If miner hides the block he mined, how come that would be represented in the public ledger. And more importantly, if it hidden, why the rest of the n/w will accept it ? You are of course correct that the idea is not to hide the block forever. The idea is to build a secret branch of the block-tree and publish it when you stand a good chance of winning over the main branch |
