I know a lot of adults who are artists alike who still watch anime. Not all anime are for kids only, we can also appreciate great works of art like those that are done by Makoto Shinkai and Hayao Miyazaki of Studio Ghibli. There are good masterpieces out there and the stories are superb as well.

Some might argue that 90% of anime is simply not for children, since the problems it displays come from the minds of adult creators, and kids simply won't have the experience to grasp the meaning. I'm not talking So yes, the best anime is really for grown-ups. This is a question of some areas of modern culture probably. What backgrounds have anime as something for kids in your opinion? It's a type of entertainment created not only for youngsters. I know a few people who are passionate about overall anime topic and are over 30 and 40 years old.

I don't think anime is for kids only. Actually, the stories mostly in animes are for adults since the plot are serious.
