Title: Google Chrome Cache/Cookies Ethereum Private Key
Post by: ardit_ on July 19, 2018, 03:20:32 PM
Hello,

I was trading on idex.market and lost access to the UTC, password and private key of my wallet. I am still logged into the website, but it says I have to Unlock my wallet after their maintenance.

I have been able to retrieve the UTC information from Chrome cookies by using F12 and going to Application, and have replaced the information of an old ETH wallet UTC that I no longer use, with those of the wallet in use on the idex.market website. I replaced the mac, ciphertext and other parts that may have differed.

Does this mean that I have restored my UTC file for my wallet ?

Also, the main point of this post is to get help in retrieving my private key so that I can unlock my wallet.

I have forgot my password for my wallet so the only way to unlock it is to use my private key.

Is it possible to find my private key from my Chrome cache or cookies ?

Sincerely,

Ardit

Hopefully, someone knows about it will help you solve.
I have not encountered such cases.
Your problem is that you lose access to the wallet, is that your fault or the fault belongs to Idex?

I think it is my fault, as when creating the wallet on the website, they advise to make a backup of private keys. I should have used my main work station to create the wallet, rather than using my mobile phone. It is the only wallet that I don't have the backups for, but even remembering the password will be difficult, as I used passwordsgenerator.net and it could be between 9 and 32 characters, with the default settings used.
