Please I need an explanation. When I joined this platform, I was enlightened about some things, one of which is how to improve one's rank through posting and merit. But the bone of contention here is this merit of a thing. I was told it's based on quality post. But i tell you, this is really difficult to conceive, I have had some post here with wonderful comments , but I'm not getting any merit. My question is how is a quality post determined and who gives this merit.

I just want to say that if they find your posts useful they will give you merit.
The fact that you self-assess your posts is positive, this is not objective by others evaluation.

I think it depends on the benefit people that can be get from the post. Merit is given for the post which can add some value in the industry.

Initially the forum was created to make it helpful for the people I the market of crypto to get help and help each other. Merit is just a way to show how knowledgeable the person is. Irrelevant post will not get merits.

This forum is all about the crypto currency. Any sort of information which will benefit the people in the market regarding crypto, through the post will get merit. And any irrelevant posts, which is just there for the sake of posting will get nothing.

Lately it has really become a serious bone of contentions. Personally you cannot qualify your post to be good enough to get a merit.

Community and communication is good option to get merit, not only quality post. You have to made a communication with someone have who have a lot of merit. If you have a good post, maybe you can try send to the other member (who have a lot merit) to be reviewed your post.

Keeping a postive note on your capabilities is appreciated. Hopefully they will evaluate and discover your post beneficial to adding value, upon which merit will be made. Good luck .

Maybe those who commended your post does not have a sMerit to be given to  others, and those who have, don't consider your post beneficial to them. I do believe that a member with sMerit feel that your post is very helpful, surely they will give you what you deserve.

It's really hard to get some merits nowadays. It's kind of frustrating that sometimes when your post is kind of helpful, the forum merit givers doesn't give you credits. Well, I guess getting lucky is part of getting a merit too. I also want to know the criteria for a merit worthy post.

Yes of course, we must try so hard in order to get the merit. Not all members in this forum will give us the merit easily. They will really choose the account with a very good and informative merit. Of course, every member has different criteria. Just let it flow.

well I really agree with you very difficult to get the current merit, there is a saying if you want to get merit you have to make a quality post but i am confused what qualified post qualification post, and who will give a merit if our post enter qualified post qualification,

All of us give the merit because we have a spendable merit. Though there are designated higher members known as merit source that can give most of this merit but there are not made known to us. Like you point out you get merit through your post and contribution to other people's post.What you said is true that the merit is not flowing despite your contribution. There is no other way to get merit accept by posting. Good luck my brother.

You must communicate with someone who has many rewards. If you have a good post, maybe you can try sending to other members (who have many benefits) to review your post. Community and communication is a good choice to earn rewards, not just post quality.

now to get the credit you need to write a useful post that will really benefit, then you will be given credit, but again not always it turns out to do.

Well.. Its really hard to get merit nowadays. It takes a level of expertise and knowledge and also strategic skills in posting inside this forum. Maybe you can get merit especially when your post is very helpful to industry or bounty projects and people can benefit out of this idea. Maybe you can get merit if your post from this forum are really good.. If not, can I have your opinion on how to get merit sooner or later?

Most of the time, people don't necessarily give you merit, even if you think you've posted a high quality post.
Try to publish some technical articles and you'll probably get a lot of merit.

Haha..., just take it easy.  Quality post they said, but everybody doing signature campaign post at least 10 "quality post" every week.  Just hope some good guy will give it to you someday. 

For me I am already contented as a Jr. Member as long as I don't cheat and always following the rules. I am already contented on what I make on social media bounty getting those merits will just stress you out. Just post without expecting to get merits sooner or later you'll just see merits will be given to you. High rank doesn't always mean you will get high rewards.

To get merits, you shall consider first reliablity of your posts and reliable sources of information you shared in post. Another thing must be considered which is not to share/post any conflicting posts which force others to think it as a spam or scam. In bitcoin forum, you always think twice before you a say anything. Because relying on your posts many can take the best or the worst decision.

Most member here in forum are not getting merit even when you make a quality post. Make a useful topic that helps to everyone to have an information in that way there are many members will see your post and possible that will give you a merit.

