Title: Suspicious transactions on Myetherwallet!
Post by: De_nis on July 17, 2018, 01:51:51 PM
Suspicious transactions on Myetherwallet!
On one of my purses today appeared tokens (-2500 tinyurl.com/nicetokens), which I never had and someone brought them out?
Someone knows what's the matter?
What's going on with the myetherwallet lately?!

It was some kind of advertising token, which was intended not for sale but just for presenting a new project. After the expiration of the deadline, the token was removed, and that's it. With MEW, everything is in order, do not worry!

It's an ad. Send a few tokens with a link to a website in the name to random addresses and many eth holders will visit your website. It's like a global announcement for the whole eth ecosystem.

I recommend buying a Ledger Nano. It is impossible to hack and protection is guaranteed. I always use it when I Login to Myetherwallet.

The current mew is quite unstable. There are rumors that hackers are attacking. But I think they are trying to make the school drop. I do not believe this is true because mew bags are quite safe for us

In my opinion it is dangerous to translate these tokens, the friend had the same situation when the unknown tokens came, he tried to translate them, and then everything was gone from the purse!

That really does not matter also there might be some problems with mew but that is probably promo coin, if you don't lose anything don't worry.

I highly doubt that this is a MEW related issue since these kind of things tend to happen now and then and I have experienced them myself a couple of times. MyEtherWallet security is top notch and I always feel safe leaving my coins and tokens in my MEW wallet. Do some research on that particular token itself op and find out if other people also faced the same issue. At the end of the day, you are not losing anything which is why you need to stop panicking.

Such airdropped coins are common for ERC20 tokens. It will not affect your ETH wallet if you leave the token in it. IMO, this strategy is to attract investors’ attention and increase holders count.

Please don't panic!

This is not an issue on any level, anyone can send you tokens and airdrops get tokens is a common phenomenon for promotion.

Maybe they just wrongly send the tokens to your address or the airdrop participants maybe made some mistake while giving his eth address. But you are very safe you never get hacked y sending a spam coins. You will be hacked only if you phised to some links.

The TX id you mentioned was the transaction of 2500 tokens which was mentioned in OP was send to 752 users, you are also one of them. But they can't withdraw that token without your permission.SO no one can withdraw your wallet's funds other than the people who have the private keys of that wallet.

They may be from some useless airdrop or some spam tokens, i have also received few such tokens in the past, i think mostly they do this to get attention towards their token so that they can attract more people to in est in their crap token.

I followed all the safety rules! I do not know how they did it, and I do not understand how the whales store a lot of thousands of ETH on the myetherwallet and they do not steal from them! MEW is a very bad wallet for our money ...

Not worried about receiving shit tokens. But these 'nicetokens' were not deposited INTO my address, they were send OUT of my address, which is a Trezor generated address by the way.
Someone generates coins on the fly in random addresses and can send them out to other addresses (regardless from Trezor or MEW or whatever, none of those interfaces are actually used when coins are transferred) ???

And I see one of the destination addresses is BancorTokenNetwork. Bancor? If that's not fishy, then what is...

If your other asset not lost, your wallet is secure, however if one who hack your wallet, he / she will take out all your properties. Not ony one token but clean all your asset with your eth. you have nothing now is someone hacked your wallet. If only one token and I think it is a promo toke with smart contract to leave the wallet by itself.

Here is a letter me was shown today:

The Token Has Spoken

Don't worry, your wallet is safe. We just wanted to show you that you could do things with tokens nobody had ever dreamed of. That is just the tip of the iceberg. And we've built the system to do it. Build Tokens that work in the real world. Here's how:

If you're a developer, it's as simple as REST API which we provide several fully functional demo apps w/code using the token.

If you're an entrepreneur, you just need a developer who knows how to build the app your token will be used in. They can use our system with any modern language and generate tokens within minutes. No more hunting for the magical crypto unicorn on a budget.

