We would like to announce Rya a decentralized monetary system, and to invite you to join our growing community.

Why Rya?

Bitcoin has a fixed supply of 21 million coins which causes its price to go up in the long run, just like gold (HODL). This makes it an extraordinary store of value, and a less than ideal medium of exchange. But we also want to be able to use a decentralized currency for our everyday needs: buying a cup of coffee, taking a micro loan or paying for our internet bill.

Fiats monopolistic money market will obviously never be decentralized, and regulators can’t make perfect decisions all the time. They try hard (in some countries...) to make fiat a useful medium of exchange, but in the long run fiat currency tends to lose its value.  

We are creating Rya to be both a stable medium of exchange and a fair store of value. The money market for Rya has a normal demand and supply curve and the rate at which money is created is dynamically adjusted to fit economic conditions. This way, we are neither limited by fixed supply nor require regulation.

Rya uses new software and has its own blockchain and wallets for pc/mac/mobile. Nxt’s source code and Proof of Stake model had a big influence on Rya (especially the underlying blockchain tech). We will have a small premine which will consist of a percentage for the founding team / future dev efforts. It will also include a series of airdrops - initially to Nxt owners and later on in a tbd format. Details are still being ironed out, we will update on this asap.

Our community has been actively building Ryō for the last year and chose the name before any other coin existed with the same title and we own a domain which illustrates that.

We decided to proceed with our announcement using the name Ryō so as to avoid delays, but do not intend to step on anyone’s toes over at https://ryo-currency.com/ (https://ryo-currency.com/). We plan on changing the name before launch.

You have on plans include airdrops, bountys or giveaways?

Whats the algorithm of the coin? As PoS coin what will be the expected stake reward? Are in plans add MN?

Its good explain about possible mistake with other coin name but will be better if you add more technical info about the coin, not only link to the webpage.

This is a great concept indeed. I would to ask maybe you have any wallets and then social media bounties or maybe some work for pay schemes that I can join this with so I can earn Ryo while doing bounty work. I will certainly check the website for more details.

a good start, the development of the project as a whole would like to understand what the money system means, you mean the payment system? how much is the minimum fee for testers?

To answer some of the questions:

1) PoS questions: Ryo is based on proof of trust (PoT) which is a variation on the principles of PoS. Check out the whitepaper for a very in depth explanation on how Trust works.
2) Masternodes: at this point in time we do not have plans for MN.

How many tokens of Ryo and Trust will it be on the genesis block?

1. The amount of tokens/Ryo coins in the genesis Block is not yet determine, in any case Ryo is a free money market and the binding of system-wide credit to money creation ensure that the amount of money in circulation will be appropriate for the state of the economy.

the algorithm is a bit complex but here some info from the white paper:
"Ryō   (Japanese:   両)   is a   cryptocurrency   and   monetary   system   designed   to

So where will Ryō will be available?
Will it available globally or it will just available for local place only, just as the name "Ryō" that are japanese.

Ryo will be available globally as an accepted means of payment at any merchant that chooses to accept it. The idea here is a truly decentralized, self regulated, global currency :)

From what is in the whitepaper, very soon Ryō will be one of the largest currency in circulation and used by many people..

when will the sale of tokens of this project begin? There is little information about the sale of tokens, about the project tokens, about their functionality.

They didn't disclose the details of crowdfunding even in whitepaper nothing mentioned maybe they will come with POW which is not decided yet. I hope very soon they will publish all details and the list of the exchanges where it will be traded.

Through a free airdrop. In order to participate in the airdrop all you have to do is to own Nxt in a non-exchange wallet. Further details will be published about this soon.

Thanx @Mirkolta. Rya's core blockchain tech is cloned from Nxt, with a lot of changes made of course. Nxt owners will be given 40% of the initial coins in circulation (well above the 10% required)

The snapshot will be taken in block 2,110,000 of the Nxt blockchain expected to occur on November 17th.

Remember only Nxt users with Nxt wallets will get the new RYA coins and trust when the main net will be live. Exchange wallets are not supported.

The project began as Ryo over a year ago. However in between then and now another project using the name Ryo came along. For this reason the project was rebranded as Rya a short time ago. I hope this helps clarify :)

Anymore details on what happens to rest 60% of supply? Will be airdropped later for holders or will be used for bounty or 60% is developer fund.

We are planning on additional air drops, most likely to Rya holders, though we are also considering other options. There will be a very small percentage reserved to fund continued development. We are still ironing out final details on exact numbers.

Can you update your OP to include $TRUST ?  My community has raised questions about Staking on $TRUST or $XTP.

Absolutely NO connection between the Rya project and $TRUST or $XTP. Rya has its own TRUST token which is an internal token that cannot be moved from wallet to wallet, has no transactable value and serves a purpose in the Rya minting process. The Rya TRUST will be airdropped alongside Rya to NXT owners. There is no staking in the Rya system using other coins. It is a completely self contained system.

If you want to disrupt the banking system, I believe you need to disclose your team members.
And a 7-page whitepaper is not enough to discuss such ambition.


60% that will be left for the team is a big number. If they will be dumping theirs, we'll never know that.
But at least they are not holding ico. Maybe relying from the airdrop hunters in terms of market movement once it hit the exchange.

We intentionally chose not to disclose team members or to engage in 'team marketing' common in many projects as we want Rya to be a community which is focused on the tech. This ties into the decision not to launch an ICO.


We are always excited to hear feedback on the economic motivation and reasoning in Rya - if you think there are details missing we would be happy to hear and address them. However our belief is that sometimes less is more, and a WP is meant to express an idea to as many people as possible in just the right ammount of detail.


The vast majority of the 60% will be airdropped. There will be announcement about this PRIOR to launch, so no need to worry about bad intentions. A small portion will be reserved for continued development

What would be Jelurida Public License? Who has NXT coins up to block 2110000 will receive the same amount of Rya in your wallet?

Anyone that owned Nxt at block height 2110000 will receive Rya, no need to have held for multiple blocks. The project is published under a modified version of the JPL with full acknowledgment from Jelurida/Nxt community.

will this be like ignis, when many are buying nxt to get ignis so the price of nxt soars. or maybe this will not happen again because many have suffered losses. so for this rya I don't think many will have it unless they are still holding nxt until now, except maybe there is another strategy from the team. goodluck

Rya is an independent project with an ambitious long term goal. We are not concerned with the short term price movement. In particular, Rya wont have an impact on NXT price because the snapshot date has long passed :)

How/Where to claim airdrop for NXT hodlers?

You need to download the wallet from https://ryacoin.io/ and enter the NXT private key or passphrase. If you had NXT at the time of the snapshot you will have your RYA in the wallet.