Basically they seek posts that are helping the community to learn and expand. So, it's better if you keep posting useful things like you have done before. Hopefully, you'll earn merits in not time.

Getting merits on this forum is just too difficult. it's becoming it's becoming a situation the moderators should look into because it is discouraging some users who have stayed in junior membership for so long.

It is really hard to get it. How can I help somebody these days? For example he asked a question and 20 people answred him before me. How can I add something else useful?

I should have been a level up on my current rank because of my activity but because of the merit system I am stuck and I need a lot of merit to get into another level, but what can I do its hard to rank up now I think I will have to content myself at this level for the rest of my activity here on Bitcointalk.

I think probably not only you must making some constructive threads ar posts, I think we will given some merits by help answering that asked in this forum or some trouble of some people. We should get merit when we found our comments was helpfull by others, but I think this system was so complicating that when the person who had been helped was get stingy that is not fair.

The reward can we get from other accounts that assume that your post is useful for him and others. Therefore, no one determines the quality of a posting other than fellow members in this forum so with it we must respect each other member to be able to trust each other. It is very difficult to be able to get a reward from others but if we strive continuously and consistently make a quality post would be a reward that we will accept or not we can try to join in the topic and berpastisipasi on the topics that provide to provide merit.

The merit is given by individual members who think your post is of such quality that it deserves merit. The amount of merit that people have to give is based on the amount of merit they already have. When it was implemented people were given the basic merit of their rank. That means that the old style bitcoiners ended up with all the merit. To get merit you either need to kiss the butts of the bitcoiners or cheat. You won't get merit for posts in Altcoin Discussion.

I'm also searching the answer of this question. What kind of post exactly will make us get the merit. As we know that every member has their own criteria. Maybe, we are really sure that our comment or posting are good but other members don't feel it. And, many members are not desire to give their merit to others. Is that true?

When everyone is able to read and know something from them, they must evaluate it. In this case, the writing must be of its merit and will be on the merit list.

its not just about quality post, its about useful post to a particular member.

If you make a post and i find it very beneficial to me, i have no choice than to give you merit
So in simple terms, give making the posts, and get it right.

It will take some time, mate. When did you join the platform? Just keep some patience you will get ranks soon if you provide continuous precious posts. Sometimes it take much more time than as usual but you have to stick with it.

Form my point of view if they find you post relevant or you posted which contain relevant information than they will gave you merit. Try to assess your post by other people. So worry no more.

If you are not getting any merit then probably no one likes your post. My friendly advise is to stop talking how to get merit because it would not make good to you.

merit is given based on a qualified comment,  many people gets disappointed because they don't  get their expected merit, for earning it one must know what are the requirements needed to have a qualified comment this will help you to improve your rank and create some wonderful comments

Social media campaigns are good but High rank is better dude, if you are a legendary you have the advantage of getting a lot of tokens, just like discrepancy of stakes in signature campaign, unlike social media campaign everybody can participate, what if social media campaigns gone? Because of spamming posts?

it depends on how useful and profitable your post is for the progress of a project. if deemed worthy you will get merit in return, but if not relevant you will not get anything.

Actually it depends on people. They will judge whether your posts deserves to be merited or not. But don’t lose the hope. Give useful posts on a regular basis and wait. You will get merits but it may take some time.

It is almost impossible to get merit right now just for posting, there are not that much people who want to give merits for free...Merit system needs to be edited a little

I think the evaluation is totally depends on them. If they think that your post and sharings are qualitative then they give merit. I hope you will get merit very soon.

I suggest you have a change of intention. Thinking about this merit issues might stress you. Just keep focused and at the right time your reward will be guaranteed.

Merit is getting incredibly difficult now. Nobody just will not give it to you, you have to do really useful posts.

I also do not understand how the merit system works and how good post criteria. honestly very difficult to get the merit now and sometimes annoying. but I will continue to try it, hopefully I am lucky.

I say that you can post without expecting a merit because what is quality post to you might not be a quality post to others.

An alternative would be to create a very useful thread that would most likely be swarmed by users. You get their attention and they might give you some merits.

You should start looking at all the different threads and discussion boards to see where merit is given the most.