If you're a financier, you'll be able to see an entire ecosystem of tokens, token ideas, and real world token implementations. Any token can be converted to a mainnet ERC20 exchange token.

Add yourself to our list below to find out more.

How will we know the answer and provide an accurate information if you will be unable to provide a screenshot or may a link for transaction? If you are familiar with airdrop, there might be a possibility that there was some sort of partnership with the token you hold and provided an airdrop depending on the number of that token you hold.

They are correct, it's just a token spam that they are promoting their coins so if you posted somewhere your ETH address, they have gathered it.

And after gathering a lot of ETH addresses on their databases that's the time they are going to send their token at once.

They don't need for any airdrops or what, they are forced to endorsed it that way.

We should avoid Myetherwallet. I don't know cryp[to has billions of USD cap. In Myetherwallet, every day a huge amount of crypto coin trade there, then why their security is the worst?  Recently I read many topics here about MEW Hacking, And I just fed up with this MEW. We need a good alternative ETH wallet with high security like blockchain wallet.

Recalling how easy it is to deploy an ethereum token, that's definitely a spam token that usually being used to spam something universally even a malicious software aswell by giving a suspicious link.
Just ignore that and you will be fine, otherwise MEW won't add it to their recognised erc20 token so you can relax a bit.

Completely true. This is honestly silly in my opinion and they are not impressing anyone through such silly tactics. Why can't they simply follow what everyone else are doing? I was surprised myself when I saw these tokens in my wallet, but never panicked or anything since I have faith in the security of MEW and some research helped clear up my doubts. Don't panic needlessly people.

Suspicious transactions on Myetherwallet!
On one of my purses today appeared tokens (-2500 tinyurl.com/nicetokens), which I never had and someone brought them out?
Someone knows what's the matter?
What's going on with the myetherwallet lately?!

You can find more info by this url. And it looks like advertisment. I don't think that it is good way to promote anything.

"Don't worry, your wallet is safe. We just wanted to show you that you could do things with tokens nobody had ever dreamed of. That is just the tip of the iceberg. And we've built the system to do it. Build Tokens that work in the real world."

I don't think the problem is from MyEtherWallet. Most people joke with their wallets when they engage in fake airdrops that will require them to verify their wallets by inputting their wallets' private keys.

After doing some research about such suspicious activities, one of the evident reasons is that it was an ad of a new project. Once the ad expired, it was removed. There is nothing to worry about it and it is not a scam.

In my opinion it is dangerous to translate these tokens, the friend had the same situation when the unknown tokens came, he tried to translate them, and then everything was gone from the purse!
This can't be happening. How the transfering of this token could cause the theft of others ones? this could only happen if you compromised your private key or you were hacked. But I think that these tokens are not really involved.

This might be a spam or advertising token. This is quite normal as new coins are being created frequently and they plan to advertise their coins by putting it in peoples wallet. After a certain time the coin will be there no more.

Myetherwallet is a very modern way of promotions for coins. Basically, many different companies put up these pop offers, if unused they remove the coins again from your wallet.

Someone probably just airdropped the tokens to random wallets.  I have a bunch of junk tokens in myetherwallet that have been sent to me.  I don't even bother doing anything about it.  It's an eyesore but unfortunately you can't prevent it from happening.

MEW is the wallet which has a very serious level of safety and I am sure in it totally. Anyway it has some rare problems but they do not influence in common.

This is alarming because myetherwallet is the main source of where our incomes are coming from. It is the tool being use by different projects and programs to bring us our earnings. They should do precautionary measure to prevent hackers attacking our wallets.

If you observe a suspicious transaction on you wallet, it means you have entered you private keys on those malicious websites that usually require you send your private keys to verify your wallet for fake airdrops. You need to move you tokens to a new wallet before they pack all your tokens away.

Yes, I also got strange tokens like that, but my friend said you should never click on that link because it is a trap link you can lose the token you have on MEW, so you have to be careful if you get a token like that
