Post by: theonewhowaskazu on February 17, 2014, 01:26:48 AM
About to take a 37-equivalent BTC leveraged long position on Gox using BTC.sx ;)

Wish me luck, and help me time it!

I haven't actually pulled the trigger yet, I think I'm going to wait until Wednesday evening Japan time. I'd like to catch the initial run up without having to pay btc.sx's ridiculous financing fees.

Seriously why don't you just take a loan and buy on gox, that wouldn't be as reckless. would be as reckless but you wouldn't have to deal with another shady, possible fraudulent entity.

Because btc.sx isn't anywhere near as fraudulent as gox itself, and its hard as fck to get a fiat loan on Gox itself, and it would be stupid to borrow fiat and promptly exchange it for devalued gox bux?

Can you depost real btc to btc.sx and then use them buy gox btc at gox prices? For example can I send 1 BTC and buy 2.5 goxbtc? (This is not about leverage, its about rates)

of course Munger also called Bitcoin "rat poison", so take it FWIW.

Short button is enabled. Tried clicking a dozen of times. Constantly saying "Your request could not be completed.".

They earn probably more by shorting themselves and then manipulating a bit... >:(

"My BTC.sx order was liquidated before hitting the stop/limit prices?"

"There are some very weird things happening at BTC.sx.. They are in the same building as mtgox, maybe that explains...

I heard lot of positions were liquidated due to price manipulation today and yesterday. "

You might think twice before using their service. ;)

You're borrowing Gox Fiat, at Gox Fiat collateral rates, with a promise of repaying Gox fiat. Not borrowing real fiat and exchanging it for Gox fiat.

If you put it like that it makes sense.

But then do you expect to see anything of these "funds" in any useable form again?

I dont care, I don't intend to do anything with gox fiat except occasionally owe it.
