick these prizes will go fast.
Post wallet; and mining rate + usage of exchange.
And i will give you your prize.

Be reasonable; like don't run with 1 hash, and 0.0001 i0coin on exchange;
that isn't really helping the i0coin currency. I want a trader and a miner.
More of a full timer, then a person who just wants the prize.
This is to help it; i want to promote i0coin.

If everyone has fear of i0coin and jumps out it will die;
we need everyone to mine together, and not jump out.
If there's no fear it wouldn't die. Just need a higher hash power and we would
be fine.

Compare to solidcoin; it is a gpu hostile currency and i0coin is a gpu friendly currency.
A lot of people here bought gpus; do you want your gpus worth nothing?
I perfer a gpu friendly currency over cpu.

Stop solidcoin; and by the looks of it it looks dead. We need i0coin to replace it

"I am sure someone else will promote it; or something, seeing solidcoin a gpu hostile currency, and i0coin a gpu friendly currency. To ever have the difficulty this low; it has to look dead; because it is playing dead doesn't mean it actually is dead.

But i do agree it doesn't look good at the moment and i understand.
Admin was dumb anyways; we need someone else to take over; and promote this.

All we need is a bit of hash power, a exchange opening, someone taking over this,
I am sure there's someone in the same boat as me for this.

Then it will sprung back to life.
And i have over 100K;

Usually when a currency starts back up; it usually goes up in a bubble. So i
may get in at 0.002 for a moment; and make like 200btc.
And if you look there is 8 giga hash; and someone
has surely thought of it as well as me.

Its possible. I am properly going keep it myself and just wait.
It will take sometime. But i honestly don't think its completely dead; its just playing dead.
And i know when to strike; now is the best time; difficulty at 150; with 3 giga hash i get
well over 20K every 24 hours. which could be me earning 20btc per day in the future which is $100 daily."

Well i am sure someone is on a similar boat; but on to saving i0coin; its a gpu friendly; and
its diffculty is pretty nice.

Honestly if i was you i would jump in and try to get in at 150 diffculty.
Though the more miners; the more likely bitparking i0coin will go back up.

He said if theres enough miners; he would re-start it.

I have an idea; why not set the confirmation limit to a 1000, i know it would be insane, but i perfer to have to up running; with 10 days to deposit; then having it shutdown.

This won't work if someone has the majority of hash power. They can always rewrite the chain, they just need to wait. The higher confirmation just makes it harder for someone with less than 50% of the hash rate. i0/ixcoin make it even easier due to the time travel exploit not being fixed and the lack of an active developer/maintainer to set checkpoints regularly.

Quote
Why not make the bitcoin withdraws all manual checks from you?
Some do that; and manually check, make it a 24 hour withdraw on bitcoins,
Make it take 24 hours.

This would be a significant manual effort and not something I want to do. It'll also raise complaints if I refuse a withdraw due to suspicious activity and then get hammered for it on the forums.

I didn't want to close the exchange. But I had to given the existing situation. What i0/ixcoin needs for exchanges to safely operate are:

* More hash power
* An active maintainer of the software
* Fix the time travel exploit
* Regular checkpoints added to the software

we just need more of this; and it should happen.
And my prizes are still open;

1st through 10th, etc.
if someone makes a exchange, and buys the domain, and tries
to promote it i may toss 10btc their way. + i0coin prize.

Already someone is trying to get in; so get in before difficulty gets too high.

short answer: no.

long answer: still no, and GG performs better.
seriously, all my rigs combined is more than half of i0c's total hashing speed.

When I click on the link there are only sell orders, no buy orders.   Hopefully i0coin problems can be solved and we can mine i0coin happily again.

your not the only one mining i0coin, but I'm currently going back and forth between currencies with my almost 3ghash, to minimize any losses. Lets just get an exchange to open deposits so we can get this thing back on

It spiked to 17 giga hash; so someone is here in my boat.

And we need more to get together; and then i can message bitparking i0coin admin; and tell him
there's enough hash rate; and it should come back online.

Come on people we need more.

Someone pulled 3 out; i was messaging the admin; he was saying it was not enough hash power;
If you keep it in its possible we could save it.

