Title: bitcointalk.org is for very slow thinkers/typists
Post by: 16214 on February 16, 2014, 08:06:12 AM

I always have the announcement:

"The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later."

are you guys always for slow thinkers/typists?

My internet is the school's internet, so then I always seem to have this problem, maybe all are having same IP address!!!" :(

It's too prevent spam...

You can move up in rank, not so bad then.

Well you will probably have the same IP, but it wont matter unless there's loads of people all posting on Bitcointalk, which is unlikely.

Just get more activity and the time limit keeps going down.

It is necesary for not spaming so much, just be patient, if you have some opinion you like to share, do that, no need to do it faster.

true... it would be annoying if anyone could spam like hell... no point in being veteran or stmh like that.

don't worry you will get over it when you'll get 15+ activity it will come down and down once you reach 15+ activity, you'll not even notice the limitation once you reach 15+ activity.
btw The limitation is there to get rid of spammer/ bots/ and other that  ways tries to exploit this forum.

To prevent spamming, you will have a 360 seconds time limit when you first sign up.
You need to wait for 360s between your post and PM, and actions like signing up, logging in or searching will reset the timer.

The time limit will be down to 75s when you reach 15 activity though.  :)

Thank you all for comments and reply!

Apparently I was not very active because I'm still on 360 seconds limit. But I will improve!!

Newbies always want to add some comments or ask something in the beginning - that's the reason why they joined this community. Hard to do this while you always need to wait 360 seconds :-)
Community can lose some users because of that. Tbh I'm sure someone are leaving already during registration. I tried to register for about 15 minutes - nicknames were used, so I needed to wait some time to try registration once again.

bitcointalk.org rocks. I was also a little bit annoyed for having to wait 360 seconds between posts, but I understand and agree with the reasons behind these rules. Besides, this is the best bitcoin forum online and well worth it imho.

I think this is to allow people to compose their thoughts before posting.

It's here to prevent early members from spamming with one word messages, ads and such.

Slow thinkers/typists? You are not thinking while you are typing, you are typing.. The again, maybe my definition of thinking exceeds your comprehension of it.

Everybody experiences it but the time decreases with more activity. Log out and in again and try post straight away and you'll see.

Somebody else might be posting from your school aswell. There is a posting restriction for various activity levels.

It might not be. It only takes a few people to clog the possibility to post.