Since you give out sMerit depending on how much you get, there are certain places where there are a lot more merit being thrown around.
Obviousely, altcoin discussion board is not one of them, there is very little merit to be had here.
Ironically, it is where most bounty hunters post and they are the ones that want merit the most.

The other thing to do, is find someone who is merit distributor.
They should be fairly obvious because people merit them like crazy and their ranking.
Look up what type of posts that person merits and where he merits them.

It may seem like a lot of work, and it won't be guaranteed that you will get a lot of merit, but you will certainly get more than now.

Just be consistent in doing quality comments Brother, this will help you to earn trust from others to give you merits. There’s a qualify higher members here that full heartedly recognise your comments and post soon keep on doing helpful statements with knowledgeable thoughts. There are many factors in this issue. Someone could like your post and he would like to evaluate it, but this man has no merit that he could give. For example, I have no merit to give someone. In addition, this forum has a lot of participants and everyone wants to get merit. One day it will happen. Keep making quality posts and writing good comments.

I post a super high quality comment once.  I thought that comment is gonna be huge, inspiring every body in this forum.  So I check that thread for quoted reply or maybe some merit in the next day just to find out my comment is gone.  They delete my "high quality" comment!!!   ;D ;D

Maybe you think that's your best comment, that's your judgment! If your comment is deleted then your comment is less qualified or spam. To get the merit is now very difficult even a good comment and quality will not get any merit, it has become a game from the forum.

I think it's like a reward for a contest. If you only see it as a game, then you are not serious with his effort.

It's really hard to earn a merit even if you have a quality post. I already have a bunch of quality post that deserves some merit but until now I don't get a single one. But, I'm positive one of these days i will get one. I just have to continue to post constructively and informative.

That is exactly my point, what is quality post to us maybe just a spam to Admin or others.  Speaking about spam, honestly, I never spam, never copy and paste others post, always make my own comment.  But I've seen millions of useless post and comments in this forum and it still there.  I've seen days old newbie account with merits.

Yeah. Getting merit is a bit hard to get these days. But, if can make quality of post with proper justification, then merit will be provided to you.

i am stuck with 1merit:) , i don't know how to gain more merits. I tried some posts but haven't recieved any merits.

I think you are perceiving your posts to be wonderful but actually were not useful enough to get a merit. You will get merit for quality posts and if someone finds it helpful for him/her. Don't lose hope and carry on. You will get merits if your posts help people.

It is harder to get merits to be uprank, merit system is to avoid the bitcointalk to be spammed by one user with many high rank accounts.

This Merit thing was implemented as many spammers were able to reach high ranks without providing any useful thoughts/points/comments and we were told that hard-working users will be rewarded and promoted. I am not a fan of this regulation as, in my opinion, there is almost no room to grow and most users can not reward great content makers because they have no sendable Merit. It is quite centralized in hands of a few very experienced users, but they are simply unable to go through so many posts and reward people... I don't care anymore, I know that I will be hardly ever given Merit, but I would like to reward people more often. Because right now, it is like a job where is almost no chance of promotion for new users, which affects their behavior on the forum and their passion may disappear as well. No system is perfect, but if I have a chance to change a single thing on this forum, I would do exactly that.

Based on this statement I want to tell that this forum is related to Cryptocurrency here people ask questions and they can know many things from here also many beginners learned many potential news from here but if the topic is irrelevant then authority decide this.

If you are post is helpful in enough, you will get merits. But nowadays as there a lot of members in this forum, getting merit is a hard task. You have to be very patient and keep posting helpful articles and comments. Hope that you will soon get merits.

I like this kind of system but I really find it hard to get some.

It is really hard to get to merit now. because those who are merit send their multi accounts. Or trying to sell it . you get a maximum of 1 merit even if you make a very nice sharing

I'm looking to get reasonable answers from this thread too, cos it is almost as if it is impossible to get merits from this platform. I used to think it depend son how active you are and how much relevant posts you make, or comment on, but it seems to me like I thought wrong and thus I would like to know what is needed to be done.

There is no conspiracy. You have to understand there are people with long time experience in crypto here. We can only strive to get to their level and make contributions that are useful to them.

That said, my only wish is I would have enough merit to be able to use a really cute avatar I have already picked out  ;D
