Title: I am wondering
Post by: lightlord on October 07, 2011, 02:41:43 AM
Tenebrix only works on a cpu; do to its code. Isn't possible to get it somehow to work on a gpu; it would be slower; properly a lot slower;
but even so; is it possible to get a gpu; to mine at all? even 1/1000th speed of cpu.

Can a gpu simulate a cpu; and run it; or am i not getting something?

lightlord:
Of course it's possible to implement on a GPU, why wouldn't it? See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=45849.0 for what I managed to get out of a HD6970.

If you got no clue, STFU.

if its possible; then how do i do it?

How do i get the gpu to mine? it doesn't sound simple.
Any instructions? Or do someone has to write a code for this to work.

They are not going to share GPU code for Tenebrix. They are idiots.

Roughly, you'll have to implement scrypt in a manner that runs bearable-ish on GPUs.

Please read the https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=45849.0 carefully.

If you can optimize scrypt to run better than that, more powa to you.
