Title: How will you pass down your Eth wallet as inheritance?
Post by: nestorjacob on July 16, 2018, 09:46:06 PM
I have been wondering about how possible it will be for me to pass down my accounts as part of my will when I have not given the passwords to anyone since am afraid of thieves.

I guess you have your private keys stored somewhere, for example in some paper or in some text file inside a pen drive. If you have that paper or that pen drive stored in a place that your relatives can easily access, you can simply specify in your will its location and the contents of the wallet.

You can save your private key(s) in a Google drive or a place where only your family can access and put it down in your will where the beneficiary can locate the pass key(s)

Just write the private keys/seeds for your ETH wallet and keep it somewhere where they know where you'll keep it.

Tell them that as long as you are living, they can't move it nor touch it. Put a note to that safety box that tells on how they can claim your wallet by giving out some sort of instructions of importing the private keys.

You can save your private key(s) in a Google drive
This is the worst idea, anything you stored online can easily be hi-jacked if its worthy specially with $$ on it.

I used to save my private keys and seeds in a paper inside a pencil case where I put my money. My family are aware of it but no one dare touching it at least when I am still alive, I appreciate the idea of creating some instructions.

You really do not need passwords to do pass your accounts as inheritance. Get a good hardware wallet ,trezor, ledger, kepler, which ever suits your budget, and safely secure the private keys and keep your your wards