Keep for at least 12 hours; its not much of a loss; its like $5 at most;
and if its revived; all your i0coins you mined will be more then $5 as of difficulty;
you can earn like 20K per day at 3 giga hash.

alright will see what it does had a buy order on btc-e for 0.0001 but no takers, oh well can mine cheaper than that.

should be at 4ghash by the end of the week, guess I'm probably the only idiot still buying hardware lol

But anyways; lets try to keep this alive

Trying to help by doing some mining but I can't seem to find the i0coin client anymore.  Anyone has the link?

I0coin is dead. It had no redeeming features over and above Bitcoin -- in fact it had plenty of disadvantages.

It was a pathetic attempt at a fork -- it was never more than a pump & dump. Its day is done.

well think about all the forks that aren't dead Tenebrix, GG, Ixcoin may be almost dead but i0coin is better than all three of those. No fork has totally died off yet why start now

Indeed. There's no point in keeping it on life support. Just pull the plug.

He's already dumped his holdings... why would he continue it?

So doing a find/replace now makes one an author?  Hmm, maybe I should start publishing some works based on Harry Potter novels :)

He continued it quite for some time, I dunno why he did. Even now he occasionally pops up.

Just give it some time; i am sure someone will take over.
It could be gold days of mining; the thing is when ever its super easy to mine
there has to be several reasons;

When it is like 1200 difficulty; i keep wishing i got in at 190 difficulty;
and now i am at that. But because its at that; it doesn't necessarily mean its dead.
I am sure eventually something will be worked out for it.

But if everyone keeps saying its dead; and not good do to fears;
well it will die.

Solidcoin is a GPU Hostile currency; i0coin is GPU friendly currency;
i see a lot of potential; just need a person someone
who is a genius who can bring it back.

I mean honestly; theres a lot here who spent a ton on gpus; and mine bitcoins;
Do you want a gpu hostile currency? If solidcoin succeeds; well i can say my gpus are worth nothing.
Solidcoin was good; i liked it; but when he changed it to gpu hostile; i perfer to say fu; and go i0coin.

A currency is meant to be mined using anything; not limited to just cpu;
Save the i0coin; and kick solidcoin ass.

The reason i am mining i0coin; is because i am simply saying fu to solidcoin.

Solidcoin is for now largely an imagination-friendly currency. That is, you can only mine it with your imagination.

Sadly, it can thus be exchanged only for imaginary assets.

Who is here in the same boat; and has gpus; and knows that the solidcoin 2.0 version will be gpu hostile;

If you are in the same boat; come with me and say fu to solidcoin; and mine i0coin.

Y not mine Geist Geld ? It's GPU friendly and has 15s blocks and Escrow transactions (and might soon get other funnehs)

Meanwhile, if you want to mine a CPU-friendly cryptocurrency while mining a GPU-friendly cryptocurrency you can mine Tenebrix

P.S.:
Full disclosure - both are currencies I am strongly associated with and allchains.info sez that NMC is by far the most lucrative GPU currency to mine.

Are you using the escrow code from multicoin? Isn't that broken? There was a discussion on the bitcoin-dev mailing list about issues with it IIRC. What testing have you done on it?

I only followed the discourse on github, current version of multisign from most recent multicoin-exp works, tho requires nonstandard transactions to be enabled (I think I said that in the faq and in the thread...)

Testing done - making and redeeming escrows, making and redeeming in different order (key order, that is), trying to use bullshit keys (with predictable result)

A bunch of other folks tried it out without dramatic fail (though I specifically warn users that this thing is verily experimental in the "crutches" tabs dedicated to sending and redeeming escrow)

Hmmmm... you know, maybe when I finally update TBX (can't quite make up my mind about how to go about fixpile) I might release a proper GUI for GG with no nonstandards and no escrow (just for people who feel uncomfortable with nonstandards, would rather not deal with them, and just need to move their GG to the exchange, lol)

LOL that cracked me up. It is sadly true ATM. But hopefully he delivers and it is launched ASAP.

Give him a chance then troll, I say !
