Title: Some miner keep going back to default after few hours of mining
Post by: BitcoinIntern on July 16, 2018, 11:49:06 PM
I have some miners which keep going back to default after few hours of mining. Anyone had such an issue? What can be the reason? Thanks.

1)  Where did you buy your miners from?  Hopefully Bitmain directly.
2)  Are your miners behind a firewall or exposed directly to the Internet?  The later is VERY VERY bad.

So if it’s a hack it won’t go away with the reset?

Not if the firmware has been replaced.

So another step should be to replace the miner firmware of the one that goes to default? Why would it go to default and not to someone elses address?

I don't know how your miners were set up, but if your miners were hacked they could easily be made to display the default URLs in the configuration / status cgi and actually be mining somewhere else. You can always inspect the network traffic if you are unsure.
